The cost of surgery and 3 days hospital stay is about £6,000. Then my husband and I went to a medical spa for 10 days about 2,000 euros. There's a doctor and nurse there on call day and night. I asked for a painkiller injection and a mild sleeping tablet each night. I am looking forward to being pampered! Therapeutic massage, cyrotherapy and daily physio. They won't operate if you are not fit for surgery I know people who have to get their blood pressure etc down. They made sure I was fit to fly and give you blood thinners if necessary. 3 hrs flight home with airport assistance. Some of the people I met flew in from Canada and USA. I thought the flight home would be uncomfortable but I was fine, I rotated my ankles etc. I am in a Facebook group with other people and no one has had any problems but I don't think the Nhs would refuse to treat you if you developed problems later. It's essential medical surgery after all and it's saving the Nhs £1000s. The Nhs used to send patients to Lithuania for surgery before brexit.
