Doodle Wed 07-Oct-20 20:52:39

Joce I’m sorry to hear about your DGD and your DD hope they get the tests results soon and they are ok.
Scaredycat lunchtime with your DD sounds good for a nice catch up. Yes I hate washing the shopping too. It doesn’t make me shaky just find it quite tiresome. But at least we’re getting deliveries so mustn’t complain. Glad you had some time in the garden. That will do you good. ?

Doodle Wed 07-Oct-20 20:53:56

joce a nice thought. ?
Hope you have a good night Lavender, you too Annie

Sleep well everyone x

Nonnie Thu 08-Oct-20 10:19:58

lucyanne perhaps procrastination is a new skill grin, I have done a lot more of it this year. You will get your mojo back, just keep telling yourself you will. I think getting started is the hardest part, just that first step and then it starts to move.

BlueSky home deliveries have made it all bearable. Sainsbury's messed our up this week and, eventually, apologised and delivered it the next day by car. Told us to ignore the things we hadn't ordered which 'fell off the shelf' and sent a bunch of freesias as an apology. I think DH quite enjoyed his battle with them.

Doodle like your attitude of balancing must dos and like doing.

Oh Joce I think worrying about those we love is harder than worrying about ourselves. I will pray for them all.

No Scardycat you are not alone, we sanitise or quarantine all our shopping. When you post comes we open it then sanitise our hands. We may well be overdoing it but don't want to be responsible for even one person getting ill. We are now back in lockdown so don't go out to meet anyone.

Really bad night, infection under tooth which really hurts. Dentist can't see me until Monday so I called back and pushed the matter, hoping they will call me back later.

Did my big calculation task, my sort of thing anyway but complicated so not checking it today while I feel so rubbish.

ChrissyR Thu 08-Oct-20 10:27:30

Morning everyone
Nonnie I’ve done exactly the same with the dentist. Because of a bad experience when I was young I had not been for many years. A couple of years ago I was having lots of pain and my cousin talked me into going. Even though I hadn’t been for such a long time I only needed 2 fillings. I hope your appointment goes ok.
lucyanne Sounds like you’re a very busy lady in normal times. I find it hard to get into anything since COVID started so understand how you feel. I haven’t had a sore throat, I can feel the swellings when I press on my neck. I’ve just been taking paracetamol.
joce So sorry to hear about you daughter and GD, I hope they’re feeling better soon. I understand how worried you must be, hopefully they will get their test results soon.
Scaredycat How lovely that you met with your daughter for lunch yesterday.
I see that Annie hasn’t been on for a while, hope everything is ok with her.
Welcome Daftbag You’ll find lots of support here.
Hope everyone else is ok. Thank you everyone for your good wishes. I was very scared yesterday, the swelling had got a lot bigger and I felt pretty rubbish. I can only feel one very small swelling today. GP is phoning today.
Have a good day everyone x

ChrissyR Thu 08-Oct-20 10:29:34

Nonnie Sorry you were in a lot of pain last night. I hope the dentist phones and is able to see you today x

lucyanne Thu 08-Oct-20 11:08:39

Morning Annie thinking of you are you OK? Hope your plodding on. We have sunshine here brightens my mood. Love and hugs. x

Nonnie Glad you got the calculations done. It is nice to have a challenge. Re visiting them when you feel better sounds a good idea. Have you got an abscess making tooth sore? It may be an idea to ask for anti-biotics before app. as they won’t do the work if you have an infection. Poor love the pain can be excruciating. Procrastination will add it to my CV!
Challenge today have paid bills Doodle and opened some mail. After my last stroke left with Aphasia. I put numbers, words in wrong order. Causes huge problems and overdrawn bank account! I had signed up for a night class to help. Cancelled!
Joyce It is a worry when people you love test positive. I pray they will recover well and symptoms not to severe. Has the school closed or a ‘bubble’.
Scardycat I hadn’t picked up pumpkin was a ceramic one. Dippy! How lovely to be able to see your daughter. Good suggestion. I do have a diary and will add some more routine jobs rather than just app & reminders of bills to pay. I am still disinfecting food hub shopping, doors and handles!
Chrisy how is the throat and glands today any less painful?
I got my flu jab yesterday at last. The nurse did it outside on the drive as didn’t want electric wheelchair in surgery. Over and done within seconds! Remembered to have it in the arm I don’t sleep on. Another positive was my car passed its MOT.
Can anyone tell me why my posts take so long to go on G.N? It took 5hrs the other day so I am asking questions or comments that have already been answered.
To all our friends have a good day. x

