Have you got children? How old are they? At 50 they could still be quite young

Mine are grown up, in their 29s. If I still felt broody I think I’d foster, but it depends on your job and family circumstances

JaneJudge Sun 02-Feb-25 18:57:19

I don’t think it’s unusual tbh

Nope. Never have done and never will do (thank goodness) now I'm in my seventies.

LOUISA1523 Sun 02-Feb-25 19:08:29

Ooh no....59 and eldest GD now 9 ....baby days we'll behind me

Cossy Sun 02-Feb-25 19:18:35

I’m 66 and yes, I’d still like babies haha

PS Five children between us, just one DGS (so far 🙏🤞) and I make do with dogs haha 🐶🐶🐶🐶🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

Do you have any children?

tanith Sun 02-Feb-25 19:25:36

No absolutely not, my grownup GC are regulary having babies now so i can cuddle them and give them back, suits me. 😂
I too wondered if you do have childrem?

charley68 Sun 02-Feb-25 19:29:38

Definitely not broody, but I just love seeing babies, little toddlers and young children watching their adoring parents with equal adoring eyes. So lovely to see, and makes me smile.
Some toddlers will catch my eye in the supermarket, and will smile and make me smile too.

Jaxjacky Sun 02-Feb-25 19:31:25

No way!

Babs03 Sun 02-Feb-25 19:31:40

Am well over 50, am 67, 68 this year, so my broody days were over a long time ago.
I suggest getting a dog.

NotSpaghetti Sun 02-Feb-25 19:33:50

No.
I feel I've done my time with babies
I have had five children (now adults) and seven grandchildren who I love - but don't want to be their mother.

Enough is enough! 😂

Harris27 Sun 02-Feb-25 19:38:08

Well I’m still working at 65 work in preschool room and it gives me my fix!

flappergirl Sun 02-Feb-25 19:44:19

Definitely not! I have one child who is now nearly 50. Naturally I love him beyond words but I've never been child orientated and don't particularly enjoy kids. I've never been one to go out of my way to engage with other people's children except obviously with my son's friends when he was younger. I have no grandchildren and that really does suit me fine, although nobody ever believes me. I'd far rather look after a room full of puppies or kittens than babies.

RosieandherMaw Sun 02-Feb-25 19:45:00

Nooooooooooo!

Indigo8 Sun 02-Feb-25 19:46:39

I love my GCs dearly and see them several times a week but I am quite happy that I am not their mother and I don't live with them.

Claremont Sun 02-Feb-25 19:53:08

Broody, oh NO!

AreWeThereYet Sun 02-Feb-25 20:03:53

No. I think the closest I get is nostalgia for holding my own tiny babes whenever I hold someone else's baby. Doesn't last long though. Generally happy to be baby free now.

MissAdventure Sun 02-Feb-25 20:11:29

I'd much rather have a kitten. smile

Could your feelings be caused by hormonal issues perhaps?

Oldbat1 Sun 02-Feb-25 20:11:49

It is a definite no from me!

pinkprincess Sun 02-Feb-25 20:18:48

I am 80 and am a great grandma.I love seeing babies and holding them, but I have not got the energy now to be caring for them full time

Rainbow1235 Sun 02-Feb-25 20:18:57

I’m 54 with 6 adult children . My 33 year old son has autism so will always live with me but he’s amazing so it’s no hardship . I have 5 grandchildren and happy with that . Hopefully no more babies to come my way grin

Tenko Sun 02-Feb-25 20:28:30

Nope, I’m not a gran yet , if it happens , lovely , if not , that’s fine too .

Sadgrandma Sun 02-Feb-25 20:41:01

I never have been broody not even before or after having my daughter who wasn’t planned but who I loved with all my heart the moment she was born and the same goes for my granddaughter.
January2025b, I think you are probably menopausal so perhaps you could foster or help out at a mother and baby group. Hopefully you will become a grandmother at some time.
