Hello, I wonder if any one is suffering with this ailment. I am eighty. Have been treated at a variety of hospitals over a period of ten years. First surgery carried out in 2003. Am between a rock and a hard place. Can have a colostomy at a private BMI hospital for £25,000, or wait indefinitely on the NHS waiting list with no date for the foreseeable. Every day is a challenge. I appreciate that there are countless people far worse off than I am. I would however be most grateful of any first hand information that can help me to manage this dire situation. Thank you.

Great news about the fund going well.

'Every one a Maserati'!
Loved Monty Python.

For TillyTrotter

Who could forget the Monty Python organist? ?

(I didn’t use the full photo, not sure GNHQ would approve of bare bottoms before the watershed)

Blossoming Wed 15-Dec-21 10:49:13

Ooh Tilly whatever do you mean? grin

The Happy Christmas has now topped £13,000 from 236 well wishers. Isn’t it lovely to see that there are so many caring people out there?

Marydoll Wed 15-Dec-21 09:34:44

I have just had a look at the total, as I always do first thing and it's sitting at £12,950, which is great news.

Tilly, you are awful!!

Aveline Wed 15-Dec-21 08:27:02

grin

Jaxjacky Wed 15-Dec-21 07:42:26

I’d be careful with the word ‘organ* Tilly!,

TillyTrotter Wed 15-Dec-21 07:23:59

Hmm ? just thinking - a dangerous thing my OH would say

Friends of the Christmas fund (being careful with my words here) could make calendars involving cherry buns, ?
barter them,
and top up said fund.
Remember the film Calendar Girls ? ??
I will be the one who sits at the organ please?

Bumps can take many forms just look at the turn this thread took and the increase in donations. Besides, one can be bumped off a flight and that's the last thing we want for Soop.
Now, back to the fun.

Aveline

My problem with the word 'bumping' is that it is more subtle to post a response with more content than just 'bumping'. This keeps the thread going in a more positive way.

Subtle Aveline ? tchconfused
“Bump” is clear enough.

Effective.

I think "bumping" is used by airlines to indicate that a passenger has been pushed ahead in the queue , or put up into a higher class . It's always a good thing !

Of course we two ladies in waiting will be on call together, fully alert to see to Her Majesty’s every desire Marydoll.
(Sssh) Mr Soop knows nothing of the two beefcakes she demands to turn down her bed in the evening, nor the wee dram in her nightly hot chocolate.

£12,725 really is amazing Tillytrotter ?

TillyTrotter Tue 14-Dec-21 22:30:22

soop ‘s fund total is £12,725 now. Amazing!
It is creeping up. ?

Calistemon Tue 14-Dec-21 22:25:46

Marydoll

Hands off! Surely everyone knows he is my man?

Praying that we have some more donations

You're a lucky woman, Marydoll!

TillyTrotter Tue 14-Dec-21 22:07:28

Haha yes Aveline I’m sure that will be the case!

Blossoming Tue 14-Dec-21 21:57:22

Of course you can NannyTopsy I love sloe gin!

Blossoming Tue 14-Dec-21 21:53:05

That’s a good idea Aveline, people will definitely pay me to stop singing ?

Aveline Tue 14-Dec-21 21:46:05

Will people be sponsoring you to stop Tilly?
Looking at the 'Full Monty' programme on just now maybe that's something we could think about? Obviously only stripping down to our vests though.

TillyTrotter Tue 14-Dec-21 21:32:57

My singing has been known to make dogs howl but I will be happy to sing “Donald where’s yoor trousers?” if Mr Blossoming would give me a few notes on his didgeridoo to keep me in tune.
All in the name of entertainment at our party and I can assure MrS many more donations are likely to flood into soop ‘s fund in appreciation. ? ? ? ?

Nannytopsy Tue 14-Dec-21 21:31:31

Can I come? I have several bottles of sloe gin and rhubarb gin I made earlier in the year ?‍?

Blossoming Tue 14-Dec-21 21:21:20

I could ask Mr. B. To bring his didgeridoo to the party. Though on second thoughts it ought to be called a didgeridont. I’m not sure if the residents of Gairloch have recovered from the impromptu didgeridoo recital following the cider tasting, it was only 5 years ago grin

Charleygirl5 Tue 14-Dec-21 19:04:58

Aldom I rather fancy your tasty sandwiches- I do not like anything fizzy except diet coke and Irn bru so I will bring a very dry white.

I will also come in my night attire as I doubt if I will be fit to go anywhere afterwards so I can find a comfortable bed and collapse there. If Sweetie Pie would like to join me that is fine. If any feline or canine friends come, I am happy to give extra cuddles.

soop Tue 14-Dec-21 17:30:16

When he's recovered from the dizzying responses, Mr Soop will respond to you lot tomorrow. wink

Aldom Tue 14-Dec-21 17:27:04

I'll bring some smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches and a bottle of Prosecco. After a couple of glasses of fizz I'll do the can can (I wish). I'm off to raid the wardrobe for my red and black, laced bodice, matching skirt with lots of net underskirts. Anyone got a spare pair of fish net stockings I can borrow. grin

Aveline Tue 14-Dec-21 17:24:11

Will MrSoop be wearing a 'Health Vest' though?

Lizzie72 Tue 14-Dec-21 17:13:21

Grandmajean

Rab in his string vest is a looker !

He’s mine, all mine grin
