For the support, understanding and sharing of mental health issues.

For newcomers, there are some people who post regularly, some occasionally, and some like to read.

All are welcome.

wishing all the best nights possible

and bests for an important appointment for Sweetpeasue tomorrow.

Sweetpeasue Mon 12-Jun-23 20:57:56

Doodle Oh another 6 weeks, and 2 bones broken! That sounds such a nasty injury. You must be fed up with not being able to use it. I'm glad that at least you have a more comfortable splint but you must be disappointed that you've to wear it for longer. Reassuring to have a consultant who is gentle and caring. You will end up being very ambidextrous by the time the splint comes off.
As for myself, it seems to be a pattern lately where the attack of pain happens in early hrs of morning. Yesterday and today Ive not had that again on the afternoon, though Ive had bowel pain on an evening with some nausea. Was told that the Radiologist will look at scans and results will be sent to the Gynaecologist within 2 dys and then I'll get letter from him after that.
I dont understand why I'm getting the bowel pain back again.
Hope you can manage to sleep tonight, it must be so hot under that splint.

Wyllow3 Mon 12-Jun-23 21:20:46

I'd be so incredibly frustrated Doodle

I'm just glad you have a caring consultant and a more comfy splint. In this hot weather...

After the weeks of constant nights up with MrD..... now this happens. I'm impressed you knew the different bone names. Did you look them up or know already?

I'm glad it's only a 2 day wait Sweetpeasue for the results. I so hope something comes out of it that is helpful. Have you decided about the GP suggestion of a "2 day break"?

Is the bowel pain definitely related to the other pains or separate or you don't know? A very swollen bowel can be very very painful cramps wise if it presses on your main problem areas?
Definitely hoping information that helps comes out of results.

Moving - I just don't know Doodle but low level support just "there" not any place with organised this that and the other (shudder).

Decorators not coming till 3rd week July so cant t my house on the market till after that.

I'm still agitated all the time about making right decisions and doubt my ability to make them and still often plagued by Ex memories but not extreme today, in fact I moved on a bit in that respect
I have counselling tomorrow and need to tell her last week triggered too much.

About 6pm at last I got thunder and heavy rain and it was lovely.

Scaredycat Mon 12-Jun-23 21:27:44

Doodle- no wonder you have had so much pain - what a bad break it was. Should feel better with the new splint hopefully.
All holiday washing done and dry!! It was so hot yesterday it dried before we went to bed.!
SweetPeaSue- glad your appointment went ok for you. I think we get past caring who does our treatments as long as they are kind .
HVDY- Sorry your legs feel so uncomfortable still but good that your dizzy/shaky feelings have improved.
EllieAnne- hope your family troubles resolve soon and you get some peace of mind. It was lovely weather yesterday for spending time in the garden with your family- glad you had something nice in your weekend.
Wyllow- hope you have a less stressful night tonight.
Well I had my echocardiogram this morning- bit of a muddle. We got there early followed the letter instructions and were shown to the waiting area - so far so good. My appt then wasn’t on time and after a while I heard my name mentioned out of sight and after investigating it turned out that I had been sent the wrong information and I should have been in another part of the hospital😩 Eventually got to the right place and had the echo. No idea when I hear the results but I,m just glad it’s done.
Whiff,Candy,Allsorts, and all hope tonight is peaceful .

nadateturbe Mon 12-Jun-23 21:56:15

Have read posts, not got energy to think through replying and not feeling well. Not a great week. Hope you hear soon Sweetpeasue and Scaredycat. Sorry about your wrist being so bad, Doodle, you have done well for such a bad injury.
Thinking of you all.x

Ellie Anne Mon 12-Jun-23 22:00:33

Doodle he loved watering the plants.
Sorry you have been keep on with the splint.
Sweet pea sue you are very brave having that examination. Having a smear test used to freak me out as it was so painful.
I hate any conflict so will carry on as if nothing has happened. But I am upset.

