When to resume sex after hip replacement

This should have been part of your information pack . I had a hip replacement in my 40s but was single then. Even so , I was given advice on this - with diagrams ! My daughters , who were still at home , thought it was hilarious. Ask your physio’ or occupational therapist.

Seems like a logical question to ask on a health page, it’s normal and natural! Your physio might have some suggestions.

I wish I could ask my late mum! She had two hips replaced (knees as well) over the years. Sadly she passed away 7 years ago. Bearing in mind she had rheumatoid arthritis really badly, and she could hardly move (but the bedroom door was firmly closed on a weekend), I guess they might have used a curled up spooning position.

I think I was warned I'd be on crutches for 6 weeks and it would be about 9 months before the hip would be totally healed.

I have a friend in her 80s who is writing a book about sex into old age. Her current boyfriend is in his 90s.

Good for her and, if it's decently-written, then I reckon that's a book that should have a market for it.

Why not indeed? Some people are lucky enough to still have a good relationship going one way or another - even at quite a late age.

I chose not to read my DIL's erotic novel she published. I'm not a prude by any stretch of the imagination but I didn't fancy reading about her sexual fantasies. 🫣🤣

I just had to laugh and smile at your post even though it must not be funny for you and your dear hubby particularly if he feels like a bit of rumpy pumpy. IT will all happen eventually Mother Nature always finds a way for us mortal humans to carry on with sex even us oldies. Forgive me for talking of sex but I have just been ill and spent 10 ten days in hospital and am now on the mend at home. I have three adult children but have not had a male partner for some years but my illness involved me having a bang to the head and suddenly I am seeing a certain type of man that does it for me and spend about 15 minutes thinking about the actual shenanigans if you get my gist. My happy go there place about 10 years ago was with a certain young man 22 years younger than me the sex was amazing .Right I need to move on now as I am telling you people all my secrets. I do not want sexual activity right now and have had to calm myself my youngest child who is my boy is 39 years old now and has a three year old son so I will not embarass my son by running about with a toy boy I have got all my sexual frustrations out of my system.
