As a royalist but also a princess Diana fan, I'm struggling, I can't stand to see camilla crowned queen, I don't want to watch, it's making me less of a royalist, I wish he'd just pass it on to William and Kate

Do we know the women in the royal family want to work ?

In a world where Trump can become president of the USA (and is likely to get the nomination to run again) and Johnson can become PM of this country with a massive majority I think anything is possible. And Charles is probably the lesser of many evils! I sometimes feel as if I’m living in some sort of alternative universe confused

Some sort of horrible nightmare Keep hoping I am going to wake up (have a shower!), and when I leave that none of the above will have happened also including Brexit!!!

*Only some* of the country was breaking its heart over Diana’s death, the same way as only some of the country are for or against Camilla.
Some had as poor an opinion of Diana as others now have about Camilla.

Totally agree. I had absolutely no feelings at all about the death of a woman whom I had never met. I was totally horrified at the total hysteria which seemed to engulf so many. At least most of my friends and colleagues did not go along that path. I really do not care if some woman has a silly title of Queen or Queen consort. Think ALL titles should be abolished. Diana's death made absolutely no difference to the lives of me and mine, the whole paraphanalia this coming weekend will also make difference in any way.

No time for her, Charles or any of them. Diana was a lamb to the slaughter. Camilla helped set up that marriage. Diana wasn't perfect no one is.

She was used as a breeding machine and discarded when H was born as the heir and the spare were now provided.

With her difficult childhood and used as she was it's no wonder she had M/H problems. Her affairs were a response and looking for love.

Camilla and Chatles never stopped seeing each other.

As for Camilla she has been proved as all the royal leaks, lies and twisting of the truth have come from her.

After the Queen passed the monarchy finished for me.

I don't care that Charles and Camilla are good for each other. They are alive. Diana isn't.

The country would probably be more accepting of them, if Diana had lived.

Everyone I speak to and know of aren't interested in the ConANation

Thank you Keffie12
Your post puts the whole thing in a nutshell.
Royalty finished with the Queen's passing.
Talk about "shooting yourself in the foot"

I loved Diana, but Charles and her were not suited at all. He was required to produce an heir. They should have let him marry Camilla on the first place

And when we choose sarcasm

Or quote sarcasm

Anniebach Wed 03-May-23 17:34:53

They didn’t want to marry

They didn’t want to marry

How do you KNOW that?!

Anniebach Wed 03-May-23 18:26:32

I KNOW

Sarah75 Wed 03-May-23 18:29:08

How?

Nit picking, but royal walkabouts took place before Diana, the late Queen did them for her Silver Jubilee tours in 1977.

Diana introduced a much more natural, easy going relationship with the public though.

King George V and Queen Mary are in fact credited with the first royal walkabout.
In June 1912, George V and Queen Mary visited south Wales and met coal miners at work in the pits of the Rhondda Valley. The Queen had a cup of tea in a miner’s cottage. They met working people and did so informally, not in ‘tall hats and black coats’, but in ‘ordinary country clothes’. The visit was an astonishing success and the template for a new kind of royal tour.

I read that Charles wanted to marry Camilla after his world travels and the lifestyle encouraged by Mountbatten. By then Camilla was married and loved PBowles. He was a real philanderer and she and Charles drifted back into a sexual relationship. Fidelity and stable marriages weren’t common in their circles

How?

Why should Anniebach divulge her sources?

There are many lies that have been told and hearing and repeating the lies in the media makes me cross. However, divulging sources would be a breach of confidence.

Just looking at the timing Camilla married Parker Bowles while Charles was at sea. If she'd been that keen on him she wouldn't have done so.

Iam64 Wed 03-May-23 20:38:17

That’s what I read Aveline. Camilla loved Parker Bowles

Anniebach Wed 03-May-23 20:54:06

I know because I had coffee with someone who had been a guest at Camilla’s wedding to Parker Bowles and she showed me wedding photographs, Camilla loved him , there was no mention of any romance between her and Charles , just he had dated Anne.

Horsey aristocracy a different breed altogether should imagine!

Vintagenonna Thu 04-May-23 09:09:56

Isn't Mr. P-B a frequent guest at Camilla's home? I think their son is quoted as saying they get on well and she has been a great to support to her ex-husband since his wife died. Polyamory is perfectly respectable in some circles.

Galaxy Thu 04-May-23 09:10:59

Crikey that escalated quickly grin

Bizziebe Thu 04-May-23 09:11:31

Mr. P B is invited to the Coronation too.

luluaugust Thu 04-May-23 09:23:42

Just keep your minds on the £! billion benefit to the economy.

That’s what I read about it too.Charles could have married her if he’d asked her earlier on instead of acting the playboy.
He left it too late and by then she’d fallen for PB.

Anniebach Thu 04-May-23 09:28:50

Not true

lemsip Thu 04-May-23 09:50:49

when charles met camilla she'd already been round the block a few times so was out of the question as a bride...

Anniebach Thu 04-May-23 09:55:52

Who are the men she allegedly had sex with ? have they all written books or given interviews?
