A very HAPPY day one and all. The sun is beaming down from a clear blue sky. I shall be back to catch up with all of you a little later this afternoon. In the meantime (((hugs))) and

Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company.
Make yourselves comfortable. I shall pop in later with a few treats.
Would you mind if I brrowed the sentiment on that paper cut N&G? I could do with reminding at the moment. Dont you just hate it when life gets complicated? Oh well, the sun is shining, the garden is weeded and the paperwork mountain has shrunk to manageable proportions, so I'll just be happy.

I have just returned having had a lovely lunch out with a friend I have known since we were 11 years old. Luckily there was only one screaming child and today he/she was not close to us. The two children who were at a table next to us were perfectly behaved and they I would think were aged 6 and 8 years old.
I was not the happiest bunny early am. I got up at 7.15am new time and the builder and plumber arrived after 10.30am. I was not amused. As far as I can see not a lot has been done but I do have a new radiator fitted. The fellow is coming tomorrow evening after work so that will be another long day for him as well as me.
The sun is shining here but it is also very cold. At least my washing should be dry soon.
There will surely be a medal waiting in heaven for you Charleygirl and the saints will be requesting lessons in patience.
Your saga has gone on for long enough.
A lovely day here and flowers and chocs from both my offspring.
H is retreating more into his very narrow world more each day.
All the photos are lovely. Thank for sharing.
I've had such a happy day. The most wonderful message from my youngest son (who always manages to get a card into the post at the very last minute) and has, as usual, told me that it's "in transit". Quite honestly, when I read his message, I was quite overcome. No card could possibly make me happier. His words came from the heart. Then the two eldest sons rang, and we talked for a very long time. We laughed and we exchanged loving greetings. I am walking on air!
N&G I cannot resist farm shops. There is always good produce and a pleasant tea shop and unusual gifts and greetings cards. Almost always come away with something that bit different.
corner Thank you. The battered leg is very much improved. Not to look at...but it is a lot less painful when I stand up and walk around. The crutch no longer goes to bed with me. I'm able to manage the short walk from my bed to the bathroom without assistance. MacS made a good job of dressing it yesterday. He took the photo as he's anxious to keep an eye on it's progress. There was a time when we first moved here, that I injured my thumb on a gate latch. Spent two weeks in Oban hospital on a drip of antibio's as I developed grade A Sepsis...which discoloured my arm from the thumb right up my armpit.
Greyduster I'm relieved to hear that you are feeling a lot better than you did. Your husband, like mine, is a star. Do phone your GP. Tell us what he says...
CharleyG You are amazing.
annsixty And you are too.
I can't believe how awful that leg looks. Please take of it and yourself. It sounds as if you are very prone to infection.?
ann So far, so good. I'm thankful that I didn't dislocate either of my hips. I am determined to wear the pretty outfit for my granddaughter's wedding. A big plaster should do the trick.
Well, what a perfectly wonderful day it has been. G&T at six o'clock sharp. We shall sit on the terrace patio and watch the boats go by.
Bye for now. Take very good care of yourselves.

