On impulse, I’ve just booked a flu and covid jab to be done at same time. Now I’m thinking about it I’m wondering what if any side effects might happen. Has anyone had these together and how did you feel after. Thank you for advice.

M0nica

M0nica

had them both this morning. Spent the afternoon gardening and I am feeling fine.

Pride goes before aa fall. I woke up in the night completely unable to breathe through my nose and with my mouth as dry as dust. I used Vick to sort that out but then my left arm and hans started aching.

This was puzzling as I had both jabs in my right arm as I had a carpal tunnel procedure on my left arm about a month ago, which has healed, but both sides of the severed carpal tunnel were aching enough to wake me up and I had pain down my arm.

I seem to be OK this morning.

Hope that soon resolves, I think it is a shock if you haven't had problems before. I've never been nervous of jabs but after the injection going in the wrong place last year I was feeling a bit jittery yesterday. The nurse showed me where she was doing it and didn't go ahead until I said OK. It can knock you.

I was warned with the shingles jab so was ready for the after affects, well I thought I was but it did make me feel really rough.

The only problem I've had with covid and flu jabs was last year and it was operator error not the fault of the vaccine. The nurse did the injection too high, it was agony and the agony went on for days. Had my jabs yesterday and told the nurse I was nervous about what had happened and she said it is rare but was very careful.

The 2nd shingles jab was the only vaccine I've ever had a problem with, I was so ill that DH cancelled having his done.

I had both a few days ago and am fine. I just had a slightly sore arm when I lay on it,

Had them together last year and this. I’m 68. Flu arm a bit sore for day and Covid arm had itchy red patch for 3/4 days.

I have both together, had less reaction than when I had them a week apart. Pure chance of course.

I had both together in one arm Tuesday afternoon and felt really poorly yesterday all day after a sleepless night. I slept well last night though and feel much better today. No arm ache to speak of, it was more like flu and I had to cancel all my plans yesterday and felt very sorry for myself!

Had both a week ago. Well I think I did. No sore arms or feeling iffy. Great, done with the minimum of fuss.

Had mine on Saturday. Both in the same arm. Just felt the usual “unwellness” for a couple of days.
Now the RSV was a totally different story - with that, I felt ill for three days.
I had no arm inflammation in either case.

I had my flu jab last weekend and Covid yesterday. Sitting here scrolling since 4am struggling to use my arm and feeling very nauseous. Never had a reaction to the jabs before.

Yes both together in the same arm.Felt ill 12 hours after for 12 hours, get the same every year.Much better for me to get it over with, rather than spreading the jabs out.

I’ve booked mine for next Tuesday, both in one arm as last year. Might feel a bit grim for a day or two, but it soon passes.

M0nica Wed 09-Oct-24 21:36:00

I had them both in one arm, as I had minor surgery on the wrist of my other arm a few weeks ago, and although I do not think that would have affected my reactions, I decided not to have an injection in there today.

We both had both jabs on Monday, one in each arm. We have both been fine apart from slightly sore arms. Hope it goes well for you too.

I had them together last year . One in each arm . It was sore at the injection site but otherwise ok . I’m having both in 10 days .

BlueBelle Wed 09-Oct-24 19:30:45

I ve always had them together and booked in for both in two weeks time I also had the pneumonia and shingles together ages back never had any problems with any of them

Doodledog Wed 09-Oct-24 17:23:09

Yes, I felt really grim too, but it's passed. I hope you get well soon, Doodle.

I had flu and covid together on Monday and have felt really ill ever since. Really sore throat, stomach upset and feel generally unwell. I was fine when I went for the jabs. Haven’t had a sore throat for ages and this one is really bad paracetamol and hot drinks aren’t making it any better,

Doodledog Wed 09-Oct-24 17:01:35

I got mine in the same arm on Sunday and felt awful on Monday, a bit better yesterday and am fine today.

I did have an appointment for a B12 injection and shingles booster this morning, but the nurse advised me to leave the shingles one for a week or two, which I've done. B12 is a nasty injection, but other than a dead arm there are no side effects as it doesn't interfere with the immune system, so I went ahead with that.
