Sweetpeasue Thu 18-Jul-24 22:20:29

Doodle It's been an awfully hard day for you ,so sorry. You have done all you can , seen neighbour , church. Hope tomorrow you will feel just a little easier, at times. Sending you love and I wish I had magic words to ease your heartbreak. Sleep well, I hope, and God be with you.x

Sweetpeasue Thu 18-Jul-24 22:23:11

ThanksNadateturbe v perceptive. Son 2 is taking DH and picking him up , because of my stupid knee choosing the wrong time to play up. I will go with him. Take care .x

Wyllow3 Fri 19-Jul-24 00:07:20

Doodle have been with you in my thoughts all today. Your feelings so very understandable xx.

Waves to a tired nadateturbe

Scardeycat so glad it’s been a positive break and glad you are getting to see the family en route.

Aw Sweetpeasue sorry you lost the post! Posts in bits are fine, maybe that would work out better. Googling things are a mixed blessing - but if it’s what you need, you go ahead. Good to hear about Son, and all the best for DH tomorrow.

Night night all BD's.

Sweetpeasue Fri 19-Jul-24 11:21:53

Thankyou Wyllow for your caring words.

DH just texted that he's just signed consent form. Can't wait to have him back home.

Ellie Anne Fri 19-Jul-24 14:49:31

Wondering if Whiff is ok? Haven’t seen any posts recently.

nadateturbe Fri 19-Jul-24 16:29:43

Whiff posted in another thread on Monday EllieAnne.
Not feeling well. (So what's new?). Might be able to post later.

HowVeryDareYou2 Fri 19-Jul-24 18:14:27

Doodle You got through yesterday. I'm glad you had some company and hope you've seen someone today
nadateturbe Sorry you're not well. Is the warm weather affecting you?
SweetpeaSue How'd your husband? Hope it all went well. How's your knee?

We had ChubbyChops here at 8.30, and she's just gone. She's enjoyed her meals, played in her paddling pool, crawled around on the lawn, naked (plenty of suncream on and parasols out) and generally been a delight. It was too hot to go mooching about.

Wyllow3, Candy6, ScaredyCat, Whiff, EllieAnne and ALL BDers - hope your day has been alright.

Whiff Fri 19-Jul-24 19:15:47

Doodle read what I wrote on bereavement form Does it get easier today hopefully what I wrote will help.

Wyllow you are still you . I see that on other threads you write on. It's just here you can be yourself and admit how much you are struggling.

Will write soon just been snowed under with other people I am trying to help on other forums . And they are helping me. 🌹

Sweetpeasue Fri 19-Jul-24 20:06:07

* Whiff* I saw the post you wrote on other forum. V kind. Glad you are OK.
Nadateturbe So sorry you're not feeling well. Please don't worry about posting and rest your body and mind. Hope eyes aren't too bad.
*HVDY I could just imagine chubby chops on that lawn and in pool.' A delight ' sounds good description . Glad you had such nice day. You will be tired , hope your pain hasn't flared up too much. MRI on knee 5 yrs ago revealed meniscus not properly fitting into groove , or something. Said if I was younger an op might have helped.

Sorry can't address all. DH has 5stitches , in Theatre around 40 mins-17mm of artery taken. Been having quite a bit pain now and swelling . Looks awful ,poor man.
Hope everyone is OK and has a peaceful night. Love to all.x

Doodle Fri 19-Jul-24 20:38:24

Oh Scaredycat that’s so lovely. Thank you so much.
I did actually sleep well and I’ve had a better day today.
Hope you got to see your family and had a lovely catch up.
Sweetpeasue thank you I have had a better day today. Been out most of the day but so exhausting in the heat.
Sorry your DH is in pain but qt least it’s done now and hopefully the results will be fine. When is he coming home?
Wyllow thank you. Hope you’ve had a better day.
HVDY what a lovely picture you paint of time with your little granddaughter. I bet she had a lovely day. Yes too hot to do much. How have you been today.
Whiff I did read your post and thank you for helping.
Ellie Anne hope you’re coping with this heat. Have you been to the sea today?
nadateturbe you must find this heat exhausting like I do. Is it ok in your caravan? (Sorry if you’re not still there my mind is all over the place)
I’ve heard today I’m going for my op next Wednesday, Hope it’s cooler.

nadateturbe Fri 19-Jul-24 21:08:42

Oh poor man Sweetpeasue. I hope he's all right. What a stressful day for you both.xx
I walked to our surgery with husband, about 20 mins. Was so exhausted he had to go home and get the car. I wasn't breathless, just no energy whatever. Just wanted to sit on the ground and wait for him. Feel so old, but I have friends much older with lots more energy.
It's just as well I'm easily contented these days. Sorry, I've missed replying to everyone's posts. But I have read and I do care. xx

HVDY time with Chubby chops sounds delightful.

