Covid jab nasty side effects

I have lost count of the number of Covid jabs I have had, all with no side effects. However, the one I had yesterday has absolutely flattened me. My arm is so sore I cannot raise it, getting myself dressed this morning was agonising. I also feel very feverish and ‘off’. My husband had his las week and also felt dreadful. Has any one else suffered similarly?

I think I've been lucky as my arm was extremely sore for one day after the jab and gradually eased of within 2 days. Like you GIN I certainly couldn't raise it at all after a few hours it was so painful. As for the vaccination itself - I didn't feel a thing and thought I'd got away with it!!!! Still I kept telling myself it's better than covid

This was my husband's 7th COVID jab. He's never even had a sore arm before. This time his arm was sore, his limbs and eyes were hurting and he felt exhausted. It only lasted 24 hours though.

ALL of mine have "flattened" me!

Let’s hope it just lasts 24 hours, I have lots of seedlings to repot! At least the sun is shining for a change.

I felt very tired and had a sore arm but it wore off after a couple of days.

NotSpaghetti Sat 04-May-24 12:56:44

Yes. It will wear off. Mine was 2-4 days. Felt like 'flu.

We had ours yesterday - was apprehensive as it was the Moderna one not Pfizer as we’ve had before. Both OK apart from the usual sore/stiff arm…

I ve never had any effects never even had a sore arm or even known where it’s gone in I have my 8th one this next Saturday so watch this space 🤣

Had my booster on Thursday and feel to-day as if I have flu, so it must be kicking in. You just have to roll with it; it won't last long.

I had the Moderna last Saturday. I slept all afternoon , I felt flu like aches exhaustion and chills all week., though with gradual improvement. Our practice nurse said yes more reaction to it but Moderna thought to be more effective
I’ve had no reaction to previous jabs

Sparklefizz Sat 04-May-24 13:50:16

I had mine yesterday and my arm has come up in a sore swelling under the skin like a ping pong ball, but worst of all I have suddenly begun aching from head to foot like flu. Every inch of me hurts, even the backs of my hands.

I do have a lot of health conditions so maybe I’m extra vulnerable but I feel rough!

Sorry to hear that others are suffering. Let’s hope we soon feel better.

Sparklefizz Sat 04-May-24 13:51:10

Mine was Moderna too

twinnytwin Sat 04-May-24 13:56:26

Mine on Monday was Moderna for the first time. I reckon this is my 8th (auto immune issues). My arm is sore as per usual, but no other side effects.

grannysyb Sat 04-May-24 14:12:10

I had my eighth ab this morning, six have been Pfizer with no reaction, however I slept for about 36 hours after the Moderna one. Guess what I had today?! I need to be fit tomorrow as I am volunteering at our allotment cafe selling coffee and cake, have to make the cake this afternoon, hoping for no reaction this time!confused

biglouis Sat 04-May-24 14:22:34

I had the Moderna about 10 days ago and the aches and shivers and flu like symptoms are only just wearing off. I have had the Astra and Pffeizer jabs with no adverse results apart from a slight ache in the arm.

Sparklefizz Sat 04-May-24 14:38:55

So sorry to hear that biglouis. Hope you’re over the worst now.

Why are people still allowing their bodies to be injected with this stuff?

Around here there has been a sharp increase in the number of people having strokes. These are previously fit, healthy people who are not overweight, don’t smoke and take regular exercise. From what I hear they are all people who have had Covid jabs too.

I remember going for my first jab and was hurried through. My second jab the nurse did say “are you sure you want it because I have to warn you it can cause blood clots.” I had the third so we could go abroad and that’s it, no more for any of us.

biglouis Sat 04-May-24 14:47:08

Yes I have thought about not bothering with any more. I rarely go out so there is probably little chance of my catching covid. I tend to just soldier on unless I am really ill. Something you have to do when you are self employed.

My nephew says he has had (albeit mild) flue like symptoms every time he had a jab.

‘From what I hear..’ hardly sound factual evidence.

I am immunosuppressed, so would rather put up with side effects than have a serious case of Covid. I had the Moderna booster a week ago with only a slightly tender arm and a 3-day headache.

Cabbie21 Sat 04-May-24 16:59:35

My flu-like effects kicked after about 6 hours but were gone within 36 hours of the jab. My arm was also sore and heavy. I could not face the effort of getting in the bath that night. This is the first time I have had any issues.

Ladyripple Sat 04-May-24 17:19:55

I had Moderna 10 days ago,my arm was very sore for a couple of days, not had that with previous ones.I also had episodes of shivering and feeling rough,it was short lived, about 48 hours.

I had Covid last year and ended up in hospital extremely ill, without the vaccinations I would have been far worse.I will continue to have the boosters.

I am not interested in hearing why other people are not having the booster. We can all make up our own minds about it.

grannysyb Sat 04-May-24 17:42:59

We've both had all the jabs offered abd only had covid once, I think we caught it on the very crowded trams in Amsterdam last year. Our symptoms weren't too bad, DH took longer than I did to recover. I would much rather take what is on offer.

Iam64 Sat 04-May-24 18:51:51

It’s easy for people who aren’t immuno suppressed/copd or other auto immune conditions to ask why people take the immunisation. Covid would be potentially very serious for me and many other posters. That’s why ‘people are still allowing their bodies to be injected with this stuff’.
Our choice, our decision, always on experienced medical advice. Thank you
