being very brave here and starting the new kitchen, not too hot here so I can manage the move OK

annodomini Wed 28-Jun-17 23:21:01

kitty, that's not bragging. It's stating a fact. Bertie is a promising competitor - different events require different skills: he is a versatile young man. Cheers! wine

callgirl1 Wed 28-Jun-17 23:30:14

Kitty, Bertie is a lovely looking lad, with a cheerful little face, keep on being proud of him.
MawB, beautiful photos, glad you had a lovely time, and are safely back home now.

Galen Wed 28-Jun-17 23:53:34

Maw welcome back. Presume * Paw* survived your absence

cornergran Thu 29-Jun-17 06:46:56

Beautiful scenery mawb, sounds a wonderful place. So pleased your visit went well and you are safely home. Was pawb pleased to see you return? Hope you can stay relaxed for a while.

kittylester Thu 29-Jun-17 06:54:25

Hello gd - lovely to see you again. brew

Welcome back Maw, lovely photos. I hope *Paw is ok.

You are being very calm Charley - I'm impressed!

Welcome to the kitchen, Marydoll. Do join in.flowers

Charleygirl Thu 29-Jun-17 07:52:34

Pleased to hear that you had a good time MawB. Did Paw grumble his way through the week with his sister in charge?!

Please put your feet up and do not overdo it.

I enjoyed my two glasses of wine last night with delicious sirloin steak and slept like a baby until 6.30am. I have an appointment with a hoover today I think.

I appreciate the little things in life like a working light in the downstairs loo and a temporary ceiling with no nasty draughts or is it drafts?

kittylester Thu 29-Jun-17 08:03:08

It's a hard life for a kitten!

Marydoll Thu 29-Jun-17 08:29:04

I am just popping in to say hello, as I'm a relative newbie to GN. I don't want to seem pushy, so I will bide my time and get to know you all, by "lurking" in the background for a while.
The kitchen seems a lovely quiet, calm kitchen, unlike mine.grinIt seems haven from the more "lively" areas of GN.That's good! smile

Marydoll Thu 29-Jun-17 08:30:13

Last bit was meant to say, "That's good!" confused

NanaandGrampy Thu 29-Jun-17 09:01:29

Good morning all !

Just getting ready to meet another GN for coffee and hopefully to see pictures of her new grandbabies !

Welcome back Grey !

I think a rest would do you good Charley !
Must be something in the air Swanny , hope you feel less under pressure today.

Morning * Marydoll* , pull up a chair we love a good chat! It is a bit of oasis when all around is going to hell in a handbasket ( whether that's the whole world, just the UK or GN smile). There are pets available for virtual borrowing ( and sometimes DH's too !!)

What glorious views Maw I am totally envious , welcome home .

Kitty what a cute kitten , we are not huge cat people but that one looks like a sweetie . Our little boys are desperate for a cat but their Dad and Mum have very different ideas about what is required.

Well, I had better get myself sorted - have a good day one and all !

Tizliz Thu 29-Jun-17 11:59:30

Quiet in here today. Seemed to have lots of little jobs this morning so having a brew before starting the jobs I had planned (vacuuming, clean sheets, bathroom cleaning). Then fish pie for dinner. Glad to go to work tomorrow for a rest!

kittylester Thu 29-Jun-17 12:24:55

Just to raise a smile - and we need one today after the CMS awarded DD3 £7 pw for the children!!

In Sainsbury's

Me: Oh, Persie, you so look tired!
Persie: I'm not tired, that's my bored face!

soop Thu 29-Jun-17 12:30:47

Greyduster There is a chair with your name on it. Marydoll you also have a reserved chair in the kitchen. We're not a bad bunch. A trifle crazy (at times)no names mentioned hmm but harmless with it. grin

A big welcome back hug for you, Maw The photos are lovely.