Doodle Mon 12-Jun-23 22:05:18

Sweetpeasue 2 days. That’s not too bad. Hope you get to hear the results soon. Sorry about the bowel pain. Have you been taking more pain meds? Could it be connected with constipation?
Wyllow I’m fine about the splint. To be honest if I’d landed fully on my face instead of a glancing blow it could have been so much worse so I have no complaints. It’s not too bad during the day or when I’m asleep but between 8pm and bedtime is the time it hurts most. Still not taking painkillers so it can’t be that bad.
I love a torrential down pour too. Not so much the lightening. Also worry about those out in it. But it does clear the air.
Scaredycat well done on the washing. Once that’s put of the way like feels like it’s back to normal. Glad you got your echo done. Hope you get the results soon. Will they go to your GP or do you have another hospital appointment follow up?

Sweetpeasue Mon 12-Jun-23 22:22:54

ScaredycatOh that wasn't a good start when you were already anxious, to be given wromg instructions. Good thing you heard your name being called. We know that we might have to wait a good while and you feel awful asking if you've been forgotton if they're running way behind. Glad its over with.
Yes I suppose you do get past caring though I wasn't prepared for a man doing such an intimate thing! I was ok. Hope you sleep and dont worry too much about the echo.
Wyllow Moving house is a major decision at the best of times so not surprising you are beset with dkubts and concerns. So much running through your head. Good you have counsellor tomorrow as you can offload a bit though I'm sure it can be exhausting.

Maybe I've not explained things lroperly but the GP asked me to take the 2 dys of full painkillers back on the 9th (last day of prev BD) when I was so overwhelmed with pain and he told DH to ring crisis for me. I tried to speak to GP on phone but I was in such a state. So I took the painkillers then - hence I fell asleep in waiting room on Saturday.
I dont know if Bowel pain related to other yet. Beginning to think they won't ever find out. Its strange how that's started on an evening again last few dys but the bladder pain by far the worst.
You take care and so hope your night is better than last.

Wishing everyone a peaceful night. x

Sweetpeasue Mon 12-Jun-23 22:36:02

Nadateturbe Do hope you're not coming down with anything. Please dont worry. So sorry you've had a bad week. x

EllieAnne It wasn't like a smear test thank goodness. Just a wand like thing that picks up sound waves from inside. It's really not too bad at all.
Seems like carrying on as normal might be the best for now. I hate any upset too.

Doodle It's difficult to get it right but last night suddenly rushing and very loose but opposite day before. Its a weird pain in the bowel as if its being stretched from inside.
Hope it rains or thunders here - so close.

Wyllow3 Mon 12-Jun-23 23:19:38

Thank goodness yogurt there in the end, Scaredycat, tho the error would have my heart rate changing (tho I realise that's not what they are measuring). I do hope results dont take too long, it depends on the speed the doctors can process the results. (Do you get computer results from the dept? They vary so much). Yes, super drying weather.

Hugs for the not great week, nadateturbe.

Sounds like a really bad upset, EllieAnne.

It must be at the end of a day when you've been carrying it around and moving, Doodle.

Had a long chat with DocSis as was able to chat and focus on her interests and life tonight. Possible stay in mid July but she is OK with last minute decisions.

Doodle Mon 12-Jun-23 23:29:37

nadateturbe sorry you’ve not had a good week and aren’t feeling too great. Hope things improve for you.
Ellie Anne kids love playing with water don’t they. Sometimes just carrying on is the best way to avoid further conflict and allow things to settle. I would feel upset too. Not a nice feeling is it.
Sweetpeasue it is difficult to regulate things isn’t it. We usually takes the same stuff then add or reduce the bran and raisins depending on how we feel. Hope you manage to sleep better tonight.
Wyllow good you had a nice catch up with your sister. Be nice if you got to see her.
Hugs all round

HowVeryDareYou2 Tue 13-Jun-23 07:49:24

SweeteaSue Glad you got that over and done with. Having a full bladder and then an internal isn't pleasant. I hope you won't have to wait too long for the results, and that something can be done to help you. Yes, I feel able to drive now, thankfully.
Doodle Oh, you had a bad wrist - both bones eh. Good that the splint seems to be helping a bit. Yes, the steroids were for the Vasculitis, but have made no difference at all.
Wyllow3 Lovely to have a thunderstorm. I love them. We got about 20 minutes of it yesterday, but it didn't seem to cool things down.
ScaredyCat It's been perfect weather for getting the washing dry. Have you now got lots of ironing? That was poor, being sent to the wrong department. Hope you'll get the results soon.
nadateturbe Sorry you've had a bad week. Hope you feel ok soon.

