Oh Merlot, I can't think of anything profound to say beyond how much I feel for all of you. Crying is the release that you need at the moment, so it's good that you've managed it at last.

Our girl is still fighting. Raging against the dying of the light. The staff can't believe the amount of strength she can still summon although the gradual increase in her pain meds and sedatives should hopefully mean she will soon slide gently into her final sleep. I've been thinking that for days though.

I have just read the beautiful poem, I Am Standing Upon the Seashore being discussed on another thread. I haven't been able to cry during the ten days we've been at the hospice but I found it so comforting that now I can.

Thank you all for your loving messages of support. I'm reading Gransnet all the time as it gives me a link to reality. xx
