I have silent acid reflux. This has been going on for 4 months. I've had it diagnosed from the hospital and I'm now on the third different antacid tablet. Nothing is working. I'm watching what I eat and drink.
I was reading today about a system called: Linx Reflux management system. It is a bracelet type thing that is put round something in your gut. That sounds very technical, doesn't it. Lol.
Obviously it is a private procedure. Just wondering if anyone's had it done, because I really am at the end of my tether now. I don't do being unwell.

Have the breathing exercises helped at all, d'you think jingl?

I have done the breathing exercises in the night. My masseuse believes that breathing exercises are the cure for everything.
Jingle. Had a look in my diary and this came on about a month after we all had that bloody awful virus thing.

I don't know Ana. I can't quite understand how pushing your abdomen out as far as it will go, can help. Isn't that expanding the muscles the wrong way? I'm sure my tummy has started to stick out more since I've been doing it. confused

petra someone online (think it as a medical site) said about how her's started with a virus. And her's went away on its own after five months. So I need to wait until early December. Fingers crossed.

Saw my GP this afternoon about my acid reflux.
He told me to do away with the extra Lanso that I had added, back to two daily, and prescribed me Peptac Liquid to take for any breakthrough acid.

Also instructed to stop his prescribed ibuprofen (for joints) (told him so at the time) and to stop the Alendronic Acid that I take once a week re osteoporosis. He hopes this might be enough to offset the reflux.

I asked about my medication in general and what did he think of statins, any chance I might stop mine.... Hmmm... he did a few checks, including family history, worked my projection, and the upshot was a NO and I'm now on a stronger statin called Atorvastatin.

If no improvement, I've to make a telephone appointment in two weeks, possibly an endoscopy (6 years since I had one) and/or possibly a change from Lansoprazole. Otherwise, in 2 months ... get my bloods and cholesterol checked.

A few days should see if these changes help smile

After reading everyone's story, I've come to the conclusion that the average Dr knows as much as the average reflux sufferer.
We can see from the posts that we are being given conflickting information on the same drug.

I don't think the doctors have got any answers to this TBH. Nothing really seems to work. sad

I think the same. And if you read other people's experiences online they're all on different regimes and have different results - it seems to be a case of trial and error to see what (if anything) works for you personally...sigh
