For the support, understanding and sharing of mental health issues.
All are welcome. We treat each other with kindness.

nadateturbe Fri 23-Feb-24 20:38:44

Sweetpeasue how was it? Hope you're feeling all right.
Hope everyone has been ok today.
In bed today, but like all of you, take each day as it comes.

Doodle Fri 23-Feb-24 21:19:02

Sweetpeasue hope you’re ok and the doctor didn’t let you down. How did it go?
Scaredycat it was lovely here today lots of sun but cold. Yesterday was our big rain day. Hope you didn’t get too wet.
I don’t dye my hair either. It’s brown. Nothing fantastic but I suppose I should be grateful it’s kept its colour.
I don’t have a specific Easter egg tree just a few branches that I decorate with baubles at Christmas, hearts at valentines and eggs at Easter. Yes cramps wore off during the course of the day today thank you.
HVDY I’ve just ordered 4 steaks from Sainsbugs with that very thought in mind🤣. I eat broccoli, carrots, celery, peas and kale. Cauliflower when I buy one.
Hope your nephew is doing well and his results come through ok. I bet your DH was a very proud grandad in charge of little chubby chops. What colour nails this time?
nadateturbe and Wyllow sleep well x

Sweetpeasue Fri 23-Feb-24 21:38:52

Sorry can't address everyone. Quite a day. Procedure quick and fairly painless apart from injection. 2 stitches.Need to go back for results 8th March.
Awful sore throat and ear-ache ,jaw stiff but googled tongue biopsy and it's to do with nerves attached to tongue so felt better knowing that.
Then couple of hrs after noticed small white thread in mouth. Husband said it wouldn't be stitch. Another couple of hrs second one. Realised stitches had come out! Should be in 2/7 dys before dissolving. Rang given number on post instructions and couldn't understand apart from if it bleeds to go to A&E. Went to walk in clinic for Injurys and nurse looked and said should be OK if doesn't bleed.
Bit upset about it as the crevice/hole might not heal in as neat a way plus more chance of infection. Don't know why they weren't put in properly in first place.
Taken all my painkillers and hoping for the best. Typical it's weekend.
I'm to just eat smooth things for few dys

Sorry write more tomorrow. We're both fed up at present.

Love to all and thankyou so much for you're caring. Peaceful night. X

nadateturbe Fri 23-Feb-24 22:30:32

Oh dear Sweetpeasue that is so unsatisfactory. I hope it doesn't bleed. But I'm sure the nurse knows what she's doing. I wonder if you suck an ice cube occasionally and avoid anything warm for a day or two, would it help. Fingers crossed you have a good night.

Sweetpeasue Fri 23-Feb-24 22:36:12

Nadateturbe Thanks yes I'll not be having anything too warm. Hope you have a good night too. x

Wyllow3 Sat 24-Feb-24 00:02:17

Reading and sending hugs xx

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 24-Feb-24 08:09:23

SweetpeaSue Glad you got it over and done with. Fingers crossed it doesn't bleed. Take it easy for a couple of days. Ice cream smile.

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 24-Feb-24 08:15:09

Doodle Your diet sounds very good. Would you eat liver? Beans, dried fruits like apricots and raisins, are good for Iron. DH is great with the baby. She adores him smile. Pale pink nails for me, glittery dark red for DIL.

It's a bright and sunny but cold start to the day. I suppose I ought to do some cleaning and perhaps sort out some stuff for the charity shops. Hope ALL BDers manage to see some sunshine x

Sweetpeasue Sat 24-Feb-24 18:36:39

Been a bright sunny day here. Did some washing and bit of ironing and changed bed. Made DH a Quiche. Tongue a bit sore but nothing too bad at all. Just being careful with it. Salt water mouth washes disgusting. Yoghurts and scrambled egg. Really trying to not think of worst .
HVDY I packed up some stuff for charity shop a couple of weeks ago. Surprising what you accumulate. I like pale pink for nails. Don't know why I don't do them more often -probs just laziness. DH went out and got a few things. Aunt rang ,even though I told her about Friday and couldn't be going out. She doesn't remember much, not her fault. Glad to hear DH saw her at local supermarket with her DGD. Trying not to talk very much.