It's been a glorious day in Cheshire. I went for a walk in the gardens at Styal Mill which have been extended since I last saw them and the old glass houses completely re-constructed. It's a sheltered valley and was therefore lovely and warm - temperature in the upper teens according to my car.
What an adorable pup!
soop that picture of your leg made me wince in sympathy. Please keep going very carefully with it and do as MacSporran says, you have a wedding to get to and a posh frock to wear! Those sunset photos are just stunning, I love those big skies.
Ann that pup is so cute. no wonder your family are besotted with him.
Since we're away for s few days and there no children on hand to treat me today the old boy is taking me out for dinner. Happy Mothers Day everyone!
soop I cringed when I saw the picture of your leg! I am glad to hear that it is improving, but - ouch!! Please take care of yourself. I'm glad your son sent you a lovely Mother's Day message. Mine sent me a card that said "Thanks for wiping my bum and stuff" so I sent him back a text and said "just pray you never have to wipe mine!"? He also sent me a second card with a lovely sentiment, 'cos he's a big softie!
Ann what a sweetie he is - I want one!
anno it's nice to see these old structures, like glasshouses, come back to life. The glasshouses in our Botanical Gardens were in a parlous state before they restored them and now they are glorious.
Enjoy your dinner GQ!
Oh Ann how I laughed, I didn't know the little pup was called Stevie !! That is the name of our oldest grandson who is named after his Grampy !! I hope the pup is better behaved than young master Stevie who is flexing his muscles a little and pushing some well understood boundaries !
I am glad your children remembered and spoilt you . I talked with Grampy about your H and his difficulties and he was so sad about all you have to deal with. Its rare I see him so contemplative .
Corner I could make the cut enormous and send it to you for your wall so you remind yourself every time you see it. Its one of those things, we are all such people pleasers that we forget that not everyone is equal in our friendships and family. Never forget to take care of yourself .
Well , Grampy cooked a sterling Sunday roast, I have requested crumpets for tea( have you seen the new giant ones !!) and then a leisurely evening. I have had a wonderful day and hope you all have too x
soop your leg looks painful , please do take care. Good job MacS is in charge.
I love the card Grey but the quick retort was even better !!
Charley you deserved a lovely lunch and glad to hear it was not spoilt by badly behaved little ones.
Stevie is named after Steven Gerrard as the family are Liverpool fans.
Oh soop I was eating my dinner when I picked up your post with the leg photo! ? That looks awful! Please rest this and allow it to recover!
Ann that puppy is cuteness overload! Luckily, I am still very aware of what they leave around the house or I would be pining for another.
Glad the tummy has settled GD. Very upsetting episode. I would have cried too. Sounds like your DH is a very caring man.
Sounds like most of you had a good Mother's Day. My heart goes out to those on GN who have been NC by their offspring. I got cards, flowers and a spa voucher from my lot. Some lovely messages in them ? How lucky I am.
It was a glorious day here. Georgie and I were on our own most of it as DD3 and DH were at GS1's hockey tournament. we went down to the beach and Georgie decided to go for a proper swim, the first since her accident. I was a bit nervous but she coped well until a large wave crashed over her head from the wake of a ferry in Belfast Lough. That decided her that she had had enough. She didn't look like a pedigree spaniel. More like a drowned rat!
DD3 and her boys came round later but her exH came and took GS2 away for dinner out with his mother! DD was a bit down about this. I felt sorry for her.
Stunning sunset out there this evening! Looks like the sky is on fire!
soop that leg looks really nasty. Please take care. Trust MacS wears full nurses uniform when he changes your dressings
ann I love that cuddly puppy. He's gorgeous. I want one ?
Maw amazing to see Flynn up on his feet. It only seems like yesterday he was born!
I am sitting casting longing looks at two lovely boxes of chops that my DS gave me for Mother's Day. I have given up chocolate for lent so can't touch at the moment. I got flowers and a bottle of wine too so have indulged in the latter
CHOPS!!! I did not get chops I got chocs!
That wound looks very painful , do keep it up to help it heal !xxx
I have Chocs here too , and am trying to resist them
and I am sneezing from the lovely flowers !
ann Stevie is gorgeous and no doubt mischievous once he finds his way around.
soop that wound is very nasty- please remember that you have 2 hip replacements so you must not have a whiff of an infection in that wound.
Jud pleased to hear that Georgie is enjoying life again even if she did resemble a drowned rat.
I am very lucky and have been counting my blessings today. DDIL rang this morning to say they were going to Whitstable and would I like to come. No brainer - of course I said yes! It always takes an hour to get out of London wherever we go but once we were into N Kent it was like being in another world. Rather a chill wind when we got out of the car but we had a walk along the seafront before settling behind a breakwater that sheltered us. While DS and DGS threw stones at the sea, DDIL produced bagels, soft cheese and salmon as well as a bottle of prosecco from her bag! Now that's what I call a picnic
(((Hugs))) to you all. Night night
Sounds as if there has been a good day for many. Me too!
Having said that your leg does not look good soop, as charley says, no infection allowed.
I have absorbed your words of wisdom n&g, could be heard muttering them under my breath earlier today. I'll be fine when some complications uncomplicate themselves. One example is convincing people I just can't be in three places at once, no matter who wants me to do what that is so very important to them.
Such good news about Georgie, jud, drowned rat or no, she was having fun and going for it. Good for her.
Stevie pup is adorable ann, earlier I was having the usual circular conversation. One day when we are home more we could have a dog. No. Just a small one. No. One that doesn't moult. Hmm. Well, not really. A rescue dog that is house trained (with crossed fingers behind my back). Hmm, no, well maybe, but not yet. Not for ages if ever. Anyone else lose the will to live with these conversations? I will prevail though
.
crafting, chops made me smile. Had visions of them tied nicely with pale pink ribbon.
Soop, that leg looks horrible, please do all that you`re told, it needs to get better.
Ann, love little Stevie, he`s so cute and cuddly looking!
Well, I`ve been well and truly treated for Mother`s Day. Lynne had flowers delivered, there was a slab of chocolate cake and a small packet of chocolates in with them as well. Rena surprised me with a stone garden statue that I was admiring the other week, I don`t have a garden, it`s for my new kitchen.......when it`s done. It`s what I call a "baby Buddha", a little shaven headed baby boy in the Buddha praying position. Rena and Lynne think he`s ugly, I think he`s adorable! Dawn took me to London and the Albert Hall last Sunday, I thought that was my Mother`s Day present, but today she gave me a box of Black Magic and a lipstick. David got me a box of Lindt chocolates, and Neil gave me 3 bars of chocolate and a bottle of pear cider. Clearly I`m meant to be a fat grandma!
Morning all!
I am grumpy this morning !! I have ordered some card to make birthday decorations for Cooper and I am having a buggeration with deliveries.
I was going to be out on the delivery day last week but there's an option to have it delivered to a shop , so I chose that. They didn't deliver it but said they'd deliver it today. I'm out today so I tried to get them to leave it in a safe place, yes they can do that but not today. Maybe tomorrow.......
So it may, or may not arrive tomorrow.
Anyway , we are off to collect Grampy's new gold plated, diamond encrusted specs( they must be for what they cost - another buggeration !!)
Quite frankly Crafty I'd have loved chops for Mothers Day [laugh]. I got chocs and my blood sugar level reflects that this morning. So they will have to go away and be strictly rationed ...and that's buggeration number 3 !!
I'll be back later in better form I hope
