For the support ,understanding and sharing of mental health issues. All are welcome. We treat each other with kindness

Sweetpeasue Sun 14-Jul-24 19:42:43

HVDY DH seen on time and had contrast injected through cannula before CT scan. He never has problems with nurses injecting him but nurse couldn't get needle in right(she was learning-ouch) Results go to Rheumatologist.
Oooh that meal sounds delicious. My DH can't cook at all though son 2 loves cooking. Just settled down to watch match. I'm expecting shredded nerves as usual. 🫣 xx

Doodle Sun 14-Jul-24 20:27:17

Had a good weekend out yesterday and with both my sons today but now I’m home in floods of tears. I’ll have a headache soon and my eyes are sore. Forgive me I don’t feel like posting tonight,
Sweetpeasue hope the results give some answers but are ok.

Sweetpeasue Sun 14-Jul-24 21:00:22

Oh Doodle Our sons are part of us, we love them unconditionally but you and your beloved were 'one' first. I wish I could take away your pain. I'm so very very sorry. I will keep sending love as always and hope you will be able to find sleep away from the pain later. xxxx

Scaredycat Sun 14-Jul-24 21:14:41

Sending a caring hug Doodle. My heart breaks for you and hope that you can find some peace tonight. Rest yourself and remember how loved you are.x

nadateturbe Sun 14-Jul-24 21:35:27

Started to post but I'm afraid I'm short on stamina and screens need limited.
Thinking of everyone. Glad one test is over Sweetpeasue. Hope your knee eases, one thing after another for you. Hugs.
Hope you get your MRI HVDY. I used Allianz Medical.
Feel for you Wyllow3 and EllieAnne.
Hope you are having a good time Scaredycat.
Candy will look for Calm. It sounds very helpful. I hope you get your sleep problem sorted.x
Doodle so thoughtful to others, sending love.
Thinking of you all, also Zakouma66, Jaffacake, Whiff .
Sorry to be even more brief than usual! . Very annoying. 🙁
Hope you all have a peaceful night.xx

Wyllow3 Sun 14-Jul-24 22:13:32

Doodle just glad you popped in to share. I guess after seeing family it hits you more, hugs your way.

Super meal there HVDY and thank you.

I wish you could have got the results today, Sweetpeasue..and this evening results happy…

Warm waves Scaredycat and nadateturbe (not annoying)

And to all BD’s, best nights possible.

nadateturbe Sun 14-Jul-24 22:34:44

Doodle just read your post. So sorry. I too am heartbroken for you. Sending my love and hugs.xx

Candy6 Sun 14-Jul-24 23:06:47

Just popped in before bed. Sorry can’t post to everyone but just sending much love and hugs to Doodle. Hope you get some rest tonight and feel better tomorrow. Take care ❤️ xx

HowVeryDareYou2 Mon 15-Jul-24 06:24:37

SweetpeaSue Having a novice nurse doing the cannula wouldn't have helped. Hope your husband's results will be looked at and acted upon quickly. DH watched the football, on and off - It's certainly not "coming home" (again)

Doodle Hugs. Hope you managed to sleep x

nadateturbe Thanks, I'll Google Allianz Medical and have a look.

Got up, put the washer on, make a drink, faffed about for a bit, then realised it was 6am and not 8am! Back later x

nadateturbe Mon 15-Jul-24 08:38:46

HVDY Sorry, it's Alliance Medical. Prices here in NI are good.

nadateturbe Mon 15-Jul-24 08:50:17

Vista get better trustpilot reviews actually. Sorry, HVDY I'll leave you to it! I didn't realise there were so many private companies. Says something about our NHS.
Doodle I hope you're ok today. Sending love.

HowVeryDareYou2 Mon 15-Jul-24 12:14:22

nadateturbe Thanks. Before I can do anything, I'll need to get a referral letter from my GP's surgery, apparently, so I'll do that.