Sweetpeasue Fri 19-Jul-24 22:10:32

Doodle Pleased to hear you've had a better day. Yesterday must have been so difficult , I can't comprehend just imagine. Glad you've now got your date for op. At least now you know when your next hurdle is and can make preparations. Thankyou for caring,y DH'S procedure was a daytime thing so he's now at home. Hoping the results will prove GCA though think there might be large vessel involvement because of extreme discrepancies in BP.
I think you are amazing to keep posting here. I needed BD so much when I first posted and you were there for me.
Doodle you are a true inspiration and example of kindness to others to keep posting here, though you still are that , even if you couldn't. Just wanted you to know .x

Sweetpeasue Fri 19-Jul-24 22:22:23

Oh Nadateturbe that must have felt so awful, the immense tiredness and the need to go to surgery . We don't need to compare with others more fortunate. That will make you feel worse. Though it's inevitable we will. I've seen from your kind posts to everyone, despite your poor energy levels, you are a kind caring person. I wish science could find a breakthrough in your illness. I'm sure it will one day happen. Much love. X

nadateturbe Fri 19-Jul-24 22:47:41

So understanding of you Sweetpeasue. Thanks so much.
Honestly everyone on BD is so nice. Even when people are coping with health problems there's still time to support/ encourage each other, and share little stories about what they are doing which I love reading.
Doodle I'm glad you slept well and feel a little better today. But I know it's still so hard for you. And your op is next Wednesday. I hope you get into a ward with others and aren't alone. Is it somewhere close?
Goodnight everyone. xx

Ellie Anne Fri 19-Jul-24 23:04:43

Huh what heat? It’s like winter.

Wyllow3 Fri 19-Jul-24 23:52:22

- [ ] Doodle glad its been bit better and dont forget to pack away us BD’s in your bag with you next Wednesday
- [ ]
- [ ] I’m glad that it’s over and done with the Sweetpeasue a really tough day for both of you, hope results dont take too long.

I did see you else were Whiff, good to see you in here.

Its been really really hot here too HVDY ideal weather for water play with Chubby Chops

Always good to see you in nadateturbe whatever you can write.

Yes Ellie Anne here its been so hot and close!

(same old same old here).

Night night all BD's whether in today or not xx

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 20-Jul-24 08:50:55

SweetpeaSue The procedure your husband had sounds unpleasant. Poor man. I hope he'll relax and not get doing anything for a while now. Hope the results are through soon and that he gets the help he needs.

Doodle I'm glad you got out yesterday, even though it was so warm. You're such a kind lady. I remember the thoughtful and reassuring things you said to me when I was so worried about Son1, his situation and then Son2. I think you're such a lovely person. Not long until your operation, but you'll be able to prepare this time.

nadateturbe Hope today is better for you. The exhaustion must make you so fed-up, yet you keep trying to do things. As Wyllow3 says, we must koko.

EllieAnne It was 28 degrees here yesterday. I didn't like the constant rain we ha, but I don't like the heat at all.

Wyllow3 Any news yet about extra help?

I was hobbling about all day yesterday, in a lot of pain. I'm going to sit around and do as little as possible today. Hope ALL BDers have a decent day x

Sweetpeasue Sat 20-Jul-24 16:36:39

HVDY Do hope the pain has eased today and you managed to rest. You did so well to look after chubby chops yesterday and I imagine there was a fair bit of bending and lifting. So hot here - as you say, it rained forever then went straight into the heat. DH is so exhausted just walking up stairs that he's finding it impossible to do anything. I'm worried as this doesn't seem right even with GCA. There's more going on and I've now realised there's Large Vessel GCA . The blood flow on the left, where he gets temple pain and has 'bluit' in left carotid artery isn't right and daily BP is still vastly different in that arm. I wish they'd hurry up with this appt. He's been in pain a lot with his headaches today so not sure if steroid dose right either.
Sorry, HVDY, didn't mean to write this solely to yourself , you've enough on.
Worries just bursting out and can't settle.

Hope everyone is OK and coping with the heat. Surely you'll get some sun soon EllieAnne

nadateturbe Sat 20-Jul-24 17:12:58

Sweetpeasue I do hope you get an appointment soon. This has been going on so long. DH should have been seen before now. Our NHS is (I believe) failing badly at the minute. It's excellent when you access it, no complaints about that. But accessing it is the problem.

Sweetpeasue Sat 20-Jul-24 17:53:26

ThanksNadateturbe* Hope you're feeling a but better today.
To be fair DH has had an appt with the Rheumatologist and he has had these scans pretty quickly within 2 weeks of seeing him. He said he'd see him again in 4 weeks, that was 2 weeks ago , but on other correspondence he says 4 to 6 weeks. I just think he's in a danger zone until then as there's the high BP in one arm that GP says can't give medication for until Rheumatologist decides what to do. Then there's the headaches and blood not flowing through arteries properly. I'm sorry- I guess it's just unbearable to see him like this. Feels like I'm waiting for a bomb to go off.