I'm going to see Son1's ex (from about 13 years ago) today. We've stayed in touch all this time. It's her birthday next week, when she's on holiday, so I'm taking her presents today. We never stop chatting grin. Hope all BDers manage to have a decent day x

HowVeryDareYou2 Tue 13-Jun-23 20:24:55

How's everyone been today, with this heat?

Terrible news in my home town - I know all the areas concerned (though live on the outskirts of Nottingham). So awful for the bereaved families.

Doodle Tue 13-Jun-23 20:55:57

HVDY taking steroids isn’t so bad if you feel it’s helping but to go through all that for no benefit isn’t much fun. Can’t believe they haven’t reviewed you before now.
Not typing much tonight . I’ve overdone it with my wrist and am sitting here with an ice pack on it. Really aches.
Did your son have any children with his ex? Sounds as though you two get on really well. Yes I’ve read the news. Awful. Didn’t realise it was so close to you. Shocking.
Back later

Wyllow3 Tue 13-Jun-23 21:02:25

Not a good day extra meds and overtired fed up of koko.

xx

BD's.

HowVeryDareYou2 Tue 13-Jun-23 21:04:18

Doodle No, he didn't have any children with her (he's just got the 2 girls) She got married and has got a 9 year old. The area where the older man was found dead is about 7 miles from me, so not really near, but I know all the areas involved. My legs are very painful today, and another new "rash" has appeared (broken blood vessels under the skin, purple, which turn orange-brown after so many days). Sorry your wrist is hurting. Ice should help.

Scaredycat Tue 13-Jun-23 21:16:59

Evening all.
HVDY- terrible for your town to have such a sad thing happen.
Two innocent young people - poor families. Also the other poor people who were also hurt.
Hope you had a nice day with your Sons ex- so good spending time with younger people they cheer you up.
Don’t deal with the heat very well - your heart has to work harder in the heat and mine is on overtime already😩 went to the garden centre to get some plants for the pots - so tomorrow we,ll pot them up.
Wyllow- it would be good for you to see your Sis - she sounds like she’s pretty chilled and won’t put pressure on.
Doodle- yes what a good job it wasn’t your face that took the brunt of the fall. My friends husband fell in the street and did terrible damage to the lower half of his face. He’s ok now though.
I,m not sure how I,ll get the results of the echo - trying not to dwell on it or my imagaination goes into overdrive.
Hope you,re dealing with this heat ok.
SweetPeaSue- hope your pain is giving you a break today.
Nadateturbe- hope you feel better soon.
Wishing to all a cooler night .xx

Wyllow3 Tue 13-Jun-23 22:42:08

I'm nervous about going anywhere Scardeycat even the gym these days at times, but at my sis's I could stay in bed all day and she would be OK with it, she gets it, also has a huge quiet house and can ring crisis line from anywhere too

Best nights y'all. x

Doodle Tue 13-Jun-23 22:50:10

Wyllow you sound as though you need a hug. Sending you one asap.x
HVDY I have just ordered some small ice pack for my wrist (had bag of peas on for most of the evening) . I think as my fingers have loosened up I accidentally do more than I should hence the aching.
DH has venous eczema. The skin in his lower legs is like brown leather. Sort of scabby scales. The betnovate ointment GP prescribed has helped a lot. The leather skin is gradually peeling off leaving new skin below. Could you GP prescribe anything to help your rashes? Any news on the new baby yet?
Scaredycat I can only imagine how much the hear affects your heart. I am struggling and I don’t have AF. Feel exhausted most of today.
You should get the results of your echo. You could try asking your GP. After all it is your body and if they subject you to these tests the least they could do is tell you the results.
Sweetpeasue how are you? I’m wondering how you’ve been today?

