lucyanne yes I saw Gower from my sofa, i did enjoy seeing and hearing the sea, finger knitting ? Never tried it, too late now with my twisted fingers, but I can thankfully hold a stitching needle x
lavender hope you are coping , hugs x
Doodle yes she went to Gower and I saw several beaches and
Rhossilli where I use to holiday with an aunt and uncle, I still
remember the fun of going on Rhossilli beach with my cousin
and some locals in the night, drag net fishing, the boys went into the sea , dragged the nets to the shore whilst the girls raced along the nets with torches, then back to a barn on a tractor to share the catch , great fun, hope you are coping my
love x
BlueSky good luck tomorrow, Doodle is so right, as someone who has IBS it does cause unpleasant stomach upsets

(1001 Posts)Hello , a new thread, welcome all x
I have been off line since this morning , and land line down !
Doodle you are right of course but that's something I've always done, before Google we had medical encyclopaedias where I would make myself sick with worry not just about myself, but about the DC. I'm much better now in this respect but at times, this health anxiety resurfaces. I know it's likely to be something like an ulcer or even simple reflux. Thanks for your concern. Good night everybody x
Thanks Annie sorry about my wobble. Good night x
Hi my friends it’s Flutterby fluttering in to say I am still dealing with few family problems so please forgive me not mentioning you all and commenting on your posts at the moment. I have been reading the posts tonight and I have to say that you are all such caring people and if you were living near me I would have everyone of you as special friends.
Tomorrow one of my family has to go for hospital tests. We are trying to be very positive and I do believe the tests will all be fine. Another test to be done in a couple of weeks. I still have an ongoing worry with one of my adult children. It is a true saying ‘you are only as happy as your least happy child’.
It would be great if all that was needed was a sticky plaster or a magic wand.
Sleep tight everyone. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Bluesky hope you are feeling better.
Dam heath anxiety it certainly does take over ones life.
I have tummy problems with anxiety/ depression, horrible ish there was we could do about it, I do think it’s something we have to learn to cope live with..
Lucyanne finger knitting sound good how do you do that?
Doodle hope you are ok.
Nonnie you can pop round hear any time with cake yummy
Hope everyone else is ok
Wishing everyone a peaceful nights sleep ?
Keep plodding on.
Night all ?
BlueSky sorry not accepted , you did what we all do, share x
Flutterby a lot of stress my love, true about happiness and your child, we are here for you , no magic wand but
Love and Hugs x
To you too Annie xx
annie and all memories, yes happy memories. Now DH and I concentrate on making as many as we can, especially with the rest of the family. It seems to be important to them too.
Flutter yes, I feel like that too, worry far more about family than myself. Last night had a video call from 6 year old to show me the big bump on his head which had happened at school. Very sad face but had to show Grandma. First thing I did this morning was message to ask how he is, he is fine!
Joce perhaps stomach problems are part of the ageing process? A couple of years ago I had an issue and assumed the worst, it wasn't. I have diverticulitis/osis(?) which is apparently very common in the over 50s. It is quite easy to manage but was a worry until diagnosed.
Counting my blessings today, sun shining, package finally delivered, nothing vital to be done today. Hope you all have blessings too.
Good morning all and welcome new friends that have popped onto the site while I have been missing.
Annie so pleased you enjoyed views and happy memories. Technology such a blessing to make us part of outdoor life.
Good memories always a positive. x
Blue sky I hope you are up and insist on a Dr. app. Tight chest must be getting you down. Are the antibiotics working? If they upset your tummy perhaps ask for a different antibiotic. You are in my thoughts & prayers.
Flutterby hope all goes well with family hosp tests today. Children a constant worry. Shows you love them. A lot of stress thinking about you.
Nonnie please post a picture when you complete the throw. 2500g had to check to see I had read it correctly! What a huge challenge. You made me laugh at the rampage with the hedge trimmers. I will do the same with the loppers today.
Doddle I am alone during the days. Used to invite people for meals or coffee & cake. Sell cards for charity & help with S.N. craft group. Miss contact now as people self isolating. Have your family problems eased? You are in my prayers.
Joce Did you have a good nights sleep and are you up to enjoy the warm sun shine today? Finger knitting thick wool for cushions, scarfs. Thinner wool for toys. Can get free patterns on my Pintrest.
Scardycat Braver than me with Tesco delivery. Identify with anxiety of schools. My DD is a dept head worked all of lock down with special needs & key worker children. Positive was no child or member of staff got ill. Still plays on my mind.
Lavender hope you are coping. x
To all I have forgotten may your worries be lessened by the wonderful sunshine today. x
Hi all x
How is everyone ?
Now my front garden path fills me with fear
Annie Hope this finds its way. My earlier good wishes appear to have gone in to orbit; In another of your messages in this thread you mentioned you were intending to buy an electric scooter. I wondered if you had still got Fred and how you went with the Red Cross training lessons with him!?
My "Freda" and me have been in lockdown throughout, but now that our Spring has sprung we are hoping to be able to take advantage of our daily permitted one hour "escape" from the house!
Good Health Annie!
