DD will be discharged from hospital this afternoon.

Today was DGS's 21st birthday so we had a little tea party - just Prosecco and cake. DD managed a little of each. She's very sleepy and not awake for very long but chatty when she is. We're making the most of these moments.

DGS celebrated last weekend when his lovely cousin stayed for Easter and they went out on the razz every night so it's good to know he hasn't missed out.

District nursing support is very good and will increase when needed. At the moment we're managing with one visit every morning and a nurse from the local hospice will also start visiting on Tuesday.

So far everything is going smoothly.

Thank you, every one. Tonight we are all gathered at her bedside in the hospice. Her distressing symptoms and increasing medical needs meant we were unable to continue caring for her at home. She couldn't be in a better place. The staff are wonderful and we are also receiving care and support. There is a flat at our disposal so we will take it in turns to rest.

Our darling girl will soon be at peace.
