How is everyone this morning? I woke up at 7, to next-door's cat on my bed, and my own boy sitting outside! Him Indoors had obviously let in the wrong one, when he went off to work
Haha Salsa I woke up not so good this morning. Not a morning person, you have definitely made me smile thank you for that. I will keep remembering that when my mind goes where i don’t want it too hahaha!!!
Morning all hope everyone has a peaceful day
Having a middling sort of day, need to get motivated. Did get some sleep last night though.
More good news please?
Ha ha ha salsa men
My good news is this little kitten of mine is so gorgeous he has definitely bought sunshine into my life...also he and fat cat are doing ok re meeting each other
Hi Basten
Well done for taking the first step and reaching out.
Yes loneliness is a terrible modern day affliction and l understand your predicament as l sometimes feel that way myself. Nobody much admits to loneliness nowadays but only yesterday on the trending news it was reported that it is at epidemic proportions and they are hoping to develop a pill for loneliness.
I find distraction Basten as far as possible the best cure. Also; and not always easy but l try to feel grateful for what l do have.
There is kindness here. I am sending you a hug and understanding.

Basten do you know why that is? Is there a reason you can't go out and meet people? Maybe I missed that along the way.
Nanny the cats I'm looking after next door seem to have eaten everything I put down in half a day and were ravenous when I went round yesterday. Never done that before so I'm wondering, is it likely another cat has been in and helped itself or do cats eat huge amounts one day and not much other days? Feeling very responsible and want to do the right thing! Will go round again later to check on them.
I know loneliness, it’s my constant companion
Welcome Basten as others have said you will find companionship here.
Not having good day - no sleep last night and Dr apt tomorrow which has sent the anxiety spiralling. Going on holiday in 2 weeks so I should be excited yes? Ha Ha Ha!
nonnie both are possible. If they have a cat flap that is like mine then all the cats can get it. It is possible that they are taking advantage of you and scoffing it all so you put more down
Nanny2507 I'm so glad things are going well with the new cat.
Nonnie I've never had a cat flap, but the cheeky little girl from next door nips in at every opportunity, and she scoff my boy's dinner then plays with his toys if she gets the chance....and he sits and watches (he's a gentle old boy)
Anniebach How's your day been? Do you have visitors other than family? Befrienders? I ask because it's something I used to do when I worked for a company called Crossroads.
It has seemed today that everyone I've encountered has been incompetent (I am not very patient)...the woman in Boots, who couldn't find my prescription - it turns out someone had filed it somewhere under the wrong name. The mobile 'phone provider "3"... sent me a new SIM, for a new deal (but I wanted to keep my existing number) then the bloke said the number can't be changed - I promptly cancelled my DD to them, gone with O2.
Grrrrr
Salsa, the only visitor I have is my younger granddaughter, she lives 50 miles away so tries to see me for two hours every
7 to 10 days. Apart from my grandchildren and younger daughter I have no family, my younger daughter lives a 5 hour drive away, two grandchildren 50 miles away and one in
Cornwall.
My younger granddaughter’s car was off the road last month so I didn’t see anyone for three weeks.
I have to accept it, it’s hard because January 2017 I had my elder daughter, son in law and three grandchildren plus a large extended family, three sisters and nieces and nephews all close. .
Things changed .
That's a shame annie sometimes we can be better off without toxic family members but obviously I dont know if that's the case for you x
I agree nanny2507 family members can be toxic, others are lovely.
My friends are my family too. ??
My sisters are certainly not toxic.
I brought up loneliness because Basten is very lonely.
Regretfully she will not be joining us.
Anniebach I asked because I know that Crossroads and AgeUK have "befrienders" who visit people and chat with them. My friend does it for AgeUK. She's a volunteer as she's over retirement age, and she's been going to one lady every Sunday for years. Would it be of any interest to you? Your daughter and grandchildren obviously love you though x
Salsa I am so sorry I forgot to thank you .
After the three week problem when my younger granddaughter’s car was off the road I did contact a local
‘Association of Voluntary Organisations’.
I was given a list of names for - cleaners, shoppers etc , and
how much they charge ! ?
I am waiting to see the consultant about the wretched arthritis, if this can be eased I can start on my recovering from the agoraphobia again.
Thank you x
Anniebach I hope you get effective treatment for your Arthritis. My sister-in-law has it and her doctor has given her Morphine patches. Don't give up trying to get help for various jobs around the house of garden, if you need someone. x
Sending kind and best thoughts to anyone who is feeling lonely today. We must always hope for better days and they do come.
