Yay!
Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company.

Charleygirl Thu 07-Sept-17 11:53:36

Galen I hope that you and downsized enjoy your latest cruise. Which part of the world should we avoid?!

Maw at least you do not have the twice daily drive to the local- you can sit down with a cup of coffee and tell Hattie what a gorgeous girl she is. Soon she will be at Paw's chair side, fast asleep for hours on end.

Galen Thu 07-Sept-17 12:01:54

Avoid the Med at all costs

Charleygirl Thu 07-Sept-17 12:04:10

I do hope that the weather is decent- if not you can always drown your sorrows in champagne.

devongirl Thu 07-Sept-17 12:52:58

No word from soop about Rory? Hope it's not too sad news sad

Charleygirl Thu 07-Sept-17 13:17:23

soop is working at present.

soop Thu 07-Sept-17 14:40:37

Welcome Jane10. I've only just this minute returned home. I do a morning's ironing for my pal who runs a busy guest house.
Cats (and dogs) are a bit special in this 'ere kitchen.
Rory, our cat (that was at one time living in a feral commune in the woodland) is proper poorly. Yet, he refuses to give up. His hind legs no longer support him as they should. Otherwise, his appetite is good and his sleep peaceful. We wish to continue to care for him as long as we're able. At he first sign of distress, we call the vet. So, we continue to soldier on.

soop Thu 07-Sept-17 14:45:01

Galen and downsized Have yourselves a right royal boat trip. Will you be sharing the butler? Can you pay extra for one each? grin

Maw You are coping well. As time goes by your confidence will increase. I'm truly happy that your Paw is back in his own chair, right where he belongs.

soop Thu 07-Sept-17 14:50:32

One of my sons gave me a voucher for my birthday. With it I treated myself to a pair of casual shoes. With £5 remaining, I ordered a short wig (from China). It's to help me decide whether or not to have a short hair do. What do you lot think?

Juliette Thu 07-Sept-17 15:02:31

Called in at the right time after being away for a few days,

Glad to hear that paw is home and that Rory is living to fight another day.

This is our current 'rescued from a good home' lodger.

The Victor Meldrew of the canine world. He's glad to be home too, bit of a lightweight when it comes to wet weather, happiest when snoozing, preferably on the sofa.

MawBroon Thu 07-Sept-17 15:17:58

I prefer the long hair, very elegant and very Phyllida Law but I appreciate that it might be a higher maintenance option. The wig is great though!
My late MIL grew her hair in her 50/60's and it was always very elegant.
I think she would have been in her late 70's in this pic.

soop Thu 07-Sept-17 15:19:05

Juliette That's one very lucky, handsome boy. What is his name?

Here is Rory. The cat that has given us so much pleasure over the five years since he moved in and took over!

soop Thu 07-Sept-17 15:20:29

I agree, Maw. I bought the wig for a joke. My own hair is very much finer and fluffier. wink

Baggs Thu 07-Sept-17 15:43:08

I think the wig really suits you, soop. I might need to borrow it as I'm going bald.

annodomini Thu 07-Sept-17 15:57:36

I like the wig as it suits your face shape and personality. You're lucky because you look good either way.

Greyduster Thu 07-Sept-17 16:05:46

I really like the wig Soop, but I think you should ditch the beard grin. Glad to hear that Rory is still soldiering on!

soop Thu 07-Sept-17 16:29:43

Baggs What's mine is yours. You know that.

anno I've lots of thin hair. It has little body to it. When I was a young lassie I wore it razor cut short. Too many wrinkles these days.

Greyduster I've a feeling that MacSporran will delight a few unsuspecting pals. He had tight, red curls as a lad!

Swanny Thu 07-Sept-17 17:05:09

I'm with you Greyduster in thinking soop should definitely get rid of that beard grin

I've kept my hair quite short for years but have decided to grow it longer again in hope that the longer length will disguise my triple double chin grin

MawBroon Thu 07-Sept-17 17:31:13

Talking of red curls......

soop Thu 07-Sept-17 17:35:00

Swanny I've a thin neck that def shows my age! Never mind, aye...

Maw Trust you to come up with the goods. grin

MawBroon Thu 07-Sept-17 17:42:35

He reckons he looks like his Dadda!

Charleygirl Thu 07-Sept-17 17:45:35

Juliette what a gorgeous fellow you have resting his eyes. What is his name?

Rory is as handsome as ever and as for Flynn, he is growing taller by the day. One out of three awake cannot be too bad.

callgirl1 Thu 07-Sept-17 17:53:18

Flynn`s hair`s grown quickly, lol!
Soop, the wig is very nice, but your own hair is much nicer, and prettier. You don`t really suit the beard though!
We had a little black and white cat in the yard earlier, really TEENY, but it had the loudest miaow I`ve ever heard! I was trying to persuade it to come out from behind the wheelie bin when a young woman and 2 little boy came looking for it/her. No sign today of the trouble maker..........yet.

soop Thu 07-Sept-17 18:14:18

I meant to say to wot that Us lot are rooting for her. Each new day is just that. You've done with the old stuff and deserve much better times ahead. flowers

Charleyg The photo of Rory was taken in his prime. He's such a trooper. The determined look on his face as he covers the short/wobbly walk from the cat cave to his cushion in the kitchen, speaks volumes.

callgirl1 Thank you for telling us that the kitten's owner has reclaimed her. I've enough cat worries at the moment.

Bye for now. Take care and I hope to catch up with you all again tomorrow. smile moon

Charleygirl Thu 07-Sept-17 19:22:31

soop he is determined to keep going until the end- I thought that it was a photo taken in one of his earlier lives.

That minx of mine is still out- she has lovely fresh bedding which she hates and a fresh litter tray which she will love.

Crafting Thu 07-Sept-17 19:52:33

I am assuming jane10 left the kitchen as she posted something about cats and no one made any comment. jane sometimes it's like that for most of us. Posts get crossed, others pop into the kitchen and don't have time to read back everything. soop makes an effort to reply to everyone and replied to you when she was next in the kitchen. Don't feel excluded or left out just keep posting. We are here and some posts get comments and some don't.

maw so glad paw is home and you are coping ok.

Have a good cruise Galen

Love the wig soop ? But I like your long hair.
