You sound really poorly with this, grannylyn65. Have you needed a GP home visit?

Jane10 Wed 23-Mar-16 07:40:42

Certainly sounds like poor doings! Stay cosy. Keep up the fluids and take it easy.

ninathenana Wed 23-Mar-16 07:51:37

You must really be suffering judging by the way your post reads.
Let your friend take care of you and stay under those covers. Get well soon.

Poor you grannyl it sounds as though you're feeling really wretched sad Stay snuggled up in bed, drink lots and hopefully your body will 'sleep it off'. Sending sunshine and flowers to cheer you up smile

Poor Grannylynn. There's been a virus round here that has absolutely floored people. They have been completely wiped and slept for days. Some of the staff where DH works have been afflicted but fortunately he seems to have avoided it.
Hang in there, and get well soon.

Alima Wed 23-Mar-16 08:27:49

Hope you feel better very soon grannylynn. There is some horrid stuff going around.

annsixty Wed 23-Mar-16 08:29:18

I had a viral "thing" in Jan grannyL it really knocked me for 6 so you have every ounce of sympathy from me.
I do not get colds or the like normally so was quite shocked at how I felt. I had the best part of a week mostly in bed ,but had to stagger down to get H something to eat mainly cold as sadly he is not able to do much, not that he can't, he is unable to realise what to do. He can't help it so I have to get on with it.
For once my S pulled his finger out. Do let friends help when they can and rest as much as possible. Even though you can't believe it now you WILL start to get better.flowers

Get well soon, grannyl. I sympathise as I am currently nursing a bout of cystitis. However the pharmacist told me that he can prescribe antibiotics if it is not better tomorrow.
Sending you ??☕️?

loopylou Wed 23-Mar-16 09:08:16

grannylyn65 Wed 23-Mar-16 09:08:24

Honestly can't say when I felt worse, GPattended and agreed sounds like flue, but no advice except for usual! The thought of a few more days is horrific ??
Appreciate the thoughts of you all. Living alone I am used to but is pants when one is ?

grannylynn, It's horrid being ill but even worse when you live alone. It's good that you can contact a friend for help. Sleep it off if you can, because sleep, as Shakespeare says, is a great healer. ((((hugs))))

Willow500 Wed 23-Mar-16 13:34:44

Sounds like the same thing I had at Christmas - I'm normally one of the 'just get on with it' brigade but I spent the week on the settee under my slanket mostly asleep. Hope you soon feel better flowers

mumofmadboys Wed 23-Mar-16 13:50:18

Get well soon Grannylynn. I also have some viral illness and am tucked up in bed. I'm lucky as hubby looking after me. I am very rarely ill but I feel very shivery and have a cough. Still I'm sure I'll bounce back soon!

Synonymous Wed 23-Mar-16 14:33:22

Grannylynn So sorry to hear you are feeling so rotten. There is a lot of it around unfortunately. flowers to all those feeling poorly at the moment - including me!
My bug has had three stages: firstly an absolutely streaming cold, second stage a sore throat and hacking cough with gunk, third stage is nausea, tummy ache and runs and all accompanied by headache, muscle and joints ache
You should try coughing with the runs! Especially when you don't move fast!
DH said comfortingly, "It will pass." ( - nothing quite like stating the obvious really.) I just said, "Oh, it's passing alright" grin
So glad to have him around and feeling very blessed. (((hugs))) to all suffering on their own.

Badenkate Wed 23-Mar-16 14:48:20

Oh Synonymous I do sympathise, but you did make me laugh! We have an awful cold doing the rounds here. I've just about got over it after 10 or so days, but DH is suffering now. He actually is worse than I was (even allowing for male exaggeration) with terrible snuffles and a hacking cough. Hope everyone feels better soon flowers

Synonymous Wed 23-Mar-16 14:54:51

Thank you Badenkate you have to laugh don't you! smile

grannylyn65 Wed 23-Mar-16 18:00:01

don't make me laugh synom, not good on many levels!!
