Those female models are beautiful! I appreciate the plus-size modelling as well, but I agree that sometimes, it seems as though they are saying it is okay to be overweight when it really isn't. Nor is it okay to be underweight, looking at usual models and their sometimes over-the-top petiteness. The perfect weight is the healthy weight!
I think people talk about your weight more so if you are extremely skinny. People have always been talking behind my back, saying that I'm anorexic/bulimic. Lies, I tell you! Usually if I hear something of someone's weight, it's usually a skinny person, people saying she'll break in half next time she carries that heavy bag, that she's vomiting her food back up, that she starves herself or is on a diet if she eats a salad for lunch.
Models, I'm not pressured by them. Same with actors and singers. I don't feel pressured at all. It sickens me when I see the ribs of some models.
I find it ironic - the famous feel self-concious and such because they are constantly in front of the camera (as well as harsh remarks from the press and fans) so they diet, and then, we the people , feeling pressured in a society filled with commercials and billboards and ads with those skinny stars, begin to diet with the want to look like them.
It's an endless cycle.
