According to an Oxford prof, 10% of us are larks (me), 25% are owls (MrB), and the rest are pigeons.

You?

What defines a pigeon?

A pigeon (dove) is someone who isn't a lark (early to bed early to rise) or an owl (late to bed late to rise). And it's most people.

Reluctant Lark here. Wish I was a pigeon. Fed up waking so bright and early.

I’m a pigeon although dove sounds nicer.

Always been a lark I’d love a lie in now and then but it’s not to be. My neighbour once asked if he woke me leaving for work as my bedroom light was always on i said no I’m just always awake around 5 or 6 am.

An owl here since retiring. 🦉

Owl, since divorce. No getting up early to cook his breakfast - bliss !

Park but would like to be a pigeon.

An owl married to a lark 🙂

Pigeon here, though a lark in the Summer.

I did try to be an owl once upon a time, not any more! Really doesn't suit me at all.

Apparently I’m a giraffe, according to my Fitbit.

nightowl Wed 04-Jan-23 15:47:56

I think I’m a dormouse. Definitely not a nightowl anymore (though I used to work nights, hence the name) and never been a lark. Sit down, fall asleep, that’s me.

Thoro Wed 04-Jan-23 15:54:14

Lark, with a little help from my canine friends who want an early breakfast!

SachaMac Wed 04-Jan-23 15:59:59

Since retiring I’m more of an owl. I love staying up late to binge watch a series or finish a book. It’s great not having to set the alarm and get up at 6.30 everyday.

Theexwife Wed 04-Jan-23 16:38:35

Owl, never go to bed before 3am.

AGAA4 Wed 04-Jan-23 16:49:08

Lark. Often wide awake at 5.30 😦

Owl, never go to bed before 3am.

Good heavens, what do you do until 3 a.m

MayBee70 Wed 04-Jan-23 17:06:39

I’m completely nocturnal. Always have been. Thankfully I only used to work in the mornings so I would get home and sleep for a couple of hours. And when the kids were teenagers it was always me that did the late night/early morning taxi service.

grandMattie Wed 04-Jan-23 17:16:21

Definitely a lark, in fact an extreme lark! Am awake and moving about by 0500!

MrsKen33 Wed 04-Jan-23 17:47:01

Lark, always awake by 6.

NotSpaghetti Wed 04-Jan-23 17:51:20

Always have been an owl.

Theexwife Wed 04-Jan-23 18:20:27

Lucca my day doesn’t start until 10 am, I don't work, I don't do anything special or different just later than larks, even grocery shopping can be done at any time.
