MawBroon I think the OP has a bicycle and has told us that she cycles every morning at about 6 am. Perhaps that is why she is so fit, all that fresh air.
I could be wrong, often am.

The name on the M&M cake is Nathan!

When I was on targeted cancer treatment I was told not to eat grapefruit or pomegranate. Apparently grapefruit enhances the action of the drug.
Interaction with drugs is a minefield especially if you take supplements. The jury is still out on turmeric and St John's Wort and Black Cohosh are also very dubious.

Or get on your bike MawB!

PS I do not know or have a Nathan in my family

Absolutely Bathsheba - how would we grannies cope without being taught?

Callistemon Thu 24-Oct-19 10:06:57

Or get on your bike MawB!

That cake is full of unhealthy sugar shock
I hope Nathan is not feeling sick now.

Still, it is better than the alternative (aspartame) which will be the next health crisis.

Perhaps not Auntieflo... grin

Auntieflo Thu 24-Oct-19 09:54:04

Bathsheba, that will not be tolerated

Maw do you really mean egg sucking instructions for 'laughable and faintly ridiculous old ladies' to follow? wink

Lazigirl Thu 24-Oct-19 09:43:19

There is no evidence that many supplements work, and haven't undergone the rigorous testing that accepted medications have, otherwise they would be in the mainstream medical formularies.

Something taken in supplement form does not necessarily affect the body in the same way as when in its natural form, for example in the food that we eat.

Many are harmless, but some are not. Natural doesn't mean risk free.

But that’s all right Bradfordlass according to another poster all anybody needs to do to snap out of depression is go for long walks hmmhmm

MawB Thu 24-Oct-19 07:45:28

It is well known Bluesky that grapefruit (or juice) is contra indicated with many drugs and usually says so in the accompanying leaflet.

BradfordLass72 Thu 24-Oct-19 05:05:18

And you have to be aware that if you do take St John's Wort, stopping it can bring on the glums or at worse, depression.

BlueSky Thu 24-Oct-19 00:17:18

That's interesting as I hadn't heard that grapefruit should be avoided when taking statins as well as the better known interaction with bp medication. I love grapefruit but will not risk it. Also as in my case st John's worth should not be taken while on bp medication.

Mix and match. Pills and supplements. What not to do and what works.
