Joanna Lumley on hair and other things

Joanna Lumley has a striking face and a striking personality so she can get away with messy hair. I cut my fringe once and it was dreadful; never again. As long as I can afford it I will have my hair cut and coloured (grey with highlights) professionally.

I like the fun element of playing with hair colour. Even if it’s only withsubtle choices between shades of mid blonde. light brown whatever there’s still something creative about it all that I enjoy.

Joanna Lumley has truly awful hair, only surpassed by Camilla’s.

Camilla's is a darn sight better than Joanna's!
I do like them both, however.

I cut my fringe and DH cut my hair once during lockdown but no, I prefer going to a professional and don't colour it.

I will never ‘embrace the grey’ - it adds 10+ years on any woman.
I love Joanna Lumley & think she’s still beautiful. ( & she was brilliant in absolutely fabulous )

I’ll probably get shot down but I always think her hair looks a bit of a mess.

I have embraced my grey/white hair with pride. Besides, I think one’s complexion changes with age, and hair colour matches it. I would never ever dye it.

I love it when JL tells us she does her own hair most of the time, cutting and home colouring, as I do. Saves a fortune, And whats more she enjoys it .. correcting a colour that goes wrong is part of the fun. Shes older than me so makes me feel I can continue this way for many years to come. I do go to the hairdressers a couple of times a year to correct a faulty fringe when required. At least once a year I decide I can cut a good fringe and whats more I suit it. (I don’t). Takes ages to rectify. You’d think I’d have learnt my lesson by now but something comes over me.. a photo of the late Jane Birkin or her daughters perhaps is a sure fire trigger….
Any thoughts? ..