Text from our Baggs earlier. She was at Glasgow station. Some travel in store but she's def on her way to the family gathering. sunshine

soop Thu 29-Jun-17 12:38:42

Charleyg Read my lips... You will get there...

kitty Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

NanaandGrampy 'going to hell in a handbasket' That is such a funny expression.

kitty We all have 'a bored face' grin

Galen Thu 29-Jun-17 12:42:42

speak for yourself soop
I can tell you I have certificates. That shows I'm sane!

annsixty Thu 29-Jun-17 12:54:28

I hope your D has big plans for her largesse awarded by the CMS kitty
I am still in a quandary about the extra 25p a week I will be getting on my OAP when my b'day arrives. It isn't a decision to rush into even though I have known for a few months now. Spend it or save it, spend it or....

Charleygirl Thu 29-Jun-17 13:06:28

N&G Please let me get one thing straight- sometimes husbands are maligned, especially yours but borrow a DH? Absolutely and definitely not.

I think that the strain of the past 7 months is beginning to hit me because although I slept well, I was up at 6.30am.mainly to let Tara out.

I was sitting in my chair, drinking coffee, waiting for a parcel- the next thing I knew, over an hour later a noise wakening me and it was the delivery man ringing the doorbell. He kindly brought my heavy parcel a ( bike box) indoors and he must have wondered what type of slut lived here.

kitty what is the name of that gorgeous sleeping beauty? You have probably mentioned before but my own name is practically all that I am capable of remembering.

Galen when on earth did you receive your certificates? It must have been a long queue, the person exhausted and also needing a trip to Spec Savers. I hate to tell you that you are like the rest of us- I have forgotten the expression but something along the lines of being very sweet but not meaning it.

Welcome Marydoll do not sit in the shadows, please come into the kitchen and have a word with Rory at the very least.

I am seriously exhausted and may retire to bed.

soop Thu 29-Jun-17 13:15:22

annsixty Think big. The 25p's will add up. That's a whopping £91.25 per annum.

Nelliemoser Thu 29-Jun-17 13:19:40

I have not been on here for ages. So I am making up for this by having a really good old moan.

I know it's silly but once I have not been posting I feel like an outsider. I assure you this is me not any of you.

I know am still upset about the loss of my budgies particularly as I have no real idea how they died but I have decided not to replace them.

I was doing a lot of gardening which kept me busy (and relaxed) then it got far too hot for that and the soil too dry. It has been overcast for days and now it's been raining for two days and I still can't get out into the garden.

Our Choir concert last Saturday with the fairly new musical director was predictably dire. Most of the pieces were too hard and under-rehearsed and the program items just did not seem to have any coherent theme.

This is the second full year of this conductor's concerts I don't think this coca-cola caffeine addicted conductor is up to it. It is not good.
I am trying one more season there as I like the people. I probably will switch.

With luck there is now an excellent choral society nearer home and a new and tested more dynamic conductor for the community choir. I probably will switch.

The original conductor must be so upset that the great concerts he used to run have deteriorated so much.
It's a good job I am anonymous.

Sorry about the rant. Setting it down has helped me feel less miserable. Can you lot stop the rain as well please?

I have to say my garden looks quite good despite the squirrels digging in my pots. This is mainly what I have been doing when not on GN.

annsixty Thu 29-Jun-17 13:33:50

soop I only make it £13 a year it is a week not a day.
Not even enough for a decent bottle of gin?
Sorry life is less than joyful nellie but your garden is lovely and a source of pride for you.?

Tizliz Thu 29-Jun-17 13:36:41

soop I think it is 25p a week not a day. A grand total of £13 a year

soop Thu 29-Jun-17 13:49:06

Buggerations galore! Why did I multiply the sum by 365. blush Clears throat and pretends it was a slip of the finger! wink

soop Thu 29-Jun-17 13:51:06

Nellie You are one of us lot. You have not "ranted". It's good to have you back. The garden looks amazing.

annodomini Thu 29-Jun-17 14:06:45

Lovely pictures, Maw. You seem to have been away for no time at all. The 'wee man' isn't so wee now and a toddler to boot! Glad you have enjoyed your stay - you needed and deserved your break.

Charleygirl Thu 29-Jun-17 14:09:59

OMG ann you must think long and hard about that amount of money and not make any rash decisions. The annual amount is mind blowing- why not buy a decent bottle of wine?

Nellie what a beautiful garden- could I entice you here to fill a few flower pots?
