Just popped in with a photo' for downsizred

This is the lovely Harry rescued from a good home when he was six months old. He was the most gentle and loving JRT.
The similarity to Buzz is amazing they could be litter mates.
He lived with us for ten years, still miss him.

What a lovely little girl Persie is, and such a gorgeous smile.
He`s not such a puppy now Downsized!
Glad that Paw is doing well, but he needs to be so much better before he comes home.
Do you know, Mia hasn`t been near the stairlift since it became "available" again last night, maybe the fad is over.
My daughter number 3 and her hubby own a bungalow in Spain, but haven`t visited for a year due to her hubby being poorly. Last night she had a text from someone they made friends with who has a house opposite theirs, and is on holiday at the moment. She asked if anyone is in the house right now, Dawn said not, she said "not even mates of Robbie`s?", Dawn said nobody was there. Then the woman said that there`s a group of lads there, towels and swimwear hung out to dry, and a French reg car parked outside! There are 2 keys, Dawn has one, and the other is held by a couple who used to live in the house next door permanently, but have now moved a mile away, they keep an eye on the house for her. She rang them, and the husband said he`d go round and check, got back to her later to say everything was OK. So now she`s wondering and worrying about what`s going on.

Apologies to MacSporran. Finger is trigger happy.

It's goodnight from me. Tomorrow...the first day of September. smile moon

soop Thu 31-Aug-17 17:46:04

Lovely photos of Hattie and Buzz.

crafting MacSorran a retired architect, is designing a ramp. It's in the "I'm thinking" stage.

Galen I'm trying to recall the exact words my ex boss ( a pharmacist) used when advising a customer to be prone when using some treatment or other. Can't remember what it was. Customer responded, should I be horizontal or vertical? Chemist said...on your back is advisable. It doesn't seem as funny as it did at the time. I hooted at the time. grin

Charleygirl Thu 31-Aug-17 17:36:28

Maw you forget that every athlete needs to rest.

downsized Buzz is adorable no doubt he behaves impeccably.

corner you should be looking after numero uno for a change and forget about filing and alien stuff like that (to me).

You need a rest if you are having another onslaught of GC tomorrow and no doubt the weekend.

Negotiating a new mobile contract is worse than changing gas and electricity suppliers- I always find that straightforward- maybe because I am now a past master at it.

annsixty Thu 31-Aug-17 17:32:01

Tears in the eyes time again kitty with that photograph of Persie, just takes me back, she is lovely.
Had a very enjoyable meeting today with a fellow "kitchener"
We got on so well.
It is so nice to put a face to a name.

cornergran Thu 31-Aug-17 17:16:53

Please stop it with the dog images - I'm getting envious again smile Lovely animals.

Talking of being lovely so is Persie, as is her back seat comment kitty, I agree, that comment is a keeper.

Pleased Rory is in good spirits soop, hes not the ony one who needs help with a climb hmm

I'm also thinking about filing maw, thinking being the operative word. No children today so the fridge is re-stocked ready for tomorrow and the necessary admin is done. Filing isn't classed as necessary today, it will need to be soon as the tray is sort of full. Pleased paw is picking up again, although the dire rear would be better gone by the time he comes home. I know you won't let them discharge him if he's not well enough and have crossed fingers for you both.

My achievement today is re-negotiating my mobile contract, it took an hour - yes, an hour - but I got what I wanted in the end and my existing provider matched an offer from a competitor. I always knew they would, so did they, so why do they make it so hard?

Congratulations on the weight loss n&g, no chance here today as the admin has required not one but two lots of chocolate to help the process along. Oh well, tea is sort of healthy, well, sort of grin

Talking of tea best get on with it. Children back tomorrow so loins to be girded in readiness. (How do you do that?) Take care all.

On the subject of 'pampered pets'. Yesterday, in my Facebook memories, up popped a photo of the puppy I adopted from Sicily one year ago precisely.
Here is the photo plus a more recent one of Buzz. He has grown, hasn't he grin

downsized Thu 31-Aug-17 16:30:13

kittylester what an absolute poppet your little DGD is. Totally adorable smile

MawBroon Thu 31-Aug-17 16:19:58

I see that somebody is having a go at my namesake on the Note to Self thread.
At least I assume it is my namesake??? hmm

MawBroon Thu 31-Aug-17 16:11:38

Remember Hattie was bred as an athlete, a 40mph couch potato!!

