A few weeks ago I posted about my nervousness in having a cataract removed, pleased to say I had it done yesterday and I really don't know why I was so worried. The procedure was very quick and painless and I can already see a bit better out of the affected eye. To anyone who is putting off having this done I would say go for it, I thought it was easier than going to the dentist for a filing. Thank you all who posted to re-assure me.

NHS Scotland polly - Tayside, Dundee University and Ninewells hospital!
They are also very proficient when it comes to mending broken legs!

Hi mcem, glad they are treating you well. My cataract was done at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital Clydebank and my hip replacement done on 17 May 2018 was at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow. Aiming to be bionic soon!

My husband had terrible problems after the first eye was done. He does had multiple health issues. Anyway he did make a fuss, after being told it would a couple of week for the second op, which then went to a couple of months. He contacted PALS and after just one phone call they managed to fit him in. So if you are struggling after having one eye done, perhaps it might be worth making a protest.

Hello everyone, hope you are all progressing well. I now have the date for my cataract follow-up appointment - Sept 25th - six weeks after initial surgery. Then I will be put on the waiting list for second surgery. Thank heavens for soft contact lenses!