Doodle Tue 13-Jun-23 22:51:01

Wyllow a trip to your sisters sounds as though it would do you good.

HowVeryDareYou2 Wed 14-Jun-23 06:52:58

ScaredyCat I suppose you need to keep as cool as you can, and not do too much, with your AF. I hope when you get your results the hospital will be able to do something to help you.

Doodle What I've got is Vasculitis - inflammation of the blood vessels. My feet and legs are smooth, so no cream would help. I've seen the condition your husband has (during my years of being a care worker). It's different. I'm glad the ointment is helping him. No news yet, and Son's GF is fed-up, in this heat.

Up early this morning (6am), trying to get a couple of things done before it gets too hot.

Ellie Anne Wed 14-Jun-23 08:17:28

This is my day for going to son 1. Very apprehensive after weekend but nobody has said don’t come so I will go.
Prayers and positive thoughts appreciated.

HowVeryDareYou2 Wed 14-Jun-23 10:29:44

Wyllow3 Would you be able to go and visit your sister? It might do you good to get away for a break.

EllieAnne I don't do prayers, but I hope your day goes well and that you have a nice time with your son.

Today is strange - for many reasons. DH had a medication review, and was told the results of his heart scan thing - enlarged heart, so he's got to increase his BP tablets. He was apparently asked some questions about home, etc. He told the GP he "looks after" me because I'd had a stroke and have got a brain tumour (true, but it's small and doesn't cause any symptoms). Now, I feel I must be a burden. I'm not having that! I've done most of the ironing (30 items), vacuumed the bedrooms and stairs. Hope all BDers have a cooler day x

Doodle Wed 14-Jun-23 11:30:50

HVDY ah yes I understand now. I thought because you mentioned rashes that it was the skin itself that was the problem. I got up early too. Did the ironing at 8pm last night with windows open and fan on. Your DS’s GF must be hoping the baby is born soon.
Cheeky your DH🤣 you are always on the go. Hope he is ok.
EllieAnne in my prayers. I know that jittery feeling and the stress. Hope all goes well.

Scaredycat Wed 14-Jun-23 16:37:06

Hi all we potted all our plants this morning so this afternoon I haven’t moved!! They will need a water tonight it’s still so warm. Think I will too!!!!
Wyllow- yes there are many times when I get the shakes before going anywhere too even familiar places like your Gym. But we get there don’t we even on jelly legs. Your sister sounds a great person and I think you would feel relaxed at her house. She’s just the sort of person you need to see sometimes - sisters are special. Hug from me too.
Doodle- those little ice packs should help they will be handy to have anyway. Trouble is once things start to feel improved we just want to do stuff- I never learn as I,m sure I,ve said before.
That ointment your husband uses sounds really good - do his legs itch? I was getting legs like a lizard and itchy but I got some Aveeno and no more itchy lizard legs😀
Yes I,ll have to ask the GP if I don’t hear anything re the echo.
HVDY- your new Grandchild is waiting for the weather to cool down a bit!! Poor GF must feel so tired and cheesed off.
You are the least burdensome person I can think of - you never stop!! I,m sorry DH has an enlarged heart - does he worry or is he chilled. Please don’t work too hard - ironing is horrid in this weather.
EllieAnne- hope you,ve had a nice day with your Son - don’t worry I,m sure everything will be ok.
SweetPeaSue,Candy,Nadateturbe,Whiff, Allsorts and anyone I,ve forgotten hope today has been as good as possiblexxx

HowVeryDareYou2 Wed 14-Jun-23 17:45:21

Doodle The "rash" is actually broken blood vessels under the skin. It looks unsightly and is painful at times, but could be very much worse. Son's GF and I message each other every day - I told her to have a hot curry, walk up and down stairs a few times, and give baby a prod grin. How have you and your husband been today - been watching boats going by?

Scaredycat What plants have you potted? I must get some for our patio. I like to see a bit of colour in the garden. My husband doesn't worry about anything, he's really laid-back.

SweetpeaSue, Wyllow3 whiff, Candy6, Allsorts Nadateturbe and anyone I haven't mentioned - hope you're all ok x
