Still here with flowing nose and hacking cough! Feel more or less the same. Am now at thoroughly fed up state!
Porridge, soup and yogurt, ( not simultaneously!)

I have had a flu like illness for the last six days but feel a bit better today I think!

Bellanonna Tue 29-Mar-16 09:04:37

That's good synonymous. I love porridge, it's a real comfort food.
I've got a ballet - called My First Ballet I think - at the Peacock Theatre this afternoon with 4 year old and her other Gran. Will be armed with water and cough sweets and hoping for a remission from the rattly cough. And hoping to enjoy it too. ?
Do keep on getting better !

Bellanonna Tue 29-Mar-16 09:10:52

Oh grannylyn, I know. Each day you think tomorrow I will be better. It must happen eventually surely? Wish I lived near you and we could commiserate together without fear of catching germs. I'm sick of the taste of those cough sweets and of buying large boxes of tissues. im sure recovery is just round the corner? mumof - glad you're feeling a bit better.

I've had the same evil bug for almost 3 week's. Today I actually felt like me again...Hooray! I even had some energy too. My husband caught it off me so is a week behind in the recovery stakes. My son has got it too but as he lives 200 miles away, he can't blame me. ?Get well soon fellow sufferers.

Three weeks ☹️
Still feeling hot and coughing a lot, I will miss The Edinburgh Meet Up at this rate. Oh death where is thy sting?! And my beautiful amaralysis (sp) fell over last night , probably in shock after various requests for babysitting and money from my NSDS!!!!!

grannylyn65 Thu 31-Mar-16 08:29:09

I would like porridge and cream, you think soop has any??

Alea Thu 31-Mar-16 11:54:58

Oh I am sorry this is dragging on so long (and profoundly grateful I have escaped it!)

Keep warm and take lots of warm baths.

I take Seven Seas Zinc berries, which I feel has halted a lot of my colds, as long as I take them at the first feeling that I may be getting a cold.

Now into my 3rd week of this beastly virus. I am fairly new to Gransnet but just wanted to say how comforting and reassuring it's been reading all your messages. It's just knowing others are in the same or even worse situation and all your kind and sincere good wishes to everyone have made me think what lovely people you all are. I do hope you are all feeling much better.Thank you GNs. I'm so glad I've found you!

I've joined the Lurgi club.

Started off with a tickly cough, then aching legs and feet!! now turned into a streaming cold and it's trying to get on my chest, also from time to time hacking cough. Stayed in today which is unusual for me but I felt grim. Taking paracetamol to control the temperature which is going away now.

Spoke to someone on the phone and apparently it's everywhere.

I have 2 of my GSs staying at present and one is puking for England; so we are hoping that it will not spread to us all. I cannot wash my hands any more - there will be nothing left.

grannylyn65 Sun 03-Apr-16 19:32:37

At last, feeling. bit bettet, what a relief!!
Thanks for all the comfort xxx

I hope your all feeling better. I am now but I had it for two weeks. The hacking phlegmy cough was the worst part. Waking me almost hourly I was starting to think I'd have to go to the doctors. I'm such a baby when I'm ill. I'm posting just to say it's longer than the normal 7 day illness. So take comfort if your half way through. flowers hope it's no longer for the rest of you.

grannylyn65 Mon 04-Apr-16 19:23:55

Much better today smile

morethan2 Mon 04-Apr-16 19:45:04

Whoopee hope it continues grannylyn65

annodomini Mon 04-Apr-16 20:43:04

Good news grannylyn. I think it's only when we begin to feel better that we realise how poorly we've been,

fiorentina51 Tue 05-Apr-16 01:07:58

Glad you're feeling better. I decided to go for a walk today and my word it was hard going. Husband still coughing but not as bad. We are supposed to be having the grandchildren for 3 nights from Thursday. I get the feeling that husband's cough will conveniently linger on! ?

Falconbird Tue 05-Apr-16 08:50:59

I'm 4 days into this thing and feel a bit better but not great. When can I see a light at the end of the tunnel????
