Yes anno we did photograph the car next to us, the bay and our car too. We had our blue badge on display too. We couldn't see any specific disabled bays which we thought was odd .

We've been to the care home. Our friend was in good spirits. He tells us that he's still recovering from being treated to a "large pheasant" when visitors took him out for a spin in his wheelchair. Pheasant? He then corrected himself...it was a large Grouse whisky. He hadn't had alcohol for two years. The visitors thought that he deserved a large one...on an empty stomach. He's still recovering from an almighty hangover.

We are almost ready to visit the GP. I have the carefully prepared dossier on NHS and lack of dialogue ready and waiting. Two years...and I'm no nearer a resolution or an explanation to a perfectly straight forward request. Was mesh introduced into my body cavity? Where has the file gone? The last specialist guessed that there may be some in the vaginal septum (wherever that may be). I shall update you when I return.

They do it on purpose, N&G. They are out to get you. It's an easy revenue stream. We got a notice once for not displaying a parking ticket. It was displayed - it had just blown out of position when DH shut the car door. We had not overstayed our time either, so DH objected and got it overturned - eventually!

We took our car in today - I hope for the final time - to get the new sensor fitted, which meant we had three and a half hours to kill (once fitted, they have to then "relearn the car" we were told) so we were off up the canal again for a walk. We met a chap with a camera whose first words were "have you seen the kingfisher?" He had, it seemed, seen all manner of wildlife that we had managed to miss in our zombie like early morning torpor, including grass snakes, water voles, stoats and a yellow bellied slider turtle (I kid you not!). He had photographed them all it seemed. Because I politely took an interest, as I was brought up to do (not so DH who had wandered off) he soon had me shackled to a slideshow on his camera. I had to admit his photos were stunning but all I wanted to say to him was "have you seen a bacon sandwich with my name on it because I seriously need to find one soon or I am going to die of starvation!" Narrow canal towpaths are dodgy places too, especially when you meet a lady walking five dogs on leads!!

Would anyone care for a and a piece of figolla ( a Maltese Easter tradition which is extremely delicious)?

I'm allowing myself a sit down after tackling an industrial-sized pile of ironing. This was due to DGD being violently sick in my bed on Wednesday night. Poor little soul, I had to shower her at 4am, change her pj's, change the bed, made myself a , then as soon as we got into bed, she was sick again all over the clean duvet! Hence another change of bedding, pj's etc, which caused a lot of extra laundry.

She has been staying with me for her Easter break, should have gone back to school yesterday but isn't going until Monday now. She's still not 100%. Hasn't much of an appetite and is having a long nap at present. Don't like to see her poorly, but glad I'm able to help as DD2 is very busy at work.

Weather isn't very Mediterranean at present, but am sure we will all be grumbling about being too hot in a few weeks, so may as well enjoy the cooler temperatures.

I am in high dudgeon too!! As some of you know, DS1 is disabled due to a stroke 10 years ago. He is very independent and capable, doing lots of voluntary work, walking, with a stick, all over our small town, swimming and going to the gym. Because he has little or no use in h I s left hand, he has a Pa for 4 hours a week. She does some housework, chopping veg and takes him out. He lives in an adapted HA flat in a block of about 20. There is one other disabled person in the complex. There is a private car park which is patrolled regularly and each flat is allowed one permit per adult - the registration number has to be logged with the ha. DS'S pa has gone away for 2 weeks so I went to do his chopping and a bit of housework. I can park for an hour on the road but, as I was going to be longer, I parked in the car park. You can guess the rest - except my fine was £100!!

You will really miss your family if you move so far away n&g

Bellasnana we had a dose of that a couple of months ago when GS was staying here. Fortunately he was not sick in his bed, just everywhere else and then he was afraid to go to sleep in case it happened again. Bless them, it's very traumatic for them when it happens, and makes a lot of work for us. I am very intrigued to know about your figolla and would certainly like to try it. I made a batch of scones this afternoon but am ashamed to offer them to the kitchen because, once again, they have failed to rise, despite the eggs, the baking powder, the eye of newt (I told DH they were raisins ?) and sundry other things I don't usually do! DH, however, who is licking jam and cream off his fingers as we speak, declared them unusually delicious - as biscuits go!

I have appealed parking charges twice and succeeded. There's a lot of good advice on this web site on how to challenge a parking charge and how to avoid it in the first place.

We are off for a walk along the Huddersfield narrow canal tomorrow greyduster so we will heed your advice about towpaths being dodgy places.

I'm definitely appealing anno, so thank you for the link. I will be appealing on the basis that, if the council assesses him as needing, and pays for, his pa, then it stands to reason that he needs someone while she is away! Pigging ridiculous!!

GP was, as always, very kind. He phoned the specialist's number in Glasgow...and the private hospital in Cornwall. Guess what? No one to take either call. Please leave a message. He did so. And that was that. My son's good friend is to phone me this evening. Hey ho! As bags would say.

I ordered 2 prescriptions from the surgery on Wednesday, was told they`d be at the pharmacy for me to collect today. I cadged a lift up there from my son this afternoon, Lynne`s was there, mine wasn`t. Rang the surgery to ask why, there`s a doctor on holiday, they`ve been busy this week and haven`t got around to getting mine signed by a doctor. Once they get to the pharmacy it takes 2 days for them to be ready, so that` another trek up there in the middle of next week, GRRRRR!!!

callgirl that's frustrating to say the least. I managed to get an appointment today (now have bronchitis), drove the 6m or so to have a chest X-ray and waited five minutes for my antibiotics to be dispensed at the chemist. I hope you are not out of your meds if you have to wait till next week. Would just sitting in the surgery till someone agreed to sign it have been an option? I know you said you got a lift there so maybe they couldn't have waited. Very bad service.
Yes it's lovely to keep being told you're loved. My little 5 yr old does that. It melts your heart, doesn't it.

The gorgeous flowers that you so kindly gave me, died very quickly. I'm convinced that it was the silver spray that coated the petals and leaves. I returned them to the florist and told her that the flowers were perfect. It was the spray that killed them. She wanted to reimburse us. I told her that wasn't necessary. I'm hoping that David's flowers were spray-free.
