My DH just been taken into hospital with an irregular heartbeat, low oxygen and breathlessness worse than normal due to COPD. He has been unwell since xmas eve and we have tried to cope at home with calls to 111 and gp ringing us back with prescription for antibiotics and steriods as he is prone to chest infections. But this morning we had to admitt defeat. Hoping they will discharge later today as dont really want him staying in there, also that they will sort out what ever the issue is. sad

So sorry there isn’t any improvement Travelsafar.
Keep comfortable, warm and hydrated and I really hope your DH turns a corner soon and doesn’t need ICU. Miracles do happen.
Keep positive if you can. ?

So sorry to hear it’s so difficult for you and your husband travelsafar. Keep sipping on that water if that’s all you can manage. Have you any friends or family you are able to keep in touch with by phone? Please let them know how unwell you are feeling if you haven’t already.

I hope you receive some positive news later after your husband’s assessment. We are all thinking of you and wishing you both well.

ICU staff are well-trained in the procedures and that will be the best place, travelsafar.
I'm so sorry and that you feel so poorly too. If you feel worse, please call the NHS for help, don't suffer on your own.

i had that too .phoning nhs 111 was my last resort ,and they sent an ambulance out due to my very high blood pressure . my doctors were hopeless .antibiotics that they knew i couldnt take as they were pencillin. oh you have to persevere ,so i did took them for three days then i couldnt breathe , so was at urgent care two days running .they kept me in 3 days. and different tablets ..am sure your DH will be just fine with the right medication.

Jomarie Sat 02-Jan-21 14:31:12

Joining with others on here in sending positive thoughts to you both.

EllanVannin Sat 02-Jan-21 14:33:34

I can't imagine getting a call at 2am and not being able/ allowed to see anyone . It's bad enough when you are there but far worse when you're not, and left worrying.
I hope this is the therapy that will see improvement in your DH. Special thoughts go to you at this trying time. xx
