My local pharmacy? No, I hadn't thought of that. I'll give it a go. Thanks for that, 62 Granny.

The full patient information is available online on the manufacturer’s website

There is some information online , I just typed in Flarin in to Google and there was plenty of info it is also available to purchase from Amazon, it does say the active ingredient is "encased" in a gel so that it gentler on the stomach. I appreciate you don't want to bother your GP, but why not ask in your pharmacy to speak to the pharmacist they often know more about drugs and how they react than GP. We are being encouraged to use their expertise more they days for medication queries.

Those with an IND are told to avoid ibuprofen

Flarin is an Ibuprofen painkiller. It states that quite clearly on the patient information leaflet.

In view of the current NHS situation, I'd rather not bother my doctor about this issue at present. Instead, I'll try and contact the company that manufactures Flarin ("Infirst Healthcare")
and see what they have to say about this apparent "gamechanger" in the world of ibuprofen painkillers in relation to IBS.

flarin.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/GFLA_PIL_005-Proof_No-panel.pdf It says speak to your doctor/pharmacist before taking it if you have inflamation of the intestines such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis.

Never heard of this but would be interested to know if it’s something I could use. Crohn’s disease.

Hi - I've tried to find if Flarin (a new kind of ibroprofen painkiller) is okay for those with irritable bowel syndrome. Google search absolutely refuses to recognise the question. So can anyone on Gransnet help?

Mant thanks.
