I have been contacted by our surgery for an appointment to have the RSV vaccination. I have looked it up on Google as I had never heard of it. I can't make my mind up about it, as I shall soon be having the Covid and flu jabs, and I do worry about all these jabs. Has anyone else been contacted?

I also pointed out in my letter to the M.P. that older people did not get invitations to mammogram or bowel cancer checks.

You’re right, however you can request to have them and they will send you the Bowel Test kit ( or you can buy them over the counter) ) they will book you in for a Mammogram on request.

The Saga article is quite explicit that one can't catch RSV from the vaccine.

So far, I've had 2 Shingles vaccinations and the RSV with no ill effects. plan to attend for Covid and general Flu in December. Thought this might be of interest for those uncertain about accepting the RSV vaccine: theorkneynews.scot/2024/09/28/scotlands-rsv-vaccination-programme-a-significant-step-forward-to-protect-the-health-of-the-population/?fbclid=IwY2xjawFnUv5leHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHax0b7FTKUyAlhGhvS9EBGkvgpvR4qT6gkU3WxrmPRxWFk6dkWsPBY6YXw_aem_urKmlddWE5SIqTWbQ7IC9w

I was invited for RSV, shingles and pneumonia vaccinations last week, but the nurse said as I had the shingles vax last year I don’t need another, as it is a one-off. She said the pneumonia and RSV vacs are one off too but I thought I had read otherwise. Flu and Covid booked for three weeks’ time.

There’s an article in todays Times about the RSV vaccine .

The new Shingles Vax requires two doses, I had two this year.

Marydoll - so far as I know, the 2 point vaccine is for those of us who can’t have live vaccines. I’ve also had the two vax dose

In Scotland that is the only one used now, as far as I am aware.

From NHS Inform.

Since September 2023, the Shingrix vaccine has been used in Scotland.

The reason it is not offered to over 80's is that after a certain age your immune system is shot and would not make the protection from the vaccine. But I am sure that doesn't happen for everyone the day they turn 80, it seems rather arbitrary!

I received a letter yesterday about this and I was another who had never heard of RSV. I don't intend to have it as I've become rather suspicious about all these vaccines we are suddenly being offered.

mum2three - what are your suspicions based on? My practice nurse popped the RSV in an said ‘good, that’s you kept out of hospital this year’

As I have COPD and mltiple comorbidities, I will be taking it as soon as ìt is offered.
RSV kills babies and elderly people.
There has been lots of info about this in the media.

I'm 75 and have never had the flu. I'll take all vaccinations offered.

Coolgran65 Tue 01-Oct-24 17:14:50

P.S. I'm booked for RSV with covid/flu the following week.

If you delve into X and find out about Big Pharma and vaccine damage you will never have another vaccination. It’s worth looking beyond what the NHS and the Government tell you!

X, that great source of medical and scientific evidence.

The job of the NHS is to keep the population healthy. The job of the Government is to pay the bill for the work of the NHS.

What motive do anti-vaxxers think the NHS and the Government have to tell us lies to get us to take vaccines that protect us from covid, flu, shingles, and RSV, to say nothng of polio, diphtheria, measles, rubella, whooping cough - plus all the other things that we or our children used to suffer from and often die, but were made rarities by those vaccinations?