BlueSky Thu 08-Oct-20 11:11:22

Morning all x Nonnie my best apology from Sainsbury’s was when they ‘forgot’ my brandy. They delivered it by car soon after and free of charge!
Chrissy glad the swelling has gone down, like me you never expect something to get better/sort itself out.
Yes noticed that Annie has been absent, I guess problems with the iPad.
I could say it’s depressing listening to the news with impending new restrictions/lockdowns. Better switching channels when the news come on!
Have a good day x cafe

Anniebach Thu 08-Oct-20 11:37:29

Hi all x sorry not posted, had a grim day Tuesday which was just too many things in one day . But there was sunshine too,
my mini tornado came x

Doodle Thu 08-Oct-20 14:18:49

Annie sorry you had a bad day. Hope your mini tornado cheered you up. Hope things are better today.x
nonnie sorry you had a bad night. I didn’t sleep much either. Dreadful tinnitus and aching jaw plus a headache, which I don’t often get. Still feeling much the same now so a short post today. Hope you get your tooth fixed soon.
Chrissy glad the swelling is going down. Hope you get to speak to the Gp and sort something out,
Lucyanne Aphasia, I have heard of it. Sorry your stroke left you with such problems. Do you have anyone who can check things for you or have the symptoms improved now, it must have been a very worrying time for you. Good you had your flu jab.
Not very up with IT but could it be a problem with your internet that makes things post so slowly?
Bluesky glad you got your brandy, mustn’t be without vital supplies ?
Joce any news of your DD and DGD?
Hope things are ok.

Joce345 Thu 08-Oct-20 15:42:41

Thank you all
No results yet, such a worry..

Scaredycat Thu 08-Oct-20 17:19:17

A late good afternoon to all.
Annie - so sorry you had such a bad day on Tuesday - we missed you. You must have been so happy to see Mini Tornado. Hope things have improved today sending love.
Joce do hope your family are ok
Nonnie - it must be very hard being in lockdown again - thank goodness for the deliveries eh!! I felt better when I read how you deal with the post etc - I was thinking it was just me! Sorry you had such an uncomfortable night with your tooth hope you get an appointment tomorrow.
Chrissy - yes it was lovely to be with my daughter - precious times. Glad your swelling seems to be going down and hope the Doc reassures you.
Luceyanne -the Aphasia must be a tricky thing to deal with especially when bill paying!! Glad your car passed its MOT that’s one less thing to worry about?
Doodle - hope you have a better night tonight. Tinnitus is so very tiring at the best of times. Wish they could find something to make it go away for us.
Hope everyone sleeps well tonightxx

BlueSky Thu 08-Oct-20 17:26:50

Evening all x Glad you are back Annie sorry you had a grim day, I’m sure your Mini Tornado managed to cheer you up, they are our sunshine aren’t they?
Lucyanne aphasia well I googled it recently as my cousin (early 70s) told me more than once that some days she can’t find the words, either spoken or written. When I mention the doctor she plays it down but obviously it’s not normal, even though she’s on medication for epilepsy. Could be related to that but I would want to ask the GP. Yes Doodle stocked up on brandy just before the first lockdown just in case, then I promptly went off it, not sure why, still it’ll keep!
Have a pleasant evening x wine

Anniebach Thu 08-Oct-20 17:39:07

Thank you scaredycat things have not improved, a dear friend died Monday night from the virus , his wife a dear friend has the virus, I have known them for over 60 years.

A very kind person took over 50 photographs of our town for
Me to see the changes, there were two photographs of that
bridge.

Then next door went off again, she doesn’t have a phone now
so hammered on the door of my lovely next door but 1 neighbour demand he get help for her, she said she was having a panic attack, his much loved Lab had died the day
before and he was grieving.

An ambulance and three police cars arrived again.

I have been asked to sign a petition to have her moved from the Close and to give a written statement. I am so distressed ,
who do I support, my lovely neighbour who just can’t take
anymore of her, last week he had to pick her up off his lawn,
she was drunk.