Hope everyone has been OK today. X

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 24-Feb-24 18:56:23

SweetpeaSue You poor thing. Could you have soup (not too warm) and bread, or semolina/custard. with jam? I hung soe washing out, did the hoovering, mopping and polishing downstairs. Sorted out bedding and some clothes for the charity shop. Son1 and girls called in for an hour or so, before they went to the city centre.

Hope everyone has been alright x

Sweetpeasue Sat 24-Feb-24 19:09:51

HVDY You have been busy. Might have some soup tomorrow. Oh semolina -not had that since was at school. Quite liked that. Could have asked DH to get it this morning-though he'd probably come back with ground almonds or the like. He has had a decent day without the headaches. x

Doodle Sat 24-Feb-24 21:11:54

Sweetpeasue I’m glad your procedure is over . Bit of a nuisance the stitches coming lose. I hope your tongue isn’t too sore. Yes stick to the soft things. Did they say how long it would take to heal or when you will hear the results?
Pleased to hear your DH had a better day too.
HVdY I used to love liver when my mum cooked it. DH won’t touch it.
It’s lovely the little one has a bond with her DGD. Our youngest DGD had a special bond with DH hen she was a baby too. When he was in the room no one else got a look in 🤣
Your pink nails look nice. My nails are awful I never do anything with them.
Ellie Anne hope you have a good weekend and you too Scaredycat and Candy.
Hope you are gaining strength nadateturbe and Wyllow x

Doodle Sat 24-Feb-24 21:12:50

Darling grandad DGD I mean . 😊

nadateturbe Sat 24-Feb-24 21:14:59

Doodle I'm glad you had a good afternoon with your craft friend and that your cramps eased. Prunes have iron and are also good for constipation. I have a few warm ones before my porridge. I've still a lot of brown hair. We're both lucky I think.

Sweetpeasue so glad your tongue is OK. Home made quiche is lovely. What kind did you make?. I keep meaning to.
Seems like it's been a very good day, lots done, and OH hasn't had headache and Aunt has had company. Happy for you.

HVDY you've been very busy too! I'm exhausted listening to both of you. Do you still have semolina? I remember getting it in school with prunes. It was nice. light pink is a nice nail colour. Thats what mine are.
I changed my bed yesterday. I have this lovely creamy satiny set from Dunelm, so comfy. Today did very little. I went out for a couple of hours, bought some summer tops, had coffee in Marks and chatted to a lady at the table next to me. In bed now.
Hope everyone is having a good evening. xx

Sweetpeasue Sat 24-Feb-24 21:26:00

Doodle I'm quite worried as the stitches were meant to be in for 3 to 7dys. Tbh my tongue looks a bit of a mess at present and I'm listing a bit. Although not bleeding there's a small cavity where I think the stitches were. It's on side of tongue. I have to go back to see them on 8th March.
Hope your DH is feeling a little stronger. It must be quite hard work for him to retrieve his strength.

Sweetpeasue Sat 24-Feb-24 21:35:36

Nadateturbe Thanks. The quiche was very simple. Sautéed chopped red onions ,add 3 beaten eggs and a little milk to pan then tip into pastry case. I just put lots of finely chopped cheddar into it ,about 6 or 7ozs and press it into mixture with a fork. That's it. The sun makes us think of better weather doesn't it. Nice to have some new things for summer.
Wyllow Night night. Thankyou for hugs. Xx

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 24-Feb-24 22:25:50

SweetpeaSue I love quiche - had it yesterday in the pub - especially home-made. Lovely. DH doesn't like it (he only likes about 7 meals in total!) Glad your husband's head was ok today.

Doodle I ate liver once, when I was pregnant. Never again. Neither DH nor I eat offal. Or shellfish. Hope you and your husband have a decent weekend.

Nadateturbe I haven't had semolina for many years but might buy some. Your day sounds nice. I love new bedding.

EllieAnne Hope you've been ok today.
Wyllow3 Hope you're getting on alright.