OoRoo
Rufus I still have Fred, I didn’t have the training support, Fred was undercover through the winter, come Spring the council were to make it easier for me by laying a new path, then came lockdown, a month ago they laid a new path and
patio , they moved Fred and the cover had rotted !
Fred has been naked through all the rain we have had, what
damage do you think has been caused?
You and Freda have Spring , Fred and I are facing Winter so
in honesty ? I am fed up , been block so many ways with Fred
Love to Freda from Fred and from me to you x
Hi all. GP phoned after various questions and answers has diagnosed a possible ulcer, so prescription waiting in chemist, hopefully it'll help plus I mentioned the abdo ultrasound mentioned in February and they 'll chase. At least something's moving. Annie so unfortunate that this Covid happened just as you were preparing to get some use out of Fred. Can he be checked for damage? Hopefully you'll still be able to be trained and use him. Lucky for Rufus they have their spring around the corner. Stay safe stay well!
BlueSky hope you feel reassured, I have an ulcer , medication and the right foods x
Fred will have to be checked over but I will wait until spring, the rain must have damaged the battery and wiring , have to have a firm 40 miles away to check him .
Explanation for those who haven’t met Rufus, he lives in
Australia and Freda is his mobility scooter
Annie I hope you enjoyed your views of the Gower and the happy memories those pictures invoked.
I hope Fred is not badly damaged. I do wish someone would help to get the two of you roadworthy. Is it worth investing in a new cover before winter?
Bluesky good you got in touch with the GP and hopefully will get some meds to help your stomach. Hope you will feel better soon.
Flutterby you know you are welcome, either just reading or joining in when you can or when you feel like it. I hope your family issues get resolved. I have my own worries too.
((Hugs)) ?
Joce, Nonnie hope you have a good day. Glad your DGS is ok Nonnie.
Lucyanne thank you for your prayers. I hope you can soon get to having people round again. Please be careful with the loppers. Do you have any panic buttons for assistance should you need help at any time? Hope you enjoy the sunshine too.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Hello all. Can,t believe it’s September already - so good to see and feel the sunshine again without boiling to bits!!
Bluesky so glad the GP is helping you it always feels better after talking with an understanding Doctor. Health anxiety can get you in its grip so quickly and take over practically every waking thought- I understand exactly how you feel.
Annie so glad you got to see the sea - one of my happy places is by or on the sea. What lovely memories you have of adventures on the beach when you were younger. Poor Fred what a pity the workmen didn,t cover him with something to spare his blushes!! I hope he is able to be resuscitated in the Spring.
I went to the new Local M &S again today - the temptation of its food hall lured us in again!! It is helping me get braver around people and their cakes help too!! A couple of weeks ago anxiety made me feel so sick a lot of the time but it is improving thank goodness.
Hoping you all have a good evening and restful sleep.xxxx
Doddle I have a new cover for Fred but don’t have anyone to
ask to put it over him. How are you my love ? X
Scaredycat you are doing brilliantly, keep going for cakes ,
you have moved on since you first spoke of your anxiety ?x
Annie that’s such a shame. Isn’t there an able bodied neighbour near you that you could ask a favour from? If I was closer, I’d come and do it.
I’m doing a bit of a balancing act at the moment. Sort of controllable wobbles. Schools start again here next week. All hopes and prayers centre on it going ok.
Scaredycat you are doing really well and tackling things in a sensible way. To choose a shop like M&S rather than a large supermarket and to have an aim like a treat or cake to work towards is a good thing. ?
Hope the rest of the BDG are ok and coping. x
Scaredycat you too yes it has been hell, spoiled many days when my DC were younger. Not so bad now even though I still worry about the DGC and occasionally about DH and myself. Yes it helps to talk to a sympathetic doctor. I used to have a lovely family doctor those days and he always used to say "BlueSky you'll live to be 100 !" Never let it fester in secret, mention any health worries to your doctor as soon as possible.
BlueSky so pleased you spoke to the GP and they are to to chase up the ultrasound. You did really well. Lets hope the meds work for you. Health anxiety must be so difficult to cope with.
Doddle I did take my alarm & phone into the garden & was careful this time. Feel much better having fresh air and sun.
Scaredycat M&S what a treat. Well done.
Wish you all a peaceful night. x
Night all x
You all sound as if you are doing rather well at the moment, small steps but in the right direction. Sorry Fred is not well.
Just saw this and it made me smile on a bit of a negative day:
“Tigger is quite big enough,” said Piglet.
“He isn’t REALLY very big.”
“Well, he SEEMS so.”
Pooh was thoughtful when he heard this, and then murmured:
“Whatever his weight in pounds, shillings, and ounces,
He always seems bigger because of his bounces.” A.A.Milne
Hi all x
nonnie I love Pooh Bear
Morning Annie, How are you all today?
nonnie I loved the Poo Bear. Cheered me up. x
Lucyanne fresh air and sun will do you good. Are you able to do any gardening? Do you have raised beds?
Nonnie Pooh Bear is one of my favourites too. I especially like the Tigger song.
Annie have you ventured out on your path again recently?
Hope everyone has a good day x
