Flu jab and feeling grim!

I had no reaction at all from the RSV vaccination, not even a sore arm.
I am having flu /covid together in two weeks, they do tell you to leave time after the RSV.
Even if I become unwell I will still have the vaccinations. I just heard that a friend has been in hospital for a few weeks with pneumonia. He was always fit and played badminton well into his 70s.

A long beach walk, a Sunday roast and a good nights sleep have worked magic!
Feeling normal finally, just a sniffle!

I am booked in for flu jab only. Not having that horrible covid jab. Did the same last time and the queue for flu only was much longer than for both. So a lot of people must think like me.

Not necessarily - a lot of people are only eligible for the flu jag, not covid too.

A friend has advised a couple of paracetamol an hour or two before the jabs and maybe another a few hours after. Head off the reaction before it starts.

I’m already in bed at 21.21 keep nodding off. Haven’t the energy todo anything. Feeling rubbish. 😩 It won’t last 🤞

That mirrors my very first Covid jab, Witzend which was the Astra Zeneca one. I was hit by shakes and shivers at about 10pm that evening and retreated to bed, expecting to feel even worse by morning. In fact apart from a sore arm, I was ok apart from that one episode.

Feeling a bit off after jabs may be a good sign that your body is busy making the required antibodies. Your immune system is responding as it should. Not having side effects doesn’t mean your body isn’t responding though, it’s just not making such a fuss about it, I was told by a doctor!

I hope everyone feels better soon - I’ve got my jabs in November.

After my very first Covid jab I had a sudden onset of very fluey symptoms - shivering and shaking so much, I had to get dh to bring my cup of tea upstairs - I’d have spilt it! Funnily enough, I was pleased - it showed that the vaccine was working!

Never had a reaction after flu+COVID jabs but even if I had it wouldn't deter me from having a potentially lifesaving jab. And I'm having an RSV jab this month too.

Snap. Had Covid & flu jabs last Thursday - no ill effects apart from a sore arm for a day or so, and booked for RSV jab in two weeks time, as my lungs are my weak spot, so I'm very grateful to be offered any protection.

Had Flu and Covid jabs yesterday at local GP surgery. Flu in one arm and Covid in the other. Flu done by one nurse then off to another room for the Covid one. Slight discomfort in the Covid arm but nothing too bad. Got my first Shingles one on Thursday-the joys of getting older.

DH and I had both the COVID and Flu jab yesterday. I’m flaked out and can’t do anything. Clinging to my hottie. I will hand over the task of our Sunday Dinner tonight to DH. I haven’t told him yet 🤪

Well said, Doodledog. And i agree. Doesn't stop me feeling grumpy about feeling grim though.

I got the flu and Covid ones in the same arm this morning. It is sore now, and from past experience will get worse over the next couple of days.

On Wednesday I get a B12 on (intramuscular so always gives me a dead arm and an ache) and the shingles booster. I was given the choice of one or both arms today, so went for one to free up the other for Wednesday's delights.

I'm sore and a bit grumpy already, but that is such a first world problem, isn't it? How many people worldwide would be thrilled to get free vaccinations and not risk being seriously ill or even dying from diseases like Covid and flu? I would probably have died ages ago from Pernicious Anaemia if not for the B12 injections, and am so pleased to be vaccinated against shingles, as although I haven't had it myself I have seen how grim it can be.

I have mine separately. Like auntieflo I can only have procedures in one arm after a mastectomy on the other side, but I would choose to have vaccinations separately anyway as I think 2 on one day is too much for the body.

I had my Covid jab yesterday and have had a painful arm but I can cope with that, no problem. Anything is better than the horrendous reaction to the 2 recent Shingles vaccinations which wiped me out for a week of feeling grim each time.

I've got the Flu jab in 10 days' time. Then need to think about the RSV.

Had mine yesterday (flu) absolutely no reaction , not even a sore arm.
I was offered Covid as well but decided against both together.
I have had total node clearance in my right arm and didn’t want both in my left.

We had flu jabs yet, I woke in the early hours with a headache and painful shoulder, took some paracetamol and went back to bed, headache gone but shoulder still painful, better than flu though.

I spoke too soon yesterday. Had a bad night not able to get comfortable with two sore arms and now my hips ache for some reason! Feeling very tired today.

DH and I both had rough nights alternating between being shivery and then sweaty. The headache seems to have gone.

Well I’m up early and getting ready for the drive to Norfolk, I still feel grim, fortunately my husband who is in a deep sleep upstairs had his jab yesterday and feels fine!

Today it’s a sore throat and sniffles, I hardly slept so I’m hoping to snooze in the car.

I got the jab early as we fly to Greece on the 15th, not sure it was such a grand idea now!

We are booked to have the Covid and Flu vacs next week. I'm not sure whether to have both at the same time, as after surgery, I am not allowed to have any procedures in my left arm. So may delay the Covid one. I did ask once if they could inject my thigh instead, and was told no!

There’s no logical reason why you can’t have one in your leg. When I was doing Covid vaccinations I occasionally got a patient with bilateral axillary lymph node clearance and would inject into their leg.

had flu jab friday, no reaction apart from tender arm. covid jab monday, I declined having them on same day.

Another friend tested positive for Covid today. She’d been on a work training course. 50 percent of attendees now positive

I had flu and Covid vaccs 2 days ago and no problem other than slight tenderness in both arms. My concern was the small clinic area . It was full to capacity of 40 seats plus another 10 folk standing round the wall. I was sitting there thinking this is the perfect environment to pass on Covid if any of us are currently incubating it !

Had my flu vac at my GP's vaccination day today - walked in, was directed to a clinic, one nurse asked a few questions while another prepared and administered the vac. I was in, out and back in the car while the same song was still playing on the radio!!

I was working Christmas eve one year when an Occy Health nurse popped her head round the door & offered me a flu jab there & then. I don't think she was having much luck getting vaccinees on Christmas eve & from me it was a "thanks but no thanks".

I had a strange reaction last year after having both on the same day. I woke in the night and felt really weird, I felt so odd I had to wake DH up and tell him. It only lasted about an hour and then I got back to sleep. I've got an appointment for both jabs this week so am keeping my fingers crossed that it won't happen again.

I had Covid and flu jabs on Thursday,in the same arm.I get a reaction every time I have the Covid one,12 hours after it,so I want to bed in anticipation of feeling grim,exactly on cue it started,shivering,high temperature and general grottiness,it lasted 12 hours as usual,then passed off.
Going to have the RSV one,when my surgery send for me,they seem to be doing it in order of age,eldest first.