Wishing ALL BDers a good sleep x

Ellie Anne Sat 24-Feb-24 22:40:12

Thank you. This morning I had a quick walk on one beach then bought a scone from a great wee bakery and went to a friend’s. We share a scone because they are so big.
This afternoon I called on a neighbour to see if she fancied a walk down the other beach. Her dh has been in hospital for a while and is on waiting list for a home.
Now in bed and watching an old Jonathan creek on iPad.goodnight everyone.

nadateturbe Sat 24-Feb-24 23:23:13

Sweetpeasue thanks for the quiche details.
Your tongue doesn't sound right. I wonder should you try to see someone about it on Monday.
HVDY I feel sick at the thought of liver.
EllieAnne nice day with friends. Scones are often huge now. So sad for your friend and her husband.

Wyllow3 Sun 25-Feb-24 01:00:36

A late night night xxx

HowVeryDareYou2 Sun 25-Feb-24 10:17:56

EllieAnne Glad you had some company yesterday. It must be lovely to be near a beach. I bet your neighbour was glad to see you, particularly as she's going through a worrying time with her husband.

How's everyone this morning? I've changed the spare bed (where DH goes when his snoring is too much grin), had the washer on, ironed a few things of DH's. Going to meet Son1, his girls, and his GF for lunch later, then a walk along the embankment. Hope ALL BDers have a decent day x

nadateturbe Sun 25-Feb-24 10:51:40

That sounds lovely HVDY. Glad you feel ok. Enjoy your afternoon. Its a bright day. 🌞 smile.
I have done any necessary housework, great! (surprised that I could after being out yesterday) so husband can spend time in the garden, trimming the fuschia etc.
Hope you all have a good day.xx

Doodle Sun 25-Feb-24 14:47:04

nadateturbe I’m glad you were able to get out a bit and do some shopping. A bit of retail therapy is nice. I went to M&S yesterday but couldn’t really find anything I wanted (I tried really hard 🤣)
Sweetpeasue I would phone them up Monday and ask about your tongue. I’m sure it’s fine really but it sounds a bit uncomfortable so be good to check.
HVdY don’t you ever have a rest? 😊 You’re always so busy, I wish I felt like doing more. Hope you had a nice lunch and a lovely afternoon with your family.
Ellie Anne I love scones but I know what you mean, sometimes they are huge. Glad you met up with a friend. Nice to get in a couple of beach walks too.
Scaredycat have you been out? It’s overcast here but not raining thank goodness.
I won’t be posting again today as we have to be up really early to get DH to hospital for his appointment. I’m waiting for Sainsbugs to deliver dinner and then we will be having a quiet evening and early night,
Take care Wyllow

Sweetpeasue Sun 25-Feb-24 15:42:06

Doodle Hope you manage to get some sleep in for the early morning rise. I can imagine it must be quite a busy morning for you getting DH ready. Hope you're breathing better now too. What's happened to M&S -I can never find anything either.
EllieAnne Glad you were able to see some friends yesterday and have some beach walks. I'm sure your neighbour appreciated your visit too.

Woke up very low. I don't think the tongue is right. Rang number on a aftercare form they gave me and left a message -he never called back. Got out for a beach walk early afternoon and took mind of it a little. The linear white ulcer type thing seems to have been divided by the incision and top bit is touching over molars. Not sure if it should be. Honestly, both stitches shouldn't come out ,let alone 1. Phoned back again and this time he said to go to emergency clinic tomorrow morning at the hospital to check it's right.
I wish I didn't feel so anxious about it but I can't stop my mind thinking negatively.
Hope everyone's day has been OK for you all.x

HowVeryDareYou2 Sun 25-Feb-24 17:52:10

nadateturbe Fuschias are very pretty, aren't they? My dad used to have them. I might have a look in the new B&M (that's just opened a mile away), in the week. It's apparently got a large gardening section. It's been sunny here but turned very cold.

Doodle I sit for hours. I haven't got the energy I had only a couple of years ago even, which is so frustrating. I do what I can, when I feel like it. Hope your shopping arrives ok. Best of luck with your husband's appointment tomorrow.

SweetpeaSue No, the stitches shouldn't have come out like that. I hope you get it sorted out ok tomorrow. It's easy for me to say, but try not to worry - you can cope, you always do. You're stronger than you realise.

DH and I had a nice few hours with family, a delicious Sunday roast (always better when someone else cooks) and a walk in a park (the girls played on the swings etc). Hope ALL BDers have a cosy evening x
