Annie sending you lots of love and warm hugs xx
Thank you x it brought back so much, even when spoke of come retirement! we would buy a house in New Quay, West Wales, he said we will have grandchildren then , we were robbed of so much and so was he .
I am ok, x
Oh Annie life can be so cruel and some people have more than their fair share. Can only send hugs x Goodnight all x
I feel so guilty for dropping in. I hope Annie and all who have had much sadness in their lives, get courage and strength to carry on ......brave people
Annie I am so sorry you’ve lost so much happiness from your life. Your poor DH dying so young and missing out on the dreams you shared. I am not surprised that you have shed tears today at the thought of all that lost time and lost love.
A big hug from me too xx
It seems your DGD has inherited her interest in painting from her grandfather. Your SIL obviously couldn’t bear to part with your daughters things after all.
I hope you are ok tonight Annie. Sleep well.
Scaredycat sounds as though you got on a bit better today. Try and keep busy and not think about things too much.
Bluesky glad you got in touch with someone. You should get seen on Tuesday and hopefully get something that makes you feel better,
crazyH you are always welcome to pop in here. No need to feel guilty. ?
Sleep well all x
Annie hope you had a good night’s sleep, hopefully feeling better today.
Hugs Annie.. ????
Hope today is a better one for you Annie. Thinking of you xx
Hi all x
Thank you I am ok . Going to the Gower Peninsular today ! only 60 miles from home , elder granddaughter asked me about it yesterday, I said how beautiful it is and how I loved
many happy times there, she and her partner are going there
today and will FaceTime me from the beaches . I will see and hear the sea ? x
Annie what a lovely idea. I hope you enjoy it. Wish you were able to go with them and see it in person but this is the next best thing.
Sunday papers for me and then the service from Canterbury Cathederal. Have a good day all.x
GG well done, you have found a way to manage, not recover but cope. Good for you.
Doodle it is a massive throw which I am making with very special wool for a special person's 40th birthday. It is taking months and has, of course, cost me a fortune. Nothing is too much for such a special DiL.
Scardycat did you put the heating on? I think it is the first time we have ever done so in August!
BueSky that sounds like it all worked for you, very good.
Oh Annie I read that as 'elderly' granddaugher at first! Quite took me aback
. Perhaps mixed feelings about the memories? I hope you do one day get to go there. Keep positive.
Nothing positive or negative to add today, just a keep on keeping on day.
Doodle thank you, it really is so beautiful there, the peninsula was the first area to be designated ‘an area of
outstanding beauty’ in the UK , i do ‘go on’ when it
comes to Wales , mountains, rivers, lakes, beaches , ?
and rain ?
Ah Annie hope you are feeling better today.Sending you a big hug . Wish I could pop round for a cuppa and a chat. What a tonic it will be to see the sea - hope the sun shines for them and for you. What a beautiful country Wales is. When I was 15 we went there for a school trip it was the first time I had ever seen real mountains. I was enchanted by the Llanberis Pass.
Nonnie the heating didn,t go on but my big Cardie did, it was so cold. Don’t know what I,ll put on in the Winter! Today is better but still not warm. I had a nice walk this morning and finished off at my daughters for coffee. So glad I can do this again it’s taken me so long to not be terrified of the virus. Now I think just be as careful as possible and hope others take care too. Still scared but a bit better each day.
Enjoy the rest of the day everyonexx
ScaredyCat I wish you could pop around for a cuppa and a chat. x
You are doing so well, and very sensible , keep it up
Hello everyone
Annie I hope you enjoyed your Face Time with your granddaughter, and the sights and sounds of the Gower Peninsular. How thoughtful your girl is.
Wishing everyone a peaceful evening and a good night's sleep. Take care and God bless, love to all xx
Good night all x
Good night all hope you all have a peaceful night sleep ??
Nonnie my goodness you have certainly set yourself a task but it will be a wonderful gift when finished. I’m sure your DIL will love it. What colour is it?
Annie I love your thoughts about Wales. It is truly a beautiful place. No wonder you love it so. Hope you had a good day today.
