Hello, I wonder if any one is suffering with this ailment. I am eighty. Have been treated at a variety of hospitals over a period of ten years. First surgery carried out in 2003. Am between a rock and a hard place. Can have a colostomy at a private BMI hospital for £25,000, or wait indefinitely on the NHS waiting list with no date for the foreseeable. Every day is a challenge. I appreciate that there are countless people far worse off than I am. I would however be most grateful of any first hand information that can help me to manage this dire situation. Thank you.

Please! Could someone send me the link too! I'm struggling to find the appropriate 'slot'. Thank you.

Lucky, you just need to google Go Fund Me, then at top left of page there's a search box. Put in soop and the first result is Annie Carter, our soop.

Thank you for the link, Marydoll

Muckle - DH had an ancestor called Muckle. We always thought it was an odd surname so I'm pleased to realise it means great smile

Luckygirl3 Thu 02-Dec-21 09:38:11

Could someone please send me the link?

Aveline Thu 02-Dec-21 09:37:30

Still a long way to go. Every little helps though.

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 02-Dec-21 09:31:12

£5,595 now!!!

Aveline Thu 02-Dec-21 09:14:46

Common usage though!
I've just shared the Go Fund Me page to Twitter. Not sure if that'll lead to anything but just to keep up the momentum.

Elegran Thu 02-Dec-21 08:16:19

Mickle and muckle were actually versions of the same word once upon a time, both meaning great, or a lot. The original Scots phrase was "Many a little makes a mickle" but it became garbled into mickle and muckle.

Aveline Thu 02-Dec-21 06:34:43

Feelingmyage55 - no. It's a very old Scottish saying.

Thank you for the PM’s with the links!

I’ve been so tied up coping with the after effects of Storm Arwen that I am too tired to look at it properly right now, but I hope I’ll get time in the next day or two. smile

What a great day, the launch and such an easy site to use.
Aveline. “Mony a mickle maks a muckle* was a student fundraising quote. Is that your source?

BladeAnnie Wed 01-Dec-21 19:37:18

Daisytwoshoes Wed 01-Dec-21 18:24:55

Great news “Soop” fingers crossed x

seacliff Wed 01-Dec-21 18:19:04

I've now donated. Very simple - Just google Go Fund Me, then search for Soop and up it pops, so no list/pms needed.

Thanks Muse and Jackyjax for that information. It's at £3,870 now, so every pound counts. I really hope you can get this done asasp Soop.

Nannagarra Wed 01-Dec-21 18:11:29

I’m delighted to donate and help you on your way, soop.
