So the coronavirus cough definitely does not produce phlegm? .
Why do restaurants and takeaways close so early now?
I've developed a dry cough. I'm worried.
So the coronavirus cough definitely does not produce phlegm? .
So they say. BUT I know of people I was pretty sure had it and they reported phlegm. Who the hell knows, without testing?
DH has just taken temperature and it's back up. Really disappointed. Had started to think that it would be going by now. Managed to eat most of a tuna sandwich yesterday but coffee tastes foul. Read that the taste thing can be one of symptons. Also having problem with diarrhoea. Might be a result of not eating anything substantial for a week. Hope it's helpful putting my progress up, to others who may be just starting although I expect everyone's experience will be different.
Just heard that red eyes can be a first symptom (from America) and if so then go to hospital. It seems there are about 40 mutations of this virus and maybe they all have different symptoms.
Stomach problems are reported in about half of all cases according to reports.
Last evening I felt a tickling throat that also went up behind my nose. I felt really fearful. However this morning it appears to have gone.
Scary as I have copd and diabetes.
Stay well everyone.
We are fine but I've just heard from a young friend whose whole family are showing symptoms. We haven't been close for over a week when we last used the same art studio.
She says they could have picked up the virus anywhere. School, work, play, shopping etc.
Lets hope things will improve from now on.
Yes Rosie I also read this morning that Loss of smell and Loss of taste can be one of the symptoms that you have the CV.
But then again we get that when we have a cold don't we.
Its seems the symptoms are more like flu rather than a cold.
If there are many different mutations then maybe they have different symptoms. I think anything out of the ordinary should ring alarm bells now. Apparently they are successfully treating patients with very high doses of Vitamin C so it wouldn't hurt to maybe double your normal intake of Vitamin C as soon as any kind of symptoms appear.
I feel a slight sore throat and a feeling in my chest. I'm a little anxious but trying not to think about it too much.
10 days since symptoms started and at last my temperature is bobbing around the normal. Still eating very little if anything. All food tastes like something from bottom of bird cage. Cannot think of any food that I might fancy. Didn't expect this aspect to last so long. Starting to get me and DH down a lot.
I'm sorry you're not feeling great Rosiebee. Being ill for a prolonged time is awful (I had 4 months of chemo 10 years ago. Vomiting. Sickness. Urgh).
BUT your temperature is down. You've not become dangerously ill. You've avoided hospital. You're now probably immune. All really, really good news. Hopefully you'll improve soon. (I'm fighting the urge to give advice! ).
tickingbird, it's scary isn't it? How are you feeling now?
My daughter has an ongoing cough that hasn't developed into anything. Other than a trip to the supermarket a week and a half ago, she hasn't been out, so I'm trying to assume she's OK.
My flying back to the UK seems to have been a gamble that I might have got away with. 2 more days until I get to 2 week. Although I've recently seen that it can be 3 weeks or more before symptoms start.
Sorry to hear that some of you possibly have the virus, and wishing you a speedy and full recovery. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the virus affecting lots of people from about October wasn't actually CV. I visited my sister in Spain at that time and she was suffering from these symptoms. I'd been back in the UK about 2 weeks and became quite poorly with the same symptoms, which lasted up to 3 weeks, after feeling better for a few days, it came back. Of course, I could be completely wrong, but there was more than one thread on here from people with a virus sounding quite similar to CV. I've also read that there were indications that it could have been spreading through Europe from October.
This virus is driving everyone nuts. No-one knows whether they've got, have had it, or even what the symptoms are as they seem to vary. The test that tells you if you've had it can't come too soon.
We think we've got it but we're not sure. DH has a sort throat and is achy. I have a cough (but not really bad), achy, fatigue, no fever atm but last night I was burning up and a sensation of a blocked chest but again not too bad. If I'm sat down I'm OK but if I try to move about I cough more and get breathless. None of the symptoms are really bad. Fingers crossed that this is it and we don't get worse.
My friend/neighbour who is a matron at a large SE London hospital has been SI since her husband has shown signs of having CV. She is due to be tested tomorrow at a drive through at the O2. Sadly, this is the antigen test only, which will only indicate if she currently has the virus - we need the test to see whether she's had the virus and is, therefore, immune!
The friend who was self isolating with her family is fine. No-one seems to have developed the dreaded virus . They just had a cold.
Sorry to hear you are unwell vampirequeen. I hope you both recover soon and as you say, have had a mild dose of covid19.
Lots of good wishes for speedy recovery for those who are infected - and for their loved ones who are unwell. Look after yourselves.
Thank you for your good wishes.
Rosiebee it sounds as if you're coming through this now, fingers crossed for you.
And GagaJo seems as if you've been lucky - you took a chance flying home, but looks as if you've got away with it. Hope your DD and GS are OK too.
Vampirequeen I do hope your and your DH's symptoms remain mild and you pull through this safely.
Wishing all of those with symptoms a speedy recovery. We will get through this crisis. Life will be good again.
Anyone who comes into this country should be tested. Does no one understand how this is all started...people coming into this country from other countries. The borders should have been closed two months ago.
I think I may have the virus, thankfully a mild version, as my symptoms match the profile with the exception of the fever.
It started on Friday with coughing then the next morning I woke with a sore throat and a very tight restriction round my chest. Only the coughing continued into Sunday followed by a slight headache which wasn’t constant but certainly exacerbated by bright light and sunshine. Late on Sunday my eyes started feeling like I had sand in them but by today Monday only the cough and aversion to light are affecting me.
Assuming it is CV19 this will give me immunity for this year so a test would allow me to make myself useful shopping for others etc.
Could I reassure gransnetters that everyone I have heard of who thinks they have contracted the virus has found it less debilitating than normal flu. It really is the exception to be seriously ill.
For those who have been advised to remain in isolation for 3 months take heart that if you completely isolate there is no way you can contract it. It is only spread by contact with others or something an infected person has been in contact with.
Stay safe and try not to worry.
I've been home 15 days today.
Grandson last night developed very red cheeks, lethargy and a slight temperature.
Daughter went out to the supermarket 11 days ago. Other than that, we've been in.
COULD it be the virus? He can't have caught a cold or anything else from anyone. He hasn't been out for 17 days.
I'm worried for him but also for me. I have asthma.
My grandson aged 6 developed temperature, cough and bad chest and was better within 48 hours, just had a bit of a cough. No idea whether it was the virus. No-one else in the family has come down with it and over a week has passed since he started. It's so frustrating not knowing.
Thanks Chestnut. That's reassured me. His breathing IS a little heavier than usual but he's currently OK.
