A prescribing pharmacist may be able to prescribe this for you.
I use Dermol 500 on an abdominal scar that itches from time to time.

I too have a c section scar 50 years old plus a few other small abdo scars from another op and a recent one from insertion of a pacemaker.
I have found Bachs rescue remedy cream great, its non greasy, soothes and moisturises and it’s free of anything that might irritate.
It’s not cheap but a bit goes a long way.

If you are in the Uk as I am you can get what is called Battles ( the make) udder cream . Sounds a bit odd but it really is brilliant. Farmers use it for the cows , hence the name .
A few years ago i got my mum to use it on an ulcer on her leg . She was skeptical at first but it healed it within a couple of weeks.
I think amazon sell it but we get ours from our local farm supplies type shop and a tub lasts ages.

Good old fashioned Germolene!

Calendular cream (Superdrug and Boots keep it) is brilliant for anything itchy and sore. It's a natural product and gentle but effective. I used to use it on my children from toddlers onwards, and always have a tube in the house.

I use Hydrozole, it helps!

Our surgery has an option for prescription enquiries when you telephone. If I need anything added or changed the prescriptions clerk is able to put me through to the prescriber to sort it out.

I don’t have this problem but I m a great one for Coconut cream/ butter it has antibiotic properties and is soothing, cheap as chips, and readily available

I have the same problem with my 30+ years old hysterectomy scar, I just use sudocrem and that seems to soothe it.

I don’t have a C-section scar, so this may or may not contribute towards a solution.

Could it be clothing, undergarments, waistbands that keep aggravating the tissue?
My comfort level and instinct would immediately make me step away from restrictive clothing and give the area room to breathe and not rub. Maybe use a cream to help heal soreness.

I also thought of this - make sure you’re using NATURAL fibers/clothing in your undergarments like all cotton or silk.

Blended non-natural fabrics are often allergic to some people.

I have the same problem with my 3 x C section scar. I find Sudocrem ( or supermarket own brand nappy cream) very effective.

I use Aloe Vera gel for anything that is sore or itchy and it usually does the trick , rarely have to use it more than 2 or 3 days. It says quickly and non greasy.

I have the same problem with my old hysterectomy scar. I use aloe vera gel when it flares up. I also use it for my eczema and psoriasis as I wanted to stop using steroid creams. I bought it off Etsy a couple of years ago, £10 for 1kg. Aloe vera has antibacterial properties and is very soothing when you put it on as it cools the skin as it dries in. If you have an aloe vera plant you can peel the skin and rub that on any affected area. I hjust find the gel easier to use.

This is interesting advice. I had heart surgery 8 weeks ago. The chest incision has healed well but is incredibly itchy. I was advised not to use anything until the sutures had dissolved and am now using paw paw ointment on the scar and E45 on the rest of my chest which is very dry I’m using the same for the leg incision but still have undissolved sutures at the ankle. Does anyone have experience of silicone strips which are supposed to help reduce scarring?
