My best friend and love of my life passed away this morning at the hospice. I am heartbroken.

Scaredycat Sun 19-May-24 15:36:57

HVDY - how sad your SiL couldn’t remember you- all those years and all the times you,ve had together. Does it upset her - I worry about when my friend gets worse.
We feel like you about another cat- really love them but don’t miss dirt trays etc. I get a fix when I visit my DD and her 2 rescues. Also “bird house boy” was asleep in there again today.
You did have a busy day yesterday - hope you enjoyed the BBQ. It won’t be long before Chubby Chops is bouncing about on the trampoline!!
Doodle- so glad you have both been able to enjoy the sunshine- you have so needed to be able to do these simple but enjoyable things.Just relax and let the peace and tranquility strengthen you.
Nadateturbe- glad you liked the photo. I have done a couple of door paintings but can’t seem to get motivated to draw or paint at the moment.
Hope you had a better night last night that was a long time to be awake. If only we had an On/Off switch!!
EllieAnne- the garden does call you once the sun comes out doesn’t it. But it’s so annoying when you can’t do what you used to. Getting down to the earth is not too bad but Oh the getting up again. Sometimes think I,ll get stuck and take root.
Have you heard from your DD?
SweetPeaSue- I envy you a plum tree- are they Victorias?
Glad your DH has agreed to see the Dr - constant headaches must wear him out.
Nice to have a visit from DGS - it must cheer you both up to see his little face.
Hope you feel better today and can enjoy the sunshine.
Wyllow- It might help if ,as HVDY suggested, someone could come in and sort your garden out a bit. How about a bird bath - they are so nice to watch.
I do hope that you get someone on Tuesday who you like and feel comfortable with.
So glad to see you posting more but realise the big effort you are making to do so- Thank You you have more courage than you think.
Love to all

HowVeryDareYou2 Sun 19-May-24 09:13:06

nadateturbe It's so frustrating when that happens. Hope you have a good day today.

Wyllow3 That's a shame. Could you get someone to clear it a bit? Now that we're getting some warm weather, it seems a pity for you not to be able to enjoy it. I realise, though, that things aren't so simple for you. I hope you have a better day today. Koko.

Doodle Hope you and your husband are able to see a bit of sunshine.

Hope ALL BDers mange to have a decent day x

Wyllow3 Sun 19-May-24 00:09:06

Good cleaning and preparation, HVDY.

I'm glad that you got out and gardened, EllieAnne

I'm sorry you had a bad night, nadateturbe and then lost a reply.

Sweetpeasue sorry it was just a koko day.

HVDY the garden is now huge and overgrown and it doesn't give me pleasure, tbh leaving house on own even the garden no pleasure and also the garden was an "us" thing too. Sweetpeasue atm its a case of seeing if we can get someone else involved, not straightforward. btw I am on max meds, been with MH over 20 years now.

Night night to all BD's

nadateturbe Sat 18-May-24 21:51:29

Typed a long reply and phone went dead. Hope you feel a bit better soon Sweetpeasue.
Have a lovely family day HVDY.

Hope you have had some good family time today Doodle sending love. x

Goodnight everyone. Hope you have a peaceful one.xx

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 18-May-24 21:21:11

EllieAnne It's been the right weather to be in the garden. Is your garden big? Ours is long but mainly grass and patio, with flowers in tubs. It's been warm here - the sun came out at about 11ish.

nadateturbe That's a very long time to be awake. You must be shattered. Do you get up, or lie in bed? I always wake up at about 5.30, occasionally get back to sleep, but not usually. I was up at 7.30 today. It turned very warm here, too.

SweetpeaSue Nice for you to have seen your grandson yesterday. Precious times. Hope you feel better tomorrow. I do hope your husband gets on ok at the doctor's on Monday.

It's been a good day - DH put up a 10ft trampoline, which took a few hours. I cleaned the patio and garden furniture, then did a big shop for tomorrow - Son1 and family will be here for a BBQ. Son2 and his friend, too, but not DIL and children, they're going to a child's party.