Sweetpeasue Sat 20-Jul-24 17:54:49

Sorry Nadateturbe Sould be bit better. Sure your ' but' is fine!

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 20-Jul-24 18:29:38

SweetpeaSue You ust be worried about your husband, but just keep an eye on him. Try not to worry yourself so much about his BP - I know of people who have consistently high BP, 200 an over, and they haven't been ill. I realise the concen is that your husband's BP is veastly different in each arm, but worrying will -
1) get you into a state and 2) Do nothing to change things. Do ensure that he rests, though. 2 weeks will seem to go quicker if you're distracted with something. Easier said than done, and I don't mean to sound flippant.

I've done nothing all day (and it's seemed a very long day). I messaged DH's sister, asked how she was (she's got various ailments), and she rang me - for 4 1/2 hours!! He can't believe how we can find som much to yap about grin.

Hope ALL BDers have been ok today - it's hot here but we've had a grey sky all day. x

Sweetpeasue Sat 20-Jul-24 20:16:47

HVDY Consistent BP over 200 would be very scary indeed. It's OK. I understand what you are saying I know you are right-makes perfect logical sense. Our feelings often get in the way of logic, so easier said than done but I do need to keep MH stable so I can help him. Thankyou.
Must have been frustrating for you to rest today and boring so good your SIL called. 4 and half hrs! 😄You must get on so well. Hope you get less pain tomorrow after that rest.

Hope all BDs have been OK.

nadateturbe Sat 20-Jul-24 20:26:33

Ellie Anne it's definitely the weirdest summer I remember, although I don't care about it being cool, but sunshine would cheer us up. We need that sun to get us through winter. Your view from your walk on Wednesday was lovely. You live in a beautiful area. Hope your weekend is OK.
Scaredycat What a long wait for your cream, an important cream too! Is there no alternative?
I hope you're enjoying the family visits, lovely way to round off your holiday.
Doodle I don't think I meant to say you are lucky compared to some. I certainly don't think it. Losing your dear partner is one of the hardest things in life. I hope you haven't been alone today, and it hasn't been too warm, I agree, heat is draining.
Sweetpeasue I'm sure it was lovely to hear from your son, and to know things are all right.. Our children are so important, and it's hard sometimes waiting to hear from them, their lives are much busier than ours. Things still haven't got back to normal with son1 after leaving his partner. I miss our relaxed chatty phone calls. Just have to give it time.
I hope your knee has improved today. Some of us certainly weren't blessed with healthy bodies!
I too think it's good to google and know things. I think we're wise enough to google sensibly.
Just read your last post. Yes, your DH has had the 3 appointments very quickly. Perhaps I've got it wrong. But HVDY is right. Try not to over worry. Easier said than done I know. But it won't change anything and will cause you stress that you could do without.
HVDY Did you stick to your decision to rest today and give your poor hip a break after all the activity yesterday. I've just read you did, but how did you chat for so long??? I'd be in bed all day tomorrow, in fact I couldn't physically do it. I'm in awe!
Candy I hope you've survived a week of having to walk the dogs. 🐕 and aren't too tired.
Wyllow3 hope you managed to get out for some fresh air.
Hello to Whiff and anyone else on BD.
Hasn't been a great week. I think when I have something wrong my M E. gets worse, especially when I don't sleep.
Apparently Sajid Javid has been urging the Labour Party to continue the effort he was making regarding research to find some treatment for M.E.
Hope everyone has a peaceful night.xx

Doodle Sat 20-Jul-24 20:32:57

nadateturbe you sound exhausted. Good job your husband was with you so he could get the car. No hospital is not local one it’s a specialist one so not really close.
Thanks Sweetpeasue. Good your DH came home last night.
I’m sorry things are so worrying for you. No wonder you can’t wait for him to be seen. Poor man having all these headaches
You do need to look after yourself too. You need to be strong to help him . You are doing all you can.
If you think the rheumatologist said review in 4 weeks then chase it. We often had delayed appointments even though Consultant had said he wanted us back sooner. Keep pushing for your DH to be seen
HVdY sorry you had so much pain. I expect you were doing a lot with having Chubby Chops around. Hard to resist playing with the little ones or picking them up isn’t it. How can you talk for 4 ½ hours? I’d run out of things to say 🤣
Ellie Anne I would have come and joined you yesterday just to get away from the heat, much cooler today thank goodness.
Wyllow I will certainly carry you all into hospital with me. I need you all to keep my spirits up,
Scardycat and Candy hope you’re having a good weekend.
