It’s a feeling as if you want to urinate but nothing comes out. When I do go it still feels a little odd. Sometimes I’m not sure if I want to go or not. Also having to wear pads as have accidents. Other times I feel okay and the feeling improves. I take d-mannose every day and I have had a couple of Cystopurin sachets. Have had this feeling for the last few weeks. I have had a weak pelvic floor since I had my first pregnancy and had two anterior repairs one at the age of 25 and another at 30. I am 81 now so have been a slave to my bladder for some time. Attended a clinic which encouraged me to increase time between weeing. My real problem is this nerve type feeling while urinating and in between. Has anyone had similar symptoms? I knowI should try to get a doctors appointment but keep hoping it will improve. Just wondering if anyone has had anything similar

Thank you welbeck. They think she has pneumonia too so she is being given intravenous antibiotics and a lot to attention. I just wanted to say that the ambulance service was fairly quick and the hospital staff were amazing in A&E. It was very heartening.

I paid to see a specialist as I kept getting cystitis and being prescribed antibiotics. The 'main man' said beware antibiotics, they can make things much worse and problems become chronic, and extend to thrush and other nasties. If you need an antibiotic it should be specifically targeted at the bacterium causing the trouble, not broad spectrum. I take uva ursi and the homeopathic remedy cantharis to keep things 'ok' down there. Cranberry juice can have too much sugar which also makes things worse. Don't neglect your condition. Drink lots of water and take a sample in. Good luck.

Thank you. I haven’t heard of uva ursi but will look it up. I was told that d-mannose had to be recommended by a consultant so since March 2022 have been taking it as a preventative measure in a glass of unsweetened cranberry juice. Until this last episode I have been free of infections. I am finishing the antibiotics today so tomorrow I am going back on it. These uti ‘s are a real problem and taking antibiotics is something that is necessary but have their own problems.

Had been recommended and not had to be recommended. Get mine from Amazon and in capsule form.