Scaredycat you are doing so well. ?. Taking care is the answer but you have to have a life too. Balance is the key. Glad you are getting on better.
Bluesky and Joce take care and sleep well.
A restful night for all. xx
Lavender thank you and the same to you too.
Morning all hope you are managing. Unfortunately my health anxiety is back with a vengeance. I happened to Google stomach ache and feeling unwell, and suddenly the ulcer sounds like an easy option. I've done this all my life but not lately (not about myself anyway) and I thought health anxiety was a thing of the past.
Hi all x
BlueSky you will be speaking to your GP tomorrow, yes you
want it to be today , same for me.
This damn virus has raised our anxiety and so we become more anxious about things not even related to the virus.
Do fear you have an ulcer ?
Morning Annie not worried about an ulcer but worse case scenario as usual with me, i.e. cancer. This health anxiety has ruined my life, but yes you are right GP tomorrow hopefully they'll want to see me and at least examine me, hope it's not just a phone conversation. Thanks Annie.
Hello Annie
Annie Sorry you have been feeling sad, memories can throw us when least expected. Sending hugs, Did you get to Gower and a paddle in the sea? I appreciate you love of Wales such a lovely place and every reason to be proud of it. As it is a sunny day have you checked on Fred? I have an electric chair for indoors & the garden but dislikes bad weather. A lighter fold able one for the car. You must be talented to design machine + hand knitting to sell. Cross stitch lots of patience. I have done some in the past but prefer crafts that need less dexterity. Card and paper crafts, painting, sewing are favorites. Usually things I can give away or raise money for charity. I was recently taught to do 'finger knitting' to relieve stress during the night after a panic attack. It is ideal as I can't turn over in bed so can do it on my side. Great for anyone with spare balls of wool.
Scardycat our heating and the bed socks went on and I don't think I feel the cold as much as some. Must be all that sitting around trying to get the knitting finished! It sounds as if you are taking baby steps and that is working for you. Keep it up.
Doodle not sure I can describe the colour, sort of grey/blue/green, rather muted. She doesn't do bright colours or huge patterns so she chose the wool and I made a pattern based on some she sent me. Yes, I'm sure she will appreciate it and keep it forever. A friend is going to make me a label to put on it, she is clever with a sewing machine. I hope your issues are sorting themselves out but, if not, at least not getting any worse.
BlueSky that sounds horrid, I don't understand it because I have never experienced it but it sounds as if it gets in your head and you can't stop it. No answers, sorry.
lucyanne never heard of finger knitting but good to hear it works for you.
annie I have some understanding of living your life vicariously through family but at least I can get out myself. Just had loads of wattsapp photos and videos from DiL of a 'party' they had in the garden yesterday. Just a few close friends socially distanced, it was nearly as good as being there. They plan to pop round with leftover cakes! They have really lovely friends who also treat us as friends rather than parents. We are very blessed.
Just had a supermarket delivery which DH is putting away and then he is going to hack down the front garden and I will clear it up. He has physical issues which make bending down difficult. Then it will be back to the marathon knitting! Oh, and the sun is shining.
Hope you are ok Annie.
Just calling in to wish you all a peaceful evening and a good night's sleep. Take care and love to all xx
Bluesky stomach ache is one of the most common ailments. There are many, many things that can cause it. IBS, diverticulitis, medication, what you eat. Lots and lots of things. Don’t start thinking of cancer. The chances are more likely that it’s nothing to do with that. Try and relax until you get to see your GP and try to stop using Google for medical matters until you have a diagnosis. Take care.
Lucyanne you have an interesting variety of hobbies in your crafts. I have heard of finger knitting recently. Is it done on thicker wool? Do you make cards for people? Hope you are feeling ok tonight.
Thank you for your kind thoughts Nonnie. I just keep hoping and praying like I have done all my life really.
Your wool sounds nice. It will be a lovely gift.
Lavender thank you. I hope you sleep well too.
Annie did your DGD get to the Gower coast? I hope she managed to send you some pictures.
Sleep well all xx
