I was covered in the rash, it’s awful.
Nothing relieved it. The only way was to cut out gluten completely from my diet. It started to improve but took weeks for it to go completely. I have no problem with my skin at all unless I eat gluten. I’m very careful but if I eat out and there is cross contamination, say a sandwich prepared on a surface that has normal bread on it , I get a flare up but nothing like the original rash.
The problem is in diagnosing gluten intolerance is that you have to keep eating gluten until you have a colonoscopy which will give a diagnosis. A blood test sometimes doesn’t show it up.
I couldn’t stand the awful itchy rash so cut it out straight away after my doctor thought it was gluten intolerance, so I’ve never been formally diagnosed. That’s ok though , I’m better and my doctor agreed that this was ok. Hope this helps
