A close friend is immobilised in hospital after a fall down the stairs three days ago, lying flat with head strapped to the bed. Lots of scans but no treatment detail or prognosis other than probably two broken bones. She can move her limbs. No close family to help and I'm worrying myself about the future for her. Wondering if anyone with a medical background might be able to advise on what is 'usual' in terms of intervention and whether broken bones in the neck are always as scary as they sound. There are other injuries but these seem less scary. Any thoughts appreciated, particularly over which questions should be asked of her medical team.
