Hello , a new thread, welcome all x

I have been off line since this morning , and land line down !

Joce345 Sun 16-Aug-20 11:28:11

Annie you amaze me, You are so strong or appear to be.
There is some very cruel people out there, your daughter was very ill. My sisters fell out with me for trying to help one of there daughters that was mentally ill, she also had 2 children that I took in because I couldn’t see them go into foster care.. a lot more to the story.. she died last year bless her she had one horrible life..

rafichagran I’m like you I get angry but it more with my husband he puts up with a lot from me. I love him so much you wouldn’t think that if you could see how I am sometimes, thankfully not all the time..

BlueSky Sun 16-Aug-20 11:43:40

Morning all. Has anybody felt the need to keep taking deep breaths in this humid weather? It started this week and I wonder if it's weather related or anxiety, which I know could give you those symptoms. Feeling generally low not particular new reason just the usual. It will pass I guess. Have a good Sunday, I will try x

rafichagran Sun 16-Aug-20 11:46:35

Joce I get that, but in my head I find it hard to understand how I love someone but get so horrible.

Anniebach Sun 16-Aug-20 11:56:27

Anxiety is fear, fear causes several other emotions, a desire to run or the opposite, to freeze, one is anger and when we are angry we hit out , not physically, but with words, also frustration and possibly a feeling of helplessness because we can’t control the anxiety.

Anniebach Sun 16-Aug-20 12:00:59

BlueSky when a person is stressed they become physically
tense, breathing if affected, a need to take deep breaths, do you find your tummy tightens ?

MaggieTulliver Sun 16-Aug-20 12:05:40

And you have started a new life Annie after so much sadness. Joyce my doggie is a rescue JRT cross, now 13 years old but still full of beans. Your daughter’s dog is adorable.

BlueSky I have the shortness of breath thing too sometimes and I’m sure it’s anxiety-related and of course the really hot weather hasn’t helped. I’m feeling very anxious today but keep trying to bring myself back to the present. I’ll get the knack one day ?

BlueSky Sun 16-Aug-20 12:06:58

Hi Annie usually it's my stomach affected but this need to keep taking deep breaths is unusual, that's why I assume it's to do with the weather. Big hug.flowers

Anniebach Sun 16-Aug-20 12:13:32

BlueSky it could be the weather , I have never understood
humidity levels but it is a fact we are affected by them, hugs to you x

Joce345 Sun 16-Aug-20 12:20:33

BlueSky I also get the need to keep taking deep breaths, it it’s hard to do sometimes as well. I definitely go along with the anxiety..
Thank you Maggie I think dogs are very therapeutic I would really like one but I wouldn’t be able to walk one.. I would be so frightened if I saw another dog.

Joce345 Sun 16-Aug-20 12:25:02

BlueSky Annie could be right as well the weather, humidity can do that I believe.. I know mine is anxiety. Sorry Annie..

Puzzler61 Sun 16-Aug-20 12:28:36

Such a gorgeous dog Joce , thank you for sharing the picture.

Annie you have friends here to always keep you company and listen to you - on bad days and better days. We all have a mixture of both. ?

BlueSky Sun 16-Aug-20 12:45:32

Thank you ladies I was starting to Google. Yes I would love a dog too and hopefully we'll look into it seriously as soon as possible.

Anniebach Sun 16-Aug-20 13:11:09

*BlueSky, I speak as someone who has had 15 dogs over many
years. Adored them all . I have two, have had three at the same
time, such joy, love, fun, cuddles, games . I love dogs ?

BlueSky Sun 16-Aug-20 14:50:49

I bet they are Annie! smile

Anniebach Sun 16-Aug-20 14:52:12

Such unconditional love ?