Sweetpeasue Mon 15-Jul-24 17:17:41

Doodle Hope you managed to sleep last night and feel a little better. Lots of hugs for you from us all.x
Nadateturbe Thankyou, knee is a little better today. Hope you've been ok today.
HVDY What an early start.
Yes DH said nurse told him afterwards she'd only done 4 cannula before which was why she was under supervision. The senior nurse recognised the needle had bent( eek!) so had to go in other arm. His arms look awful , well being on steroids he's bruised all over the place.
How has your pain been today?

DH had his Doppler scan done. Radiographer said she could hear the 'bluit' sound in left arm and said it could be why his BP was very low in that arm.
I'm concerned so trying to see GP tomorrow if she's there.
Better day today-no rain- hope everyone has had a decent day.x

nadateturbe Mon 15-Jul-24 18:10:59

It's good its been done Sweetpeasue. Have read a little bit about it. Hope it's treated soon, if needed.

Doodle Mon 15-Jul-24 18:12:14

Hello all. Sorry I couldn’t write much last night. I’m going through a bad patch. I managed to get through a lunch with friends today.
Sweetpeasuei don’t know what Doppler sounds mean but worth checking with GP.
Those canulars can cause a lot of bruising and bleeding in the arms. Hope your DH is ok now.
HvDY my new friend comes from my art class so I will see her again when we start in September but maybe before too.
Your dinner sounds lovely.
Hope you get your referral letter and can then arrange a scan soon. Shame you have to pay but it’s a long wait otherwise.
Scaredycat what a lovely post. Thank you. I don’t like feeling like this. I’m constantly on edge except at night after I have a drink I can relax a bit but can’t start drinking during the day. Are you still on holiday. Hope you’re having a good time.
nadateturbe thank you for your kind thoughts too. I’ve just bought a year of Calm. I like listening to the bedtime stories to help me sleep. Must do the exercises too though.
Candy thank you for your kindness too. Sorry my minds a mess at the moment are you away in your caravan?
Wyllow times are hard for you too I realise that. I’m usually better after seeing my sons but at the moment I seem very low and can’t shake it off.
Ellie Anne life is hard for you too. Not much fun living like this is it?
You’re all so wonderful. You have been so kind to me and I do appreciate your caring and thoughtfulness ❤️

HowVeryDareYou2 Mon 15-Jul-24 21:28:47

SweetpeaSue You're right to try to get a GP appointment tomorrow for your husband. When we he be seen by a consultant next? My pain is there all the time, but I've done very little (again) today. It's not too bad when I'm lying down (as I'm nicely drowsy for 4 hours or so). The weather was nice this morning, but by lunchtime felt really cool, then it rained a lot this afternoon.

Doodle It might be nice if you saw your new friend before September. I think if a drink helps you to relax at night, why not - although obviously not during the day, if you've got to drive. I hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Hope ALL BDers have a restful night x

nadateturbe Mon 15-Jul-24 22:04:31

Doodle I don't think you realise how well you've been doing. It's only two months since you lost your dear husband and there are bound to still be times when you just want to give in to your grief and cry.
I hope you get to talk to someone at Cruse soon. I'm sure it will help you.
It's nice you've made a new friend.
Sending love and hugs and remembering you in my prayers. x

Scaredycat Mon 15-Jul-24 22:08:10

Hi all.
We’ve been to Lindesfarne today and really tired. But it was beautiful just wish I could have walked further. So lucky to have been there though
Nadateturbe- hope you are ok today .
Doodle- I thought of you today in that Holy place. I,m pleased you have made a friend at Art- it,d be good to keep in touch over the Summer break. I ,ve made lasting friendships through my Art classes. Take care dear Doodle.
SweetPeaSue- ah poor DH his arm must be so sore. Hope you get some help from the surgery tomorrow.
HVDY- seems like resting a bit more might help you - hope you get your referral letter quickly you must be cheesed off with it all. Glad you enjoyed your meal - sounded delicious.
Wyllow- thanks for a warm wave- it worked ,the Sun has been out all day!! It would be nice for you to get your garden sorted so you can enjoy being outside more.
Sorry this is a short post but need to rest now. Love to all+ Candy,Whiff, Allsorts,Nanny,Zakouma,Jaffacake peaceful night xxxx

