Baggs Oh dear, buggeration indeed. Try to relax and not get unduly stressed. The family gathering promises to be fun. Laughter is a marvellous tonic.

Galen If my young sister lived in your cul-de-sac, you wouldn't need to ask the police to intervene in the nasty neighbours saga. She is a modern day warrior. She is mistress of the protest march. Banner unfurled. Megaphone at the ready. She doesn't suffer fools kindly. That family would be ready to sell at a ridiculous price in their haste to leave. My sister is twenty one years than I and a heck of a lot feistier.

Galen Tue 27-Jun-17 14:13:04

Would she like to buy a five bedroom bungalow do you think?

soop Tue 27-Jun-17 17:32:30

She swears by Milton Keynes. grin

soop Tue 27-Jun-17 17:35:44

Ironing duty in the morning. Back with you lot in the afternoon. smile moon

Tizliz Tue 27-Jun-17 18:44:18

I am going to give in soon and put the heating on

Baggs Tue 27-Jun-17 19:05:10

We did that this morning, tiz. 11.4° in flaming June!

annodomini Tue 27-Jun-17 19:44:37

The police interviewer must have realised quite quickly that the complaint had been malicious and the nasties should have been warned about wasting police time. I'm not sure that councils can do much about difficult neighbours who are owner-occupiers. If they were in social housing they would be running a risk of eviction. Making complaints about neighbours as unpleasant as these is a risk in itself as they will often take reprisals at the person they suspect of complaining. When I was a CAB advisor I dreaded clients coming in with neighbour issues which are awkward to address.

It may be worth them remembering that any neighbourly disputes have to be declared as part of the legal process of a sale. Or I guess in their case it's more likely should be declared hmm.

Just popping in to check everyone is ok.

And to do a little ma bragging. It was Bertie's sports day yesterday and he swept the board. 3 first places! He is quite fast and, apparently, good at obstacle courses and walking very fast with a bean bag on his head too - they should be Olympic sports!!

Marydoll Wed 28-Jun-17 07:30:23

Proud gransmile

cornergran Wed 28-Jun-17 08:08:23

Well done Bertie. Brag away kitty. smile.

Charleygirl Wed 28-Jun-17 09:25:44

What a handsome young boy "kitty*.

My neighbours had the heating on all day yesterday- it was around 21C here -although it was raining at times it was so muggy. Their house must have resembled a sauna.

It is around 17C here in London and still muggy. Hopefully I will not need heating for a while because my boiler appears to be having a holiday. The light is on but there is nobody at home. With luck it will not be permanent. It does need to be serviced but that cannot be done until this lot have moved out permanently.

NanaandGrampy Wed 28-Jun-17 13:53:36

Afternoon all !

Had a horrible day yesterday for one reason or another. Suffice it to say everything I touched went to hell in a hand basket. So hers hoping for slightly better day today.

Well done Bertie* Kitty* an athlete in the making obviously !!

Its much cooler here today so hope we get back to something a tad warmer quickly.

Sam is poorly again , so the new food , even carefully put in his diet is not helping. The only reason that we changed was because the behaviourist thought it would help. So I'm sorry but we are reverting to the diet he has been on for the last 4 years with no trouble !!

As one of yesterdays buggerations I managed to think the behaviourist was visiting when in fact its the 27th July !!!

I should have gone back to bed yesterday and stayed there for the day!!

soop Wed 28-Jun-17 14:24:16

A cheery good afternoon to you lovely lot. I'm resting after a morning's ironing. I do so love returning to our peaceful wee hoos.

kitty Bertie has done himself proud. Brag away...it's good to have something worthwhile to celebrate.

Welcome Marydoll I hope that you'll find us lot reasonably sane normal. Sit yourself down and we'll make you feel very comfortable...providing the resident cat - Rory, can be coaxed off the chaise. He's an alpha cat. Bossy and stubborn and thoroughly pampered. wink

Charleyg We recently had a boiler maintenance man call to deal with our wayward boiler. The bill was a little over £60. The same problem cropped up again last week. MacSporran looked into matters and discovered an air lock. hmm

Snap! *NanaandGrampy, I also had one of those days. By six o'clock I was mentally exhausted. I trust that today will be kinder to you.

Greyduster Wed 28-Jun-17 18:38:31

Erm, the back door was open.... is there room for a little one?

annsixty Wed 28-Jun-17 19:06:20

Plenty of room and so pleased to see you here again.

Charleygirl Wed 28-Jun-17 19:29:11

I ma going to open a bottle of wine this evening as I fancy a glass or three of wine with my supper.

I now have an electrically safe house- the electrician was here again today to sort out problems he found in light switches upstairs. The first electrician who left my home a 100% fire risk should be shot at dawn and that would be too good for him.

I am having a week's rest. The work is not finished but it is mainly tiling and painting. I will not be forking out any more large sums of money- the money tree has withered and died. It is time now to investigate that strange word "save". Hopefully I will sleep well tonight.

cornergran Wed 28-Jun-17 19:35:17

Good news charley, you deserve a glass or three wine.

cornergran Wed 28-Jun-17 19:36:10

Hello, greyduster. Good to see you back.

annsixty Wed 28-Jun-17 19:59:54

Oh dear charleygirl I cant believe your problems arent yet over. You really have the patience of a flight of saints.
For all of you with problems I send my best wishes I am dealing with the same but I am sure we will overcome it all and come out of the other side on top.

Swanny Wed 28-Jun-17 20:07:48

charley that is really good news - do you mind if I join you in a glass? No need to go into my excuses reasons, just sufficient to say it's been a stressful time lately and I wish I had a Tara to comfort me by her presence. Good health wine !

Marydoll Wed 28-Jun-17 21:32:56

Soop thanks for the kind welcome. I usually stick to the game threads, as I am relatively new. You seem a lovely bunch.

Galen Wed 28-Jun-17 21:40:42

we most of us are!

Charleygirl Wed 28-Jun-17 22:05:49

Swanny Tara is out all day, runs in around 8pm for a bite to eat and then rushes upstairs to bed to rest her eyes. She rarely spends any time with me when I am watching TV or whatever.

MawBroon Wed 28-Jun-17 23:14:24

Looking forward to catching up,on everybody's news but just back, exhausted but had a LOVELY time. Gotland looks a bit like a flat Kintyre - pine trees, sea, clear blue waters, blue skies, wonderfully fresh air and kindly people.
"Feca" with cardamon and cinnamon buns went down well too!
"Feca " seems to equate to brew and cupcake so Sweden is like a GIANT Soop's Kitchen!!

(The "sunset" was well after 10.30 at night, the other pics are looking out from DD and SIL's house and wee man with his other grandpa)