Or do I continue to remain silent, and stand by whilst he puts
up with it , or join with the residents, she is moved , again, and
perhaps takes her life.

Sorry to pour this out , didn’t mean to but you were so kind x

ChrissyR Thu 08-Oct-20 19:11:29

lucyanne My glands have almost gone right down now. Glad you finally had your flu jab. Sorry the night class you had signed up for was cancelled, I hope that you’ll get to do it in the not too long future. That’s strange that your posts are taking so long to appear, maybe you could ask admin.
BlueSky You’re spot on, I never expect something to sort itself out, I’m straight into panic mode. Brandy, an absolute must have.
Doodle Sorry you had a bad night last night, hope you’re feeling better now.
Joce I hope that the results come soon.
Annie I’m so sorry to hear about your dear friend, I hope that his wife recovers. I can understand what a difficult situation it must be with the lady next door, It sounds like she needs urgent help with her mental health. It’s easy for me to say as I’m not involved but it sounds like she is causing problems with your other neighbours which must be hard to deal with. Maybe she needs to be in sheltered accommodation. I hope that something gets sorted out. I’m glad that you had a visit from your mini tornado.
Hope everyone else is ok.
The GP phoned and said to see how it goes with my glands so fingers crossed. She has agreed to refer me for a private mammogram so hopefully I will get the results quicker.
Have a lovely evening everyone and sleep well x

Doodle Thu 08-Oct-20 19:53:02

Hello all. I am typing with a limp tonight having burnt my hand on a hot plate (as in plate not the hob). I have a lovely big blister on my index finger on my right hand so have put a plaster on it which helps but is a bit like a splint. ?
Joce hope those results come through soon. How are your DD and DGD feeling?
Scaredycat how have you been today?
Bluesky I’m not keen on spirits. I do like a glass of wine or two though. ?
Annie so sorry to hear of the death of your friend from the virus. His poor wife being ill too must be difficult to cope with.
Oh dear, a gesture kindly meant for you to see the town. Sorry the photos of the bridge were included. That must have set you back.
Your poor neighbour having to cope with the woman next door when he was grieving for his dog. It certainly was a bad day for you.
As to the petition, my thoughts would be that this woman, your neighbour, has some serious mental health issues but she is not happy where she is living. If she was happy, she wouldn’t be causing so many problems. On the other hand your male neighbour is obviously being caused distress by this woman. I think I would side with helping your male neighbour as his life is being badly affected by this woman who isn’t happy where she’s living anyway. I can understand your reluctance to get involved but she obviously isn’t getting the help she needs living where she is. Perhaps by moving her on someone will provide better care for her.
It sounds as though there are quite a few people in your road that want her moved, I doubt many of them care like you do x.
Chrissy so glad your glands have gone down now. I thought they would. Happens to me a lot. You must be relieved.
Good news about the mammogram that must be a relief.
Nonnie , lavender hope you are ok.
Sleep well all.x

Joce345 Thu 08-Oct-20 20:20:15

Evening all, thank you all for your concern, DD and DGD have just got results negative.. thank the Lord seem it could be a nasty bug that’s going round, that I can deal with...

Annie good to see you back, so pleased you have seen your MT, neighbours and what to do... she really does need some help that is plain, you care about people but she is not in a good place and really does need help, maybe best if she was moved, you don’t need that worry Annie. Saying that I really don’t know what I would do in your situation.
So sorry to hear about your DF..

Doodle Nonnie scaredycat Bluesky lavender Chrissy Lucyanne
I’m going to have a early night hopefully get some sleep tonight, didn’t get much last night...
Hope I remember everyone to wish you all a good peaceful night sleep... ?

Doodle Thu 08-Oct-20 20:24:18

Oh Joce what a relief. That’s such good news. I bet you sleep better tonight ?

Anniebach Thu 08-Oct-20 20:49:13

The woman is an alcoholic, an alcoholic cannot be sectioned and cannot be forced to go into rehab. She has been moved , I think twice, because she upset her neighbours , this Close is sheltered accommodation, the warden doesn’t visit her and I now know the police comes every time an ambulance is called
because the paramedics are not to enter her house on their own.

Anyway , will have to make a decision, sorry I brought this to the thread

BlueSky Thu 08-Oct-20 20:59:02

Good night all x brew
