According to an Oxford prof, 10% of us are larks (me), 25% are owls (MrB), and the rest are pigeons.

You?

I am a hedgehog. I want to sleep for the whole winter.

Definitely an owl for as long as I can remember. As a student I rarely attended morning lectures and did my best tutorial work late at night. As a teacher I was up planning and marking until 1 a.m. and now I just read or watch TV until the early hours. I can't really get going until 11 a.m. but sometimes needs must.

I`m a lark married to an owl.

Sounds like me...glad I'm not the only one.

Left to myself I would be a happy Owl, but...

... school-days, working life and marriage to a husband who wakes at five a.m. at the latest has turned me into a reluctant owl pretending to be a lark.

Now, in retirement, I am gradually returning to the happy Owl I was born to be.

Used to be a park but definitely more pigeon these days,

62Granny Fri 06-Jan-23 12:49:34

That should be Lark not park😂

I’m a lark and an owl. Up at 6am and bed around midnight. I work and weekends probably nearer 8am rise

Treetops05 Fri 06-Jan-23 12:56:17

I'm a very unhappy owl. Due to a medical condition I often don't get to bed until 3-5am, and usually get up at 11-12am...When forced to go to bed at a reasonable time and get up at8-9am I feel incredibly ill for several days sad

Grandmabatty Fri 06-Jan-23 12:58:57

Definitely a pigeon these days. I used to be a park but now only get up early when I have to. My peak is about lunchtime. Then it's downhill all the way 🤣

Grandmabatty Fri 06-Jan-23 13:00:01

Lark! Good grief.

Youcantchoosethem Fri 06-Jan-23 13:10:18

A perpetually exhausted pigeon!

JdotJ Fri 06-Jan-23 13:33:06

Most definitely a Lark

Sawsage2 Fri 06-Jan-23 13:33:26

Owl. Bed at 2am. Up around 11am.(Larks sometimes nap after lunch, which I never do)

Azalea99 Fri 06-Jan-23 14:04:38

Definitely not a Park. More of a Growl

Keffie12 Fri 06-Jan-23 14:11:19

Definitely an owl here. Always have been

Wyllow3 Fri 06-Jan-23 14:14:54

Never an owl, otherwise vary. I prefer pigeon, as you get the maximum daylight that way.

A Pidgeon married to a lark, who insists on bringing me breakfast[lovely thought] in bed when he has his. I once woke up with my hand in something cold and thick he had perched a bowl of porridge on the end of the bed, gone off fishing and I had gone back to sleep.grin

CBBL Fri 06-Jan-23 14:16:18

Definite Lark here! Awake by about 4.00am most days. If I'm still in bed at 7.30am - I'm definitely ill!

LadyHonoriaDedlock Fri 06-Jan-23 14:19:16

Definitely an owl.

First New Year resolution to go in 2023 was the one about getting up at 8 every morning.

Neilspurgeon0 Fri 06-Jan-23 14:29:03

Very very happy lark, best time of every day is before six am

grannybuy Fri 06-Jan-23 15:59:52

Always been an owl. My eyes droop early evening, whereupon I say that I’ll go to bed earlier, but by about 9.30, I have a new lease of life. I’ve swithered about going to bed early in the evening when I’m flagging, but worry that I’d be awake again in the early hours

Musicgirl Fri 06-Jan-23 17:34:34

Definitely a pigeon but would like to be a lark as so many of my family are.

Saggi Fri 06-Jan-23 18:02:25

Always …always been a lark . Had a job when I was 11 helping the milkman at weekends…used to be up at 4.30…..all my jobs since have been early rising jobs …. I’m still early to bed ..early to rise! Best bit of the day is 5-7 in morning ….who would choose NOT to see sunrise?

Davida1968 Fri 06-Jan-23 18:09:40

I'm a bear. I'd hibernate if I could. Just curl up asleep inside a warm den and come out in the springtime. Apparently bears need to have a big feed before they hibernate then they lose a lot of weight while hibernating. So it's a win-win situation, as far as I can see.
