Here we go again...

Congratulations to you ann, flowers. Pleased the procedure was straightforward. I recognise those conversations greyduster, sometimes funny, sometimes oh so frustrating. Hope Rory enjoys his supper today and a relaxed sleep Soop, please try not to wear yourself out.

soop Wed 02-Aug-17 17:52:05

Greyduster I'm laughing out loud. Thanks for that.

annsixty Feet up and a small glass of wine would not go amiss.

Rory won't be leaving his cat cave for any reason other than to enjoy a treat...because, as MacS tells him throughout the day - you're a verrrrrry good boy. Last night he slept on a cushion close to MacS who sleeps in a reclining chair (he has bad cramps if he lies down). About a week ago, Rory could manage to climb on a low stool and then onto MacS's lap. He can't do that now. His back legs buckle. He likes being as close as poss to MacS and he purrs with pleasure. Rory...not MacS wink

Happy Anniversary Ann, an achievement to be proud of, just think about happier times today. I`m so pleased that your medical procedure went well. Now relax.
Soop, all best wishes to you both, and to Ruaridh, bless him, I hope he is comfortable.
My Son-in-law has put the first coat on the kitchen walls, my daughter doesn`t like the colour, but I do, so there! I`m sending you lot a couple of views of the coloured walls, what do YOU think? Ooops, sorry, I should have washed up first!

jollyg Wed 02-Aug-17 18:31:55

Soop Rory[english] is a most beloved family member.

If he cant jump up . What about a ramp. Sloping piece of wood, perhaps carpet on top to allow himself to walk up.

Or a similar bit of wood with ramen to replicate a ladder, again angle dependant.

McS should know about Ramen........ not Tesco noodles

Greyduster Wed 02-Aug-17 19:11:46

We painted the kitchen in the first house we had that was not an Army quarter the same colour as that, callgirl. It's a colour to cheer you up! We had a new kitchen put in here just over two years and we still haven't really decided what colour to paint the walls. We just left them white - for now! We were talking about it the other day, oddly enough, as they could do with another coat of something!

kittylester Wed 02-Aug-17 19:46:03

We had a tongue a groove wall in our last house stained that colour and everyone remarked on how cheerful it was.

Charleygirl Wed 02-Aug-17 20:00:19

My kitchen walls are green- I like the colour- I do not really care what others think!

I like your kitchen including the wall colour.

MawBroon Wed 02-Aug-17 20:16:19

I'm another one with yellow kitchen/diner walls. Actually called itself Farrow&Ball Cream, but it's a golden yellow and I find it sunny but restful and it goes with everything.

Jalima1108 Wed 02-Aug-17 20:55:26

I like it callgirl especially with the black and white.

We have a black and white ensuite and I think that yellow towels etc could look rather nice (but I have been banned from buying more towels).

callgirl1 Wed 02-Aug-17 21:47:51

Thank you people. Daughter 2 said it was completely wrong, that I should have pale grey, and my sister said I should have white or grey. I originally picked a pale lemon, but it was too pale on the wall, this colour is called Happy Yellow, it lives up to it`s name, because it`s nice and cheerful.

I'm a bit late catching up with you lot today but couldn't leave without sending many congratulations to you ann. Your H may not remember the date but I'm sure he'll feel comforted by your presence just as he always has.

soop - my love to you and MacS and Rory. We're all going to miss him when his time comes sad

N&G I hope Herbert and Sherbert pick up soon, it can't be much fun feeling unwell during school holidays. BTW, I used to refer to DS as Herbert while he was still an unborn bump grin

Sorry I've not responded to more conversations but just too tired tonight. Sleep well folks moon

annsixty Wed 02-Aug-17 22:36:42

Good vibes to all tonight who are tired and despondent.
My lovely GD is here tonight and tomorrow she is taking me to London for a night in a hotel and a meal tomorrow night at Marco Pierre Whites restaurant. She really is a star.
My Son is looking after H which is a bit fraught, but I need the break and my GD is so looking forward to taking me.

Charleygirl Wed 02-Aug-17 22:45:22

ann what a lovely day to look forward to tomorrow. Even the rail journey will be a treat because you will have no worries and your GD will be with you. That will be a meal to remember.

Maybe your DS will realise what you have to put up with 52 weeks of the year and to date you have kept your sanity- I would have been admitted somewhere and it would be a toss up between a psychiatric unit or a prison! I know which one!

Jalima1108 Wed 02-Aug-17 22:54:57

annsixty 59 years is quite some achievement, well done, and I hope you have a lovely break in London with your DGD.

Just popped in for a quick peek, can't read all through today's posts now but I can't go without adding my congratulations to you Ann it's an achievement indeed for you both. So much you've experienced through the ups and downs of all those years. You'll feel sad your dh can't recall it now but I hope you can enjoy remembering the happiness you shared together albeit with tears in your eyes.
What a lovely trip you have to look forward tomorrow, I hope you're able relax as much as you can and enjoy being spoiled by your thoughtful granddaughter x

ann. Have a great night out, a lovely journey down, and enjoy your GD's company. And congratulations too!

annsixty Thu 03-Aug-17 07:31:22

Thankyou all, you are very kind and thoughtful.
My Son does know what hard work his father is, he is not able to deal with it. He just thinks it's a fact of life and I should just accept and get on with it.
Neither of my C realise just how old I am as I have always been a coper and got on with life and they think I will always be able to do so. A compliment in a way but I might like a bit of TLC at times.
Actually , in this , they both take after their Father!!!

kittylester Thu 03-Aug-17 07:37:22

Have an absolutely fabulous day Ann. DH and your son will be fine. sunshine

Greyduster Thu 03-Aug-17 07:44:47

Enjoy your day, Ann. We shall look forward to hearing all about it. Marco Pierre White's! Wow!?

MawBroon Thu 03-Aug-17 08:48:17

A day away is a tonic in itself - a night when you don't need to be listening out, when there is only you. But how I wish your C would see that a regular commitment on their part even only a night per month each would give you a chance to get your breath back sad
You should not just be expected to "get on with it" unsupported.

Charleygirl Thu 03-Aug-17 09:16:19

MawB has Hattie settled in now and I do hope that room and waitress service are up to scratch. One would not want standards to slip!

annsixty Thu 03-Aug-17 09:19:31

MPW is my ex DiL's b'day present to me. Just waiting for the taxi now.

MawBroon Thu 03-Aug-17 09:23:39

I think this makes the point?
She does not really enjoy being left during the day (rarely more than 2-3hours, I feel bad about it so I do try) but doesn't make a huge fuss, and is quiet when I get back. Nights are fine, with the occasional let out (last night it was at 4) I respond as it is brilliant that she is House trained but suspect she may not actually NEED it however daren't call her bluff!
She is a sweet natured dog in every respect!

Charleygirl Thu 03-Aug-17 09:38:04

Hattie loves "that" rug and it is nice to see her sunning herself outside.