Hope ALL BDers have a good rest tonight x

Sweetpeasue Sat 18-May-24 19:57:25

Allsorts Pain wears you down so much and you have such a lot of it. An aunt had a lot of arthritis and suffered tremendously so I am sorry to hear you have this physical pain to bear on top of all your other problems . Hope you can benefit from the warmer weather to come.
*EllieAnne You'll be needing a good warm soak in the bath after all that gardening. Do you have many trees that need sorting? We have a plum tree and it seems to need pruning every year as it's getting too tall for us to manage. I think the fresh air in the garden does help to clear our thoughts for a little while.
HVDY I hope your arm feels better soon. We've not had a shingles jab yet. DH is 70 at the end of the Yr but not sure if he's eligible-all sounds quite complicated. So kind to make a little place for the stray cat . I imagine you as the pied piper with a stream of various animals following. You've a big heart. Oh that's awful about your SIL not remembering you after all the time you've had together. How quickly she's forgotten all those days with you at the day centre- so sad for you.
Nadateturbe I really feel for you with your poorly eyes-youve so much to cope with and hardly get any sleep. I can understand you not wanting to take tablets with so many side effects. I try my best not to take them as they make you feel so dozy and then need laxatives too but there's no way I could do without them. It's been a pea-souper for the second day running here!
Wyllow So relieved to hear you are to have someone another day to take you out( hope I got that right). Hope you've had a better day today and so sorry it was bad yesterday. You are doing very well to keep coming in and posting a little of what you are feeling.
Scaredycat Hope you've had a good day. I'm writing on mobile and can't go back to see your posts so I'm so sorry. I must have missed the photo being referred to.
Doodle I hope its been a day where your DH hasn't had so much pain and he's been able to chat a little to yourself and the family . So pleased you're both being looked after . Sending love.

Hope you're all ok
WhiffCandy**Nanny and hope I've not missed anyone.

Felt extremely tired and think pain must have took advantage of it. DH still not right-headaches make him exhausted-- he's agreed again to see Dr on Monday -he put it off before. We're KOKO as we all do.
Had little GS after school for couple of hrs yesterday- so lovely.
Couldn't take aunt out this morning -she said she understood but not sure if she'll remember anything.
Love to all.

nadateturbe Sat 18-May-24 18:40:34

That was great having a good sleep HVDY. Makes all the difference. Well fine to your DH. Wish I could say the same. Woke at 12 30 and didn't get back to sleep until 5am.
It's absolutely too warm here. Can not go into garden. Lying on the bed at the cool side of the house. The only good point is I'm not very hungry.
Husband gone to play a charity gig. Just doing a short session thankfully, as there are lots of performers.
EllieAnne I don't know where people get the energy to garden. I'm amazed at Sweetpeasue's doing so much in spite of ill health. It does take a lot of energy. Yes, my DD on the south coast says its very expensive. She just got her trees cut back. I had a tub of flowers which needed sorted, a Mothers day present and I'm ashamed to say I just tipped it into the garden waste.

Ellie Anne Sat 18-May-24 18:02:57

It’s been a lovely day here. I’ve been working in the garden but it’s getting too much. I’ve got trees I’d like rid of but think it would cost a lot.
I think the main beach would be mobbed today. Lots of young people come on the train from Glasgow. Usually it’s fine but occasionally there’s a bit of trouble usually because of alcohol.
Hope it’s been sunny where you are.

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 18-May-24 09:35:53

Wyllow3 Sorry you had a bad day. Can you get out to sit in the garden (even in your nightwear)?

It's a dull morning, supposedly going to get warm and sunny. but I slept better in the back bedroom (after DH moved things around, he did work hard) My arm is no better, but I expect it'll be ok by the end of the weekend. Hope ALL BDers manage to have a decent day x

Bad day again

You mustn't worry about posting Doodle.
Everyone is just glad to hear how things are.
So happy that you got out into the sunshine together. x

Doodle Oh, that's so good. I'm glad you were able to get outside for some fresh air. It's been a lovely, sunny day

Doodle Fri 17-May-24 20:29:32

Have read all but don’t have the energy to reply to each. So sorry. We’ve had a lovely day. DH been outside in the sunshine. We’ve both relaxed a bit x

nadateturbe Fri 17-May-24 17:47:33

Just saw the photo Scaredycat. Lovely, so funny too. Thank you.

HowVeryDareYou2 Fri 17-May-24 17:29:24

nadateturbe Glad you had a nice time at the hairdresser's. Men! I've got a notebook that I've written in, all the daft things DH says - he knows and doesn't care about the book - and it makes us (the family only) laugh when we read them. Honestly, he's funny without trying.

ScaredyCat I'd love 1 or 2 cats, but although I love them, we've got used to not having litter trays, smelly food, and having all the internal doors open 24/7. I haven't seen that little cat for 2 days now, I hope he's ok. I love the photo! He looks as though he's waiting for a bird to arrive, without having to chase one smile. Mr Cooper never once bothered with birds, he was such a lovely boy.

How's everyone been? I met my brother at the care home, to visit his wife (10 miles from me). She didn't recognise me, couldn't remember my name (known her 24 years). Perhaps she'll have a better day next time. DH has been busy - moving furniture around, hoovering, and generally being busy (he was under orders grin). x
