Hotmama I will keep everything crossed for you, and yes, you are right about the NHS. My niece had a malignant tumour removed last week - x-Ray's, scans and keyhole surgery all done in remarkably double quick time. I'm sure you'll be in the very best of hands flowers.

Thank you all for your goodwill messages. I have already got my appointments for CT scan and colonoscopy so the NHS has swung into action quickly. I won't have a word said against this wonderful resource and I hope and pray for a positive outcome.

Thank you to all the lovely ladies who replied to my previous post regarding my recovery from a perforated appendix. A nasty shock awaited me when I went for my follow up appointment yesterday. The consultant told me that the appendix contained a malignant tumour and there are microscopic cancer cells at the operation site. I have to have a colonoscopy and a CT scan and provided there is no cancer anywhere else they will go ahead and remove a section of my bowel to ensure they get all the blood cells that feed into the lymph nodes. I am on the 'two week' rule so this should be done quickly but as you can imagine it is a huge shock for me, my husband and family. I can't settle to anything and, at the moment am convinced I have cancer everywhere. I don't really have any question to ask of you, just needed to write about it.
