Hi
Can anyone recommend a good probiotic supplement please.

Many thanks
Junie

I have never understood why people buy yoghurts which are not “live”. The benefit to health of yoghurt is in the live culture, once pasteurised the only help to health is calories and calcium both of which are also available in live yoghurt.

Hi Poppyred
Interesting, what kefir do you use
Thanks
Junie

It’s Biotiful Dairy - from Morrison’s or Asda. These supermarkets also make their own now which is cheaper and tastes just as good. ?

Taste difference, perhaps? Just a guess as I eat very little yogurt.

I've had to have a couple of courses of antibiotics this year so I have taken probiotics from Holland and Barrett.

Normally I drink kefir or eat live yoghurt regularly.

I am another one who also recommends Symprove (but it's expense). I have used both Symprove and Bio Kult which I mentioned earlier, and both are excellent in my view. I have a number of serious gut problems so taking probiotics is an ongoing thing with me.

"expensive" not expense.

I have Kefir yogurt most days. I also give it to the dog who loves it. He also has the Mango flavoured Kefir drink. The Sainsbury’s one is very nice.
Must look up Bimuno as I’ve never heard of that.

This one.

My suggestion is Symprove too.

Recovering from an illness, especially it you have been taking antibiotics, probiotics will help restore proper digestion, if you have chronic digestion problems they are well worthwhile too.

I would also recommend high dosage acidophilus capsules. H & B’s certainly work for me whenever I have a hint of a digestive problem. Just remember to keep them in the fridge - this instruction’s in such minute print on the bottle that I’m sure it must get overlooked.

JavierPerero reported, btw!

Though I’ve just realised the post was weeks ago! grin

I had to take antibiotics for 18 months and my daughter told me about a kefir site on facebook. That may be useful for you.

I bought kefir grains and made my own drink. The grains increase as you use them so you can give some away if you want.
