I really must do something about my weight. I am 67 and a bit on the plump side. I keep threatening to do a diet but seriously I don't want A diet face. What would you choose.

What is a diet face?

Dontaskme Tue 11-Jun-19 05:58:50

MooMoo I know exactly what you mean! I have lost 4 stone this year and had a "melted" diet face, to the point that I regretted losing the weight as I looked awful.

There will be negative comments regarding what I am about to say, but I'm now as happy as a pig in poo - I had fillers! My face now looks back to normal smile. Some may think it's mad to lose weight only to pay to have your face plumped back up BUT I looked so old, sad and saggy I hated it, whereas now I look like me again.

It wasn't pain free I'll admit, and as I only had it done a few days ago I do still have a bit of bruising, but then I do bruise easily. It wasn't as expensive as some may think and, for me anyway, worth every penny.

I'm not saying this is for everyone but it was the answer for me.

All the best smile

Dontaskme that’s a commendable loss, very well done.

To me diet face is what Timothy Spall has at present, he does not look well.

EllanVannin Tue 11-Jun-19 09:29:25

If anyone saw Davina McCall on the programme last night that was another " diet face " and she looks awful !! She looked sick too with her dragging skin.

Luckygirl Tue 11-Jun-19 09:31:40

I could do with half a stone coming off - but I know it would come off my face and leave my belly unscathed! grin

The saying is 'your face or your figure after 40', isn't it?
I try and steer a fine line between looking gaunt and ill or chubby and featureless... either way its a pain.

Callistemon Tue 11-Jun-19 09:40:51

I know what you mean - what my mum used to say "when you get older, it's either your face or your figure".

Is there a happy medium, MooMOO?
I'm aiming for that (and hoping not to get what my mum called 'a scrawny neck' as well).

I do hope that Timothy Spall is well and that his weight loss is deliberate.

Callistemon Tue 11-Jun-19 09:42:09

I think it's gravity, Luckygirl - I know the feeling!

Jane43 Tue 11-Jun-19 10:10:09

I saw a picture of Celina Dion, she is not ill but has deliberately lost weight. She thinks she looks sexy.

Widen...or wizen.

GrannyIris5 Tue 11-Jun-19 12:28:01

Agree about Timothy Spall, he looks awful poor man. Was shocked when I saw him on tv couple of weeks ago.

jura2 Tue 11-Jun-19 13:11:21

Chubby ... no wrinkles smile

Gonegirl Tue 11-Jun-19 13:15:16

I think Timothy Spall looks better. More distinguished. Must be healthier too. That's the most important thing.

Gonegirl Tue 11-Jun-19 13:19:47

Which looks healthier\/

Gonegirl Tue 11-Jun-19 13:20:18

?

Gonegirl Tue 11-Jun-19 13:21:10

Davina McCall looks awful anyway. And she's paid too much.

Elvive Tue 11-Jun-19 13:25:03

Davina looks unwell, seriously . I love Timothy Spall, he can convey so much without words. However I think he looks unwell.

crazyH Tue 11-Jun-19 13:38:05

Davina looks awful. My daughter had the most beautiful face, very much like Nigella Lawson. She has lost tremendous amount of weight now ....does not suit her....she looks haggard , but who's to tell her? She wont listen to me.

EllanVannin Tue 11-Jun-19 14:17:42

I would use the word haggard, not slimmed down, and it's so ageing.
I like chubby cheeks not drawn-looking.

Alima Tue 11-Jun-19 14:44:15

Relieved that Timothy Spall has simply lost weight, presumably dieted. I thought he was ill, didn’t he have leukaemia a few years ago? Sadly the reverse isn’t always the answer. I have gained weight recently due to meds. Still look an ugly old hag even with a fat face. There’s no justice.....

Callistemon Tue 11-Jun-19 14:46:27

It is a very long time since he was diagnosed and had successful treatment, Alima.
I do worry that you can be too thin - if you do become ill there is no weight at all to lose.

I saw a picture of Celine Dion, Jane10 and thought that she looked terrible - either very ill or anorexic.

Callistemon Tue 11-Jun-19 14:47:31

Looking at the two pictures, I would say somewhere in between, Gonegirl