Galen Thu 31-Aug-17 15:59:15

I presume Hattie does stand up occasionally? Or does she suffer from postural hypotension necessitating the horizontal position?

Crafting Thu 31-Aug-17 15:35:18

Lovely photo of Persie. Hope she enjoys school.

soop poor Rory could you make some sort of ramp for him? A bit like dog owners have for their dogs to climb into the car.

Fingers crossed for paw being on the mend. Have a rest maw. Time to snuggle with Hattie not do the filing. ?

Charleygirl Thu 31-Aug-17 15:32:04

Maw I am delighted to hear it. I am well aware that Hattie could teach you some tricks of the trade. As long as she is comfortable that is what really matters. Has she found her way to a bedroom yet? That is Tara's first preference.

MawBroon Thu 31-Aug-17 15:26:38

It seems like the day before yesterday Persia was born!!!
Are you sure she is old enough?
Fear not Charley this is in fact us this afternoon grin

soop Thu 31-Aug-17 15:05:44

kitty Persie is a beautiful lassie. Such a lovely smile. x

Charleygirl Thu 31-Aug-17 14:48:41

I agree, a lovely young lady. Does she realise how many years she has to attend? 2-3 years ago one of my neighbour's sons was less than impressed when he discovered he had to return for week 2 and many more.

Maw I think that you need to look after yourself and filing is not on that agenda.

soop sorry to hear that Rory is having problems jumping on the bed, he tries so hard, he will not give up.

aggie Thu 31-Aug-17 14:24:42

What a sweetie , gorgeous smile xx

kittylester Thu 31-Aug-17 14:19:32

Just off out but I knew you'd all be dying to see Persie ready for her first session at school. Back later.

MawBroon Thu 31-Aug-17 13:46:46

Hattie has overcome her "guilt" about getting up,on the sofa (as if!) and snuggled up beside me last night to watch Bake Off plus whatever else as I didn't have the heart to disturb her! Like a BIG hot water bottle - what's not to like?
paw's weight is turning (just) and there is the carrot of coming home on Monday, but oh dear the "dire rear" has not cleared up yet sad
Is it because it is a lovely sunny, if slightly autumnal day, but I do feel my spirits lifting at last.
I am going to tackle the FILING when I get home this afternoon as paw was not up to dealing with any mail for several weeks before he went into hospital and since his admission I have jut piled it up on a capacious tray. It is mostly a case of punching and filing (wish I could tackle my own pile of stuff, but other people's paperwork is always easier than my own!)
I do feel virtuous. ???
Or else I might have a nap in front of Escape to the Country?? ?

soop Thu 31-Aug-17 12:48:13

What a lovely start to my day. Thank you one and all for your amusing and informative posts. You have put yet another grin on my face. In fact, you lot are better than any tonic.

Rory had a bit of a struggle getting on to the bed to share our early morning cup of tea routine. He didn't have tea, mind. He simply likes the company and full-on fuss that his presence deserves. His rear legs continue to give him mobility problems. We do put low stools beside the bed. Even so, MacSporran invariably has to give him a bit of a lift. When it comes to getting off the bed...more stumbles when his paddy paws land on the wood flooring. However, in spirit, he's in fine fettle.

Charleygirl Thu 31-Aug-17 12:24:07

You have never needed a ticked before N&G*- I think the secret is to get there early, get the shoes fitted and out of the door. Jackson has a superb carrot of orange squash and a macaroonie so I doubt if there will be any fuss. May I come too as I also need a pair of shoes.

NanaandGrampy Thu 31-Aug-17 12:05:23

Love that one Kitty !! Its a keeper for the Big Book of Baby Sayings !!

Apparently the ticket is needed to escape the hordes all trying to buy school shoes Charley .I am unconvinced !!

harrigran Thu 31-Aug-17 11:15:41
