Just had a go at this quiz on the BBC www.bbc.co.uk/guides/zg3hk7h

My body age is 10 years above my actual age!! Please tell me I'm not the only one grin

tanith Thu 04-Aug-16 10:56:36

KatyK Thu 04-Aug-16 11:01:50

I'm 2 years younger than my age - that will do!

RedBus Thu 04-Aug-16 11:02:30

Looks like I'm the only oldie here...

Luckygirl Thu 04-Aug-16 11:11:06

7 years below! - I wish.

Charleygirl Thu 04-Aug-16 11:16:56

Tanith I am with you, 10 years below my actual age. A very pleasant surprise.

tanith Thu 04-Aug-16 11:34:35

Oh dear I just made the mistake of entering DH's details and he came out 22yrs older than his birth age... at least he laughed about it..sad

NanaandGrampy Thu 04-Aug-16 11:35:55

5 years younger....I don't always feel it though smile

If you've smoked for more than a couple of years they seem to bump your body age up by at least 20 years!

gillybob Thu 04-Aug-16 11:49:34

3 years older sad

Not surprised though.

Mumsy Thu 04-Aug-16 11:49:40

Im 68 with a body of a 54 yr old! mmmmm wonder what happened! grin

gillybob Thu 04-Aug-16 11:59:32

Lucky you Mumsy I am a 54 year old with the body age of 57 !

Mind you not sure how being an optimist or a pessimist effects your BODY age? Mental age maybe?

Likewise how does having support or not, effect your body age?

I am quite slim, not overweight (or under tall) I eat healthy and have never smoked.

DaphneBroon Thu 04-Aug-16 12:00:06

7 years younger. Not bad!

Grannyknot Thu 04-Aug-16 12:06:33

Minus 10 ... smile

Grannyknot Thu 04-Aug-16 12:08:18

gilly maybe stress (support) and outlook (pessimist/optimist) has an impact physiologically? Mind/body and all that.

Grannyknot Thu 04-Aug-16 12:10:17

Anyway I'm sure if there was a question about being exposed to passive smoking my results would not be as good! I lived with a packet-a-day smoker for many years and it still annoys me that I didn't kick against it harder back in the 70s and 80s.

So I don't think this is definitive.

Teetime Thu 04-Aug-16 12:14:57

I'm 63 with a body age of 48 - mental age of a 7 year old!!!

Auntieflo Thu 04-Aug-16 12:17:29

I'm 74, says my age is 67, so how come I feel 96 somedays?

shysal Thu 04-Aug-16 13:14:52

Mine came out 15 years younger. I don't feel it these days!

merlotgran Thu 04-Aug-16 13:19:56

Twenty years younger! They're 'avin' a larf.

My knees disagree for a start.

FarNorth Thu 04-Aug-16 13:22:51

There is a bit of explanation at the end E.g. " Your attitude has a tangible impact on your health. Optimists live longer and get ill less regularly. And even when they do get ill, they make better recoveries."

Greyduster Thu 04-Aug-16 13:24:54

Five years younger, but why does it ask how much red meat you eat and only gives you an option for fish and dairy or meat and veg, and not an option for fish and meat? I eat a lot of fish, but I also eat red meat! Perhaps I misinterpreted it.

NonnaW Thu 04-Aug-16 13:47:43

19 years younger! Think I'll try DHs now!

Granny23 Thu 04-Aug-16 14:07:19

7 years older. Not a surprise for an overweight smoker.

Anya Thu 04-Aug-16 14:21:33

Same here Merlotgran definitely 'avin' a larf confused