Scaredycat Sun 16-Aug-20 14:54:41

Good afternoon to you all. Ooh it’s starting to thunder so maybe we,ll get some lovely rain - I live in the South East and it has been so dry.
Annie reading about your day sounds far from boring . You are a very brave , kind and wise lady. I lost my first husband and youngest son in an accident many years ago but the day the police delivered the terrible news seems like yesterday. So with my 2 other children we too started a new life. The anxiety started many years later following my Mums suicide.
The physical symptoms are so debilitating sometimes and although I haven,t had the deep breath problem it’s the inner trembling, jelly legs, nausea etc I hate. Hope the cooler weather helps.
Maggie I always have a little chat to my Guardian Angel before sleep. I really believe they are there to help us.
We have a big old rescue Cat who thinks he,s a dog !! He’s an indoor cat so it was awful not being able to open the downstairs windows in the heat.
It,s raining!!!! Hooray.
☔️☔️☔️

Anniebach Sun 16-Aug-20 15:00:15

Scaredycat you have been to hell and back, that knock on the door stays with you doesn’t it, your husband and your child,

You like me started again with two children , then your mothers suicide , I ache for you my love. Have you had any
therapy ?

Scaredycat Sun 16-Aug-20 15:50:54

Annie thank you for your kindness. I did have some counselling a few years later but the counsellor was not very good as she liked to talk about her problems- not the best method?I have had a few try’s but I don,t like going over the past - what we experience and go through makes us who we are . I agree with you that anxiety is fear and for me it’s the fear that needs beating. The current Covid situation has really ratcheted it up hasn,t it. But today I conquered my fear of going into other people’s houses and walked to my daughters house for a surprise visit. She was so pleased and so was I that I had done it. Small steps eh! My husband was pleased too on his return from Golf.

Anniebach Sun 16-Aug-20 16:40:16

Scaredycat, same for me I didn’t have counselling after my
husband death, I refused it after my darling daughter’s suicide
two and half years ago, I did last year have EMDR therapy last
year for PTSD , this was caused by being at the Aberfan disaster in 1966, it was a great help.

Yes, the Covid has sent many into high anxiety and fear, I do
know two charities who help sufferers with mental health problems are very much in demand .

You went to your daughters house today ? You have posted
a great positive, so for you ?

nanny2507 Sun 16-Aug-20 22:09:21

Good evening my friends...wonderful news the baby is fine!!! i cried such tears of joy..nothing would have changed the baby is already loved and wanted regardless but such a weight lifted...and..its another little girl for nanny to love. My pain levels are high today but a nice kiss and cuddle with marshall made me feel better. Binks my beautiful feral is still coming for food, still as unfriendly as ever ha ha. but a friend fed him one night as i was away and he scratched her!!

lavenderzen Sun 16-Aug-20 22:20:53

Just calling in to wish you all a peaceful evening and a good nights sleep.
Take care, stay safe and lots of love to all xx God bless.

Doodle Sun 16-Aug-20 22:22:39

scaredycat so sorry to hear that you, like annie, have lost a husband and a child. I can’t imagine how hard that is for you.
Well done for walking to your DD’s house. That shows real determination.
bluesky dogs can be a great comfort. They give unconditional love and attention.
When I get stressed, my tinnitus starts becoming more noticeable. I also get tension in my neck and face. I know it’s happening and why but trying to stop those anxious thoughts is almost impossible.
joce that picture of your daughters dog is lovely. So cuddly.?.
Lots of people with shortness of breath. Could well be due to the hot weather. Slow steady breathing while counting can be better than deep breathing as sometimes the deep breathing can make you feel worse.
Hope everyone sleeps well tonight. I am having trouble in the mornings. Have to struggle to keep my mind occupied.

BlueSky Mon 17-Aug-20 08:44:06

Morning all. Still a bit concerned about my need to take a deep breath, never had it before, yesterday I even felt off colour. Obviously now I'm starting to think Covid as well as clots etc. See how it goes I might phone the surgery. The humid weather doesn't help I know. Hope you'll all have a peaceful day. cafe

Anniebach Mon 17-Aug-20 09:57:32

Hi all x

BlueSky perhaps best to phone the surgery, it is quite possibly caused by anxiety and reassurance will lower your
anxiety, do let us know x

Anniebach Mon 17-Aug-20 10:12:39

nanny yes wonderful news, it made me so happy that you
said the baby is already loved, I had a first cousin who was downs, we all adored him and he brought joy to all who knew
him. Glad Binks is still visiting you x

Doodle thoughts on waking can be so troubling , the reason
I do crosswords in the morning, something to take my mind off worries , tension in neck and shoulders ? I am a fellow sufferer , pushing my trolley around the house, writing on iPad hunched shoulders , grrrrrr. How are things for your son ? Agree about dogs x