Sweetpeasue Mon 15-Jul-24 22:24:59

Doodle I've googled 'Calm'. Not sure about it all but didn't see the stories . Just hope it helps a little when you're alone. I so care and I feel quite helpless as what to say apart from how much I care.
Scaredycat Your post appreciated. Do hope you get restful night.
HVDY Not sure if the nicely drowsy feeling is results of the painkillers. When I resorted to them I was grateful for that feeling , aswell as the actual pain relief.

Do hope all will have a restful night.

nadateturbe Mon 15-Jul-24 22:25:08

Sorry your pain is so constant HVDY. It must be annoying not being able to do much too. I do hope you get an MRI soon. Its pretty miserable for you.
Sweetpeasue good luck with GP. Your poor husbands arm must be so sore. I don't like when someone inexperienced is treating me.
Scaredycat just read your post. How lovely getting to Lindesfarne. Whst a lovely day.
👋 wave back Wyllow3. Hope you're OK today.
I've so many eye drops(3 types) to use at different times I'm afraid of doing it wrong. But no eye pain last night smile

We've driven back to the caravan. Someone has kindly watered our new plants. Beautiful sunset tonight.
Hoping all on BD have a peaceful night.
²

Sweetpeasue Mon 15-Jul-24 22:30:39

Nadateturbe Oh how wonderful to see a beautiful sunset when you've driven back there. Do hope you have some good days there. It's live for today-and appreciate each day isn't it. X

Wyllow3 Tue 16-Jul-24 00:00:17

Doodle basketful of hugs from today. Well done for getting through lunch. And the glass of wine in the evening - good idea!

Yes, every hour is hard for me I’m so badly stuck in “no hope or pleasures”. Can’t get out except forcing myself to go to supermarket today so food in the fridge for the week. Huge effort to WhatsApp family.

You are very thoughtful for others.

Yes you will need the letter from GP, HVDY and GP will get results for your medical records. (you might get them too I don't know) All the best for sorting something quickly - your pain is so constant.

I hope you can talk to a GP tomorrow Sweetpeasue for help.

Lindesfarne - I’ve never been - sounds lovely, especially in the sun - yes a shame you couldn’t manage further Scaredycat

Glad you didn’t get eye pain, nadateturbe, it all sounds very complicated.

Warmest waves for absent BD’s xxx

nadateturbe Tue 16-Jul-24 00:40:17

Sweetpeasue I agree, I try to find something each day to be thankful for. And the sunset reminds me of the wonder of creation and that I am not alone.

nadateturbe Tue 16-Jul-24 00:42:43

Wyllow3 don't underestimate your achievements today.
Must try to sleep.
Goodnight all.

HowVeryDareYou2 Tue 16-Jul-24 07:51:13

nadateturbe What a beautiful sunset. Hope you have a lovely time at your caravan. I'm glad your eyes aren't painful. How long do you need to do the drops for?
ScaredyCat Glad you had a good day and that the weather's been fine. I've never been to Lindisfarne but it looks beautiful (I Googled it)
SweetpeaSue The drowsiness at night is caused by my AD and painkiller (though the Gabapentin does nothing at all for the pain) but the effects soon wear off. Hope your husband is seen soon by someone. Best of luck.
Wyllow3 Do you keep a journal at all? It might be useful, to record your emotions and achievements (no matter how small they may be)
Doodle It's still very early days for you, but you're doing extremely well. Be kind to yourself.

It's already raining here in Nottingham. I'd rather have that than hot weather, though. Meeting my brother's widow and her daughter later, for a mooch around the shops and a pub lunch. I hope I'll be ok, ut DH will drop me off and pick me up. Love to ALL BDers x
