Hello everyone...

SalsaQueen Sat 10-Aug-19 00:25:10

8thanks, Nonnie and Anniebach* I've applied for about 30 jobs - mostly care work, which I don't really want to go back to doing, I don't want split shifts, evening, weekends. Thankfully, my mortgage is paid off, so I haven't got a lot of outgoings. My husband (61) works full-time and is paid weekly.

I WILL get a job, I'm hopeful about that. Went out with a friend this evening - she drinks, I drive grin and we had a good old yap and then some laughs. Love to you all x

Nonnie Sat 10-Aug-19 10:20:50

Glad you had a good evening Salsa

I haven't posted my positives for a while, couldn't think of any but would like to share what happened yesterday because it gave me a boost. On Monday I bought a dress on impulse and wore it for the first time yesterday when I met a friend for coffee. While I was queuing for our coffee an assistant passed and said what a lovely dress, my friend also liked it. At the bus stop on the way home I met a neighbour and we sat together, she also said what a nice dress it was. I don't normally think I care what others think about the way I look but I did care when I heard such lovely compliments. It is just a sort of big check cotton shirtwaister, nothing special.

Have a good weekend all.

Nonnie it's always good to receive a compliment, and we all need that sometimes.

Nonnie Sat 10-Aug-19 15:52:52

Yes Salsa. I'm wondering if it had anything to do with the way I was walking having finally got out of jeans into a frock! Perhaps I transformed into an elegant swan grin

SalsaQueen Sat 10-Aug-19 21:12:38

Nonnie grin

Not a good day today. Another false alarm over tank..cant stop the tears falling. I feel I will be broken forever.

SparklyGrandma Sat 10-Aug-19 23:49:21

Nonnie it’s lovely those things said about your new dress. I love wearing dresses in the summer, and on a sunny day, wearing say my favourite colour, cheers me up no end.

Have a nice Sunday ?? everyone.

Doodle Sat 10-Aug-19 23:58:22

Oh nanny so sorry you feel like this. You have helped someone else’s cat so maybe Tank is safe and being looked after by some kind person too.

SalsaQueen Sun 11-Aug-19 08:35:03

Nanny 2507 Sorry to hear that. I hope that he is safe and well somewhere, and curled up on someone's bed.

Nonnie Sun 11-Aug-19 12:16:54

nanny so sorry to hear this. Just a thought, do you have a local cat rescue? Could you go and volunteer there? You got so much pleasure out of helping the cat that wasn't Tank that I think you would enjoy it.

nanny2507 Sun 11-Aug-19 12:58:00

nonnie I was thinking the same thing x today I have picked up a 4 month old boy from the rspca. Although it didnt work with coco I decided to try again. And already it feels right. He is gorgeous very loving and I've already called him "my little man" name wise he is called Marshall

Nonnie Sun 11-Aug-19 14:06:03

That's lovely nanny enjoy

Anniebach Sun 11-Aug-19 16:11:10

Good luck nanny

How is everyone coping ?

nanny2507 Sun 11-Aug-19 17:26:54

annie How are you? I feel like i havent "chatted" to you guys for ages xx

for me today is a lovely day. Little Marshall has given me something to smile about. I have fallen head over heels for the little fella. The amount of pounding, head butts and kisses ive had today i,m pretty sure he likes me too. grin Tank is never far from my thoughts and he never will be but I think he would approve of Marshall x

Doodle Sun 11-Aug-19 21:58:24

Hi nanny I am sure Tank would be happy that you have given a home to someone else and perhaps Tank is being cared for by others too.

I'm just discovering how bossy cats can be! Looking after the ones next door and one of them makes it very clear what she wants.

Trying to find things to do today which don't require my brain but do keep me busy. Had a dental appointment but can't go because I have a cold sore. Need to find something to sort out/through.

SalsaQueen Mon 12-Aug-19 11:21:55

Nanny I hope it all goes well with your new cat

Nonnie I'm like that today. I should have signed on for Job Seeker's Allowance (but I've been offered a job so cancelled it)
I was due to go for an interview at 1pm (but cancelled it, as I've been offered a job elsewhere)

I've changed the bed, done 3 lots of washing and got it all hanging outside. I've vacuumed the stairs, landing and bedrooms. I'm having a little break now smile

SalsaQueen Mon 12-Aug-19 11:24:29

I hope everyone is doing alright today. I'm happier than I was, as I've got the job I went for last Friday. I hope to start either next week or the week after. Not bad, to say I've only been out of work for 2 weeks grin.

The weather makes a difference, too, don't you find?
Love to all x

Doodle Mon 12-Aug-19 15:04:19

Congratulations Salsa that’s good news. Hope it works out well.

Nonnie Mon 12-Aug-19 15:24:16

That's excellent news Salsa, seems to have given you a big boost. So far I have achieved nothing today. I'm practising procrastination!

Nonnie Mon 12-Aug-19 16:49:34

At last I can post a positive! On the high st thread I realise I am a lot luckier than most people because ours is thriving. For that I am grateful.

nanny2507 Mon 12-Aug-19 18:25:56

yay salsa congraulations.

nonnie i love a high street...but i find that because their rents are so high they have to charge more..its very unfair on them and us

SalsaQueen Mon 12-Aug-19 18:31:52

Thanks to all. I am pleased with myself today. This job will give me some purpose, every morning (Mon-Fri), and even though it's a big drop in wage (about £6 per hour drop), I don't care, because it will be doing something I like, with the hours that suit me.

I hope you've all managed to have a decent day x

Anniebach Mon 12-Aug-19 21:36:16

So happy for you Salsa x

Joce345 Mon 12-Aug-19 21:42:13

Well done Salsa so pleased for you.. hope every one are doing ok ..
